Hello from Mr Bunny

Mr Bunny has popped by to say Hello.

CASology this week has a cue card of - Bunny.  I got a picture in my head of a bunny peeking into frame so set about using my punches.  His ears are the Extra Large Oval for the Whisper White and the Large Oval for the Pink Pirouette.  His head is the 2 1/2" Circle, his eyes are from the Itty Bitty Shapes Pack and his cute nose is the Small Heart Punch. I then drew in some whiskers and high lights on his eyes.  The flag is from Pennant Parade and punched out with the corresponding Petite Pennants Builder Punch.

I've followed the colours from Dynamic Duos - Garden Green and Daffodil Delight with my neutrals of Whisper White, Basic Black and Pink Pirouette (flesh colour).

I think he's rather cute and oh so easy to do.  It was fun to have a play with my punches today.  Would you like to build up your punch collection?  If you would then why not join my Stampers 6 (Virtual Hostess) club?  This is an excellant way to spread the cost of your wish list and a great way to build up your collection.  You can contact me on ails300@ btinternet.com or call 07827923123.  I'd be delighted to hear from you.

A Trio of Blackboard Technique Cards

This is the card I made at a recent workshop.  A bit of blackboard technique which seems to be the rage at the moment.  Using lots of Sale-A-Bration products so the ladies could have a proper play with all the new goodies.

For the one above I used Bloomin' Marvelous.

This one uses Pennant Parade words, Hearts A Flutter and Vintage Verses.

A different direction and Feeling Sentimental with Vintage Verses on this one.  I also showed how you could bling it up by popping the little Pretty Petites on Dimensionals and adding Basic Rhinestones

Once I had shown the ladies how to make the card using an Embossing Buddy to get that chalky look on the blackboard they were left to make up their card using any of the stamp sets.  The results were amazing.  Some preferred crisp and clean so didn't chalk and each card was completely different.

The banners were made from Sycamore Street Designer Papers and cut out with the Hearts A Flutter Framelits.  Island Indigo Bakers Twine bows attached with mini glue dots finish off the banner effect.

I came downstairs today to the smell of cooking.  Wondering what was going on I went into the kitchen to find my Daughter and her Granny making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday.  Did you know it was pancake day?  I would have taken a photo but they were so yum they disappeared too fast.

Happy Pancake Day everyone. x

Two hearts in Tune

Hi there

So nice of you to visit during this busy time.

My card today is for two challenges - Less is More - Anniversary and
Dynamic Duos - Black and Gold with an option of Music

The idea for my card has been buzzing about for a few days amongst everything else!!

I used my Music Notes Wheel to create a musical background for my punched heart.  I corner rounded the Whisper White panel.  Now if I said to you this card has something Christmassy on it, can you guess what it is???...

Yes it's the second heart!  I stamped and embossed in gold one of the lovely Ornament Keepsakes then punched out the centre with the Full Heart Punch.  I love the scroll pattern on this and it looks stunning as a gold embossed ornament too!  I added a Basic Pearl and then a simple sentiment in Basic Black from Pennant Parade.  The Whisper White panel is popped up on Dimensional and the Basic Black card base gives a classy feel.

Only two more days and the kids will be off for Christmas, so much still to do!  I'll dash of now and hopefully be round to visit you later.  Take care x

Pick a Square with Stampin' Up!

I had loads of fun making this card for my Aunt to give to her son.  I started with a Perfect Plum Card base and made square mats out of Elegant Eggplant.  I then added a further mat of Crumb Cake.  The Whisper White tops were punched out using the Square Punch and Curly Label Punch.

Each square is decorated with different stamps from the following sets - Stylin' Snowfolk, Mixed Medley, Snow Much Fun, More Merry Messages, Four Seasons, and Pennant Parade.

I added some dimension and sparkle using Dimensionals for the punched circles and Silver Glimmer Paper.

It was so much fun to make all these little squares.  You can really let your creative juices flow.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges

Pennant Parade from our house to yours

Hello.

Our challenge this week from Less is More is houses.

I really need to get cracking on some Christmas Cards.  With this in mind, I decided to use these Christmas trees from Stampin' Up!'s Pennant Parade as my houses and the little birds from Aviary were perfect to populate them.

I typed my sentiment on the PC using Scriptina for Merry Christmas and Footlight MT Light for the second part.  The bird on the bottom tree is stamped directly on the card base using Elegant Eggplant Stampin' Write Marker.

