Sweet Summer in January!

This card uses the Sweet Summer set from the current Sale-A-Bration Event.  I was having a play with it, trying out the new stamps, and rather than throw away the results decided to mount the images and make them into a card.

The card base is perfect plum and the mounts are the In Colours - pear pizzazz and concord crush.  I love the way the In Colours co-ordinate together.

You could earn the Sweet Summer set for free by placing an order for £45 as shown below -

121703 Card Stock and Classic Stampin' Pad In Colour Kit £27.95
119801 In Colour Stampin' Write Markers £11.75
104332 Snail Adhesive £5.50
Total £45.20

or you could book your own workshop and if you have sales of £300 this will also earn you a free stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration promotion in addition to the usual hostess benefits.

You can place an order or book a workshop (Aberdeenshire area) by e mailing ails300@btinternet.com

Sale-A-Bration Workshop

The above card was the Make and Take at my friends workshop on Sunday.  Thanks very much ladies for a brill afternoon.  It was great fun and a super laugh.  I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

Everyone had a chance to use some of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets.  The Sweet Summer set allowed their own creativity to come through as they could choose the images they wanted to stamp on the whisper white.  Also they could swap the colour combo of chocolate chip, poppy parade, and pear pizzazz around.  The border was punched using Scallop Trim and again everyone had the option to use any of the border punches.  For the sentiments on the front, we used the Punch Bunch set and for the middle we used the So Happy for You set.

I said at the start that they would all be making different cards and I wasn't wrong as each card turned out to be individual works of art.  They were all fab!

Here are some more examples that I have made to show variety.

I used dimensionals to pop each layer of the true friend sentiment.

For this card I used crumb cake, real red, and old olive.  The flowers and birds were coloured using the pastels and a blender pen.  I punched out the middle of the for you sentiment and popped it on to a real red scallop circle.

This card uses the In Colours - Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush and Peach Parfait.

Everyone who placed an order at the party took advantage of the Sale-A-Bration event and now have free stamp sets to look forward to.  My hostess is looking forward to two free SAB sets, a hostess level 2 set and 3 free punches!  So if you would like to earn any of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets for free then contact me on ails300@btinternet.com to place your order or if you are in the Aberdeenshire area perhaps you would like to host your own workshop and make one of the above cards.

Thank you for looking.  I look forward to your comments.

Stamping up your art!

I have been itching to have a go at making a picture using stamps since I joined with Stampin' Up!  Luckily a friends birthday gave me the perfect excuse.   She was absolutely delighted when I gave her it.

I bought the frame from a discount store.  The images were stamped using the hostess level 1 gift set Punch Potpourri.  Don't you just love stamps that have a matching punch?  It makes it all so easy.  The colours I used were Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy.  I finished off the accents with some self adhesive pearls which I had in my stash.

Looking at the colour of my wall in the background I think I'll have to make one of these for myself!

Would you like to earn this stamp set for free?  Would you like to learn how to make one of the panels?  Then contact me to host a workshop on  ails300@btinternet.com and remember during Sale-A-Bration you can earn even more stamp sets for free.

Feel free to leave a comment if you like my Stamp Art!

Faux silk Valentine's Card

This card came about because I thought I would try out a technique shown in the Stampin' Up! monthly demonstrator magazine.  The flower panel has been given a faux silk effect!

I stamped the images using the Simply Said stamp set, then spread the card stock with multipurpose liquid glue and covered it with paper tissue.  Viola!   The card stock used is whisper white and real red.  I like the effect of double mounting especially when using one main colour.

Happy stamping. x

A colour combo using the In Colours

I enjoyed being creative with colour so much that I decided to have another go.  This time I didn't use the colour coach but went it alone!  However, still playing safely, I used 3 colours from this years In Colour range.

The colours I chose to work with were Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz and Concord Crush.  Here's the result -

The stamps used are from Simply Said.  A lovely set that can be used for a variety of occasions.

I'm so excited.  I'm waiting for the UPS man to arrive tomorrow with my delivery from Stampin' Up! along with some of the free stamp sets!!  I can't wait to start playing with them and will be sure to post the results.   Here's how you could earn yourself some free stamps -

Simply Said Stamp Set £25.95
In Colour card stock and classic stampin' pad kit  £27.95
Total £53.90 plus p&p

This entitles you to chose one free set from the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue.  Postage is free on orders over £60.  Another way is to host a workshop.  If your sales reach £300 before postage then you earn a stamp set in addition to the usual hostess gifts.  If you live in Aberdeenshire then I would be happy to demonstrate at your party and show you and your guests how to make this card.  You can e mail me on ails300@btinternet.com

Thanks for stopping by. x

How to turn a Delightful Decoration into a Vase!! and get your mojo back.

First of all I decided that I didn't want to pack up my christmas stamps and punches quite yet.  So what to do with them?  Well after having a search on the internet, I came across a few ideas and thought I'd try one of them out.

This card uses the Delightful Decorations stamp set and Ornament Punch but the bauble turns into a vase.  Neat huh!!  You can now use this stamp and punch set all year round.

Secondly, what to do to spark up your mojo again after all those christmas cards and gift projects?  Think about colour, it worked for me.  I reached for my colour coach and started looking at the recommended colour combinations.  This one is rich razzleberry, pretty in pink and chocolate chip.  Should have been early espresso but I don't have that ink pad, so I substituted it.  However the main thing is to have fun with colour and you might just surprise yourself with what you come up with.

Happy Stamping. x

Baroque Motifs Gift card

I would like to share with you the Thank You cards that I made for friends and family.  This is also the card we made in our first card class of the year.  (check under Events for future class dates)

I decided to stick with christmas colours, real red and old olive but not an overly christmas theme.  The main image is from the Baroque Motifs stamp set.  The edges of the whisper white card are inked using old olive and a small amount of real red.  I used rich razzleberry to ink the edges of the real red card stock.  It so easy to do this with the sponge daubers.

The sentiment was from Basic Phrases and punched out using the word window punch then attached with a couple of dimensionals.

And here's the inside -

I wanted to send more than just a card, so made a box to hold a treat, in this case a sachet of hot chocolate.  The tag on the opposite side is tucked into a pocket.  On the back of the tag I printed out a message detailing our thanks for the presents received.  The front of the tag is also stamped from the Baroque Motifs set and then mounted onto old olive card stock.   I used an eyelet for the ribbon to go through.  I am so impressed with the crop-a-dile and wish I had had one years ago when I used to use a noisy hammer to set eyelets!

The box and pocket were decorated with the Baroque Border wheel and inked the same way as the front.

My husband and I made up a little rhyme to go with the hot drink box.  We are not poets but here is what it says - A thank you drink, that will heat you up, all you have to do, is put it in a cup!  I did say we weren't poets but I think it's a cute little message.  I printed this out on whisper white from my computer and used the scallop circle punch.  Then attached it using dimensionals.

I hope my friends and relatives are surprised and enjoy their special thank you card.

This is a great time to build up your stash, as each time you spend £45 you earn a free stamp set from the Sale-a Bration leaflet.  Why not team up

Baroque Motifs Stamp Set £28.95
Baroque Border £6.50
Stampin' Around Standard Handle £3.25
Sponge Daubers £8.75
Total £47.45

Got some of these items already?  Then swap those items for something else out of the catalogue to make up a total of £45.  Postage is £4.95 but free for orders over £60.

Happy crafting. x