I stamped the trees using Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green, then cut out.  The bottom tree is popped up on a Dimensional.  The top tree is glued directly to the card base with the little robin popped up on a Dimensional.  I inked him using my Stampin' Write Markers too using Chocolate Chip and Real Red.

Thanks for joining me today.  We've had a busy week in our house.  Starting with an enjoyable trip down to Glasgow to see Michael McIntyre.  Very funny man.  Then with visitors.  Back to normal as much as we can be at this time of year!!

Hope you are keeping calm in the run up to Christmas.  x

Pennant Parade Party

How did it get to the middle of the week already?  There are a few challenges that I'd like to enter but may miss the deadlines.  This one is for Dynamic Duos and I think I'm still in time for it.

The challenge is to use only the two colours - So Saffron and Pool Party but you are allowed neutrals too.

Pennant Parade and Party This Way go so well together.  For my card I created a split panel with edges corner rounded and popped up on Dimensionals.  I stamped my pennants in Pool Party on the top panel.  The middle flag has an insert stamped in So Saffron cut out and paper pieced in the centre.
Between the two panels I've stamped Happy Birthday from Curly Cute in Pool Party.
The bottom panel was repeatedly stamped with the candle and I coloured the flames with my So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker.  Then decided to add a little bling and added some Basic Rhinestones to the flags and one onto one of the candles.  The card base is Pool Party.

So I hope you are seeing a bit of sun today.  We are along with hail stones!  Weird huh!
Have a good day. x

Mines a 99!

My favourite ice cream is a Mr Whippy 99.  Mmmmm yum!  Not a day for one today though, lots of rain and a bit too chilly.

My card today features an ice cream with a triple scoop.  The cone is from Pennant Parade stamped in Soft Suede, punched out with the Petite Pennant Builder Punch.  The scoops are from the Create a Cupcake Builder Punch in Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede.

I embossed a panel of Very Vanilla in the Square Lattice Folder and matted onto Soft Suede.  I added a strip of Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper behind it also matted onto Soft Suede.

And a little sneak peak from the new mini out at the beginning of May.  Can't say much more but look at the fancy mat I've created for my sentiment.  The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations and is stamped in Soft Suede.

The card base is Marina Mist.

The colours are from the Simply Stampin' Challenge.

I hope it's drier with you.  Happy crafting. x

Is it an owl or is it a penguin?

I've changed my little owl from the Owl Builder Punch into a penguin for todays card.  This was easy to do, just take off the ears and feet.  Don't worry he doesn't feel a thing!!

The party penguin has been lifted up and balances on top of one of his friends.  He looks a bit precarious and it's made his eyes go all funny!

So why have I gone all penguin?  Well it's for THE FRIDAY MASHUP which this week is to use a penguin on your card or the spotlighting technique or do both.  I've just gone for the penguins.

To make the penguins I've punched them out of Basic Black, Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie for the beak and feet.  I used Boho Blossoms to punch out a little flower then trimmed them for each foot.

Party boys hat was cut out of Basic Black with some Celebrations Designer Paper (now retired) paper pieced on top.

The background panel was stamped in Bashful Blue on Whisper White using a little snowflake from Pennant Parade.  Then mounted onto Real Red card.  The long panel is just Whisper White on Real Red with a Scallop Edge Border along the bottom.  The card base is Basic Black.

I followed the sketch over at SIMPLY STAMPIN' to make this fun card.  Here's the sketch -

Thanks for dropping in past and a big Hello to Marja I'm delighted you have decided to follow me and hope to see you back often.

Edit:  Ooops missed the Friday Mashup deadline!

Wooden Heart

Good morning all.

It's the start of Sale-a-Bration today.  Free stamps anyone?  Have a look at the brochure on my side bar or at the bottom of this post.  There are 4 lovely stamp sets to choose from and a set of beautiful designer series papers.  Best time to order Stampin' Up! is now.  Sale-A-Bration runs until the 31.3.12.  But before you dash off to look at the free stamps, here's how I made my card for today.

I had such fun playing with this combo of colours that I've used it again today. Early Espresso card base and a panel of Riding Hood Red stamped with the Woodgrain stamp in Early Espresso.  The main panel is Very Vanilla mounted onto Early Espresso then mounted onto Blushing Bride.  The heart is from I {heart} hearts in Riding Hood Red.  I chose the heart shape with the woodgrain to match the larger panel.

To finish off I added a strip of Early Espresso punched at one end with a square punch.  You just insert it into one corner.  I attached a Real Red button with some linen thread knotted through it.  I stamped Love from Pennant Parade in Whisper White.

Here's how I decorated the inside.

The sentiment on the inside is from Delightful Dozen

I followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and as I've used the same colours as yesterday I'm also going to put it into The Friday Mashup as well.

Edit:  Woops missed the dead line for Freshly made Sketches but never mind it was fun playing along with the sketch anyway!

Fancy a look at those free stamp sets now?

Aren't they fab?

Here's an example to earn one of the free sets in the above leaflet -

I {heart} hearts £25.95 wood + Woodgrain £16.95 wood + Linen Thread £3.75 = 1 freebie from Sale-A-Bration

Thanks for your visit and I hope you have a good day.  Happy Crafting. x

Dasher in the snow

A Happy Tuesday to everyone.  It's all biz biz biz just now.  I really appreciate you taking the time out to come visit.  Thanks.

Well we did dress our tree at the weekend and we are well and truly "Santified".  Originally I was only going to do the tree but my children had other ideas and got into my box of ornaments. Then they were off round the house.  I keep finding Santas, snowmen, polar bears popping up all round the house!

This is a card that I've prepared for my card class this afternoon and thought it also falls into the LESS IS MORE theme this week which is to add bling.

I've made two cards the one above is is in the CAS style.  Dasher stands proudly above some twinkly snow and has some sparkly rhinestones in his antlers.  Maybe my kids got to him too!

The second card is for my class and I've rollered some snowflakes to make a background.  He still stands proudly above a twinkly snowbank but no gems in the antlers this time as I don't think he needs it with the busier background.

Here's the details of the cards.

Both have Basic Black card bases and Dasher is stamped in Basic Black onto Whisper White and mounted onto Real Red card with Real Red ribbon running behind him.  I then tied another small piece of ribbon the make a knotted bow.  Merry has been stamped from Pennant Parade.  I then tore some Whisper White to make the snowbank under Dasher and covered it with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  The snowflake card was made using a roller, Bold Snowflakes (retired) and Whisper White ink.

Hope your day goes well.  Ta Ta for now. x

Christmas Stars

Oooh I've been experimenting this morning.  This weeks challenge at Less is more is stars.  Mmmm what to do?

As Pennant Parade was still out on my desk I decided to use it's little star.  I wanted to create the shape of a Christmas tree so had a few practise runs on scrap paper.  Then hit on the idea of just using Christmas lights instead and so created this contemporary shape.

I drew a tree very lightly in pencil and then stamped my string of lights.  I wanted to combine traditional colours with the modern design so used colours from the regals selection - Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler.  I like that the stars look vintage and well worn.

To give some extra sparkle, I've used shimmer card as my card base.  Hopefully you can see the subtle shimmer below.

I'd like to try this out again perhaps next time using colours from the brights selection.  It's a little bit of a faff drawing up your tree but very relaxing when you come to stamping so much so you can forget the time.  Unfortunately can't play any longer as daughter has a couple of activities on today.

It's now evening and I never got the chance to post this earlier this morning.  So tonight I decided to try out a brights combo - Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry.  I stripped the design down further and just mounted it onto Basic Black before attaching to a Real Red card base.

So I'm off to post this now, thanks for taking a look, I appreciate your visit. x

Baby Love

Hi Everyone.

Finally managed to do some crafting after our family holiday in Florida.  We had a super time visiting Mickey and friends, going on rides and shopping.  Also managed few trips to Michaels and Joanns.

So now that the family are back into routine I thought I would get cracked on with some new baby cards that I need.  Here's my first one which fits the Less is More challenge this week to use polka dots.  I'm hoping that my mojo came back with me and isn't still partying it up in Florida!  It was really strange picking up my crafting tools after such a long break.

Here's the details of my card -

The card base is Crumb Cake.  I used some patterned paper from Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper.  I stamped Fox and Friends in Bashful Blue, Crumb Cake and So Saffron on Whisper White which was then mounted onto Crumb Cake.   "baby" and "love" were stamped in Bashful Blue from Pennant Parade.  Linen Thread was used to hang the tags and a small Basic Pearl finishes it off.

A little tip to share.  I was literally becoming swamped in scraps so decided to sort them out into rough sizes.  I now have several plastic boxes (chinese takeaway boxes worked fab, used them all. must eat more Chinese hee hee) with varying sizes of scraps.  Took a whole evening and a numb posterior!  But much easier to look for small pieces for tags etc.

Hope you are having a great week!  Take care. x

Party Parade

Hi quick post tonight.

Another last minute card for my daughter who has a birthday party on Sunday.

For this one I've used Party this Way flags in Real Red, Tempting Turqouise and Daffodil Delight.  The centres were stamped with stamps from Pennant Parade.  I added brads to the corners and looped ribbon as little tags to the top.  The sentiment was stamped from Party this Way.  I mounted the panel onto Real Red card stock before attaching to the Whisper White card base.

I would like to put this card into CAS-ual Fridays which this week is to add ribbon loops but bows don't count.

Also I would like to enter this card into the Friday Mashup which this week is to use brads or autumn or combine both.  For this week I've just used brads.

Come back tomorrow and see the new catalogue which launches on the 1st.  It's so exciting!!

A big welcome to Kasey and Lindsay so nice to see you following!

That's it for today, have a great weekend. x

Thank You Pennant Parade

A wee card to share with you today.  It's only 3" by 3" however I think little cards can still pack a big punch.

It's another sneak peak folks!  A little bit more of Pennant Parade and an introduction to some of the new In Colours - Pool Party and Island Indigo.  Aren't they fab together?  The tiny sentiment is also from the same stamp set and the card base is Whisper White.  The centre pennant has been punched out using the new punch which goes with the set - Petite Penant Builder Punch.  I popped it up with some Dimensionals.

I think this will become a very popular stamp set as it's very versatile (see my previous post to see it turned into a Christmas Tree).  Most of the sentiments are small enough to be used with the Jewellery Tag punch or placed inside the flags.

If you would like to be one of the first to have this set then you can e mail me on ails300@btinternet.com and your order can be placed on the 1.10.

Thanks for looking and a big Hello to Laurie, thanks for following! x

I'm entering this card into CAS-ual Fridays which for this mean they are looking for mini cards.
Also Less is More which is anything goes this week and they are hoping for 1000 entries to celebrate having 1000 followers.  They are about a third of the way there so come on crafters pop your LIM cards and help them to reach 1000!

Sneak Peak- Gate Fold Christmas Card

Here's a little sneak peak from the new catalogue which comes out in October.

I've made a gate fold card this time using Cherry Cobbler as my base. The patterned paper panels are Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper (this is now sold out but don't worry we have a new set of Christmas papers in the new catalogue) which I've mounted onto Basic Black.

Have you spotted the little trees?  These are from one of the new stamp sets Pennants Parade and the tag is also from a new set called Tags till Christmas.  Two very exciting new sets which I'm sure you'll see a lot more of shortly. I've stamped them in Old Olive and the tree bases in Basic Black.

My sentiment which you can just see on the inside is from the hostess set Occasional Quotes.  You still have time to earn this set with the appropriate order or party.  Be quick though as it is only available up until the end of this month!

Have I teased you enough? I can start taking orders from the 1st Oct but in the meantime you can still order from the old catalogue.  I'd love to hear from you on ails300@btinternet.com.

Here's the supply list
All Stampin' Up! unless otherwise stated

Ink - Old Olive, Basic Black

Two new challenges

Fox and Friends, in the case the little tortoise, has popped in to say Happy Birthday!

My daughter needed a birthday card for a party she's going to this weekend so I decided to try merging two challenges.  New ones for me.

The first is ColourQ where you are to use the following colours -

Don't they look scrummy together?

And the second challenge is Freshly made Sketches which is only in it's second week.  For this challenge you are to follow the sketch in a clean style.  It doesn't have to be square but should be recognisable as the sketch.

So onto my card.  I've used a Tempting Turquoise card base covered with Certainly Celery which has been embossed with Perfect Polka Dots.  My Whisper White panel was stamped with the tortoise from Fox and Friends in Basic Grey adding a little Certainly Celery with my Blender Pen.  I then added a pennant from Party This Way in Poppy Parade.  The Happy Birthday is from this set too and has been punched out with the Word Window Punch then set onto a strip of Poppy Parade card punched with the Scallop Edge Punch. A little Rhinestone Brad finishes off.

The sentiment in the pennant is a sneak preview from the new catalogue, Pennant Parade.  I know not much of  a tease but I might have some more for you in the coming weeks.  Remember the mini catalogue and retiral list are finishing at the end of this month.  You can order items from myself by contacting me on ails300@btinternet.com.

Thanks for coming by today.  x
