Christmas Stars

Oooh I've been experimenting this morning.  This weeks challenge at Less is more is stars.  Mmmm what to do?

As Pennant Parade was still out on my desk I decided to use it's little star.  I wanted to create the shape of a Christmas tree so had a few practise runs on scrap paper.  Then hit on the idea of just using Christmas lights instead and so created this contemporary shape.

I drew a tree very lightly in pencil and then stamped my string of lights.  I wanted to combine traditional colours with the modern design so used colours from the regals selection - Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler.  I like that the stars look vintage and well worn.

To give some extra sparkle, I've used shimmer card as my card base.  Hopefully you can see the subtle shimmer below.

I'd like to try this out again perhaps next time using colours from the brights selection.  It's a little bit of a faff drawing up your tree but very relaxing when you come to stamping so much so you can forget the time.  Unfortunately can't play any longer as daughter has a couple of activities on today.

It's now evening and I never got the chance to post this earlier this morning.  So tonight I decided to try out a brights combo - Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry.  I stripped the design down further and just mounted it onto Basic Black before attaching to a Real Red card base.

So I'm off to post this now, thanks for taking a look, I appreciate your visit. x

Baby Tees

Good Evening Everyone.

Here is my second baby card for this week.  I know of  two baby boys that were born last weekend!

For this one I followed the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and teamed Bashful Blue with So Saffron.

I love the Baby Tees Wheel as it's so quick and easy to create a background or cut out the individual tees.  You can colour them or leave it plain as you wish.

For my message tag I used welcome baby from the retired set Punch Bunch and added Congratulations from Occasional Quotes (also now retired).  To make the pointy end, I placed one end into one of the corners a square punch.  The welcome baby tag is popped up on some Dimensionals and a Basic Pearl finishes it off.

That's it for me this evening, it's been great to play around in my crafting supplies again.  Happy crafting everyone! x

Baby Love

Hi Everyone.

Finally managed to do some crafting after our family holiday in Florida.  We had a super time visiting Mickey and friends, going on rides and shopping.  Also managed few trips to Michaels and Joanns.

So now that the family are back into routine I thought I would get cracked on with some new baby cards that I need.  Here's my first one which fits the Less is More challenge this week to use polka dots.  I'm hoping that my mojo came back with me and isn't still partying it up in Florida!  It was really strange picking up my crafting tools after such a long break.

Here's the details of my card -

The card base is Crumb Cake.  I used some patterned paper from Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper.  I stamped Fox and Friends in Bashful Blue, Crumb Cake and So Saffron on Whisper White which was then mounted onto Crumb Cake.   "baby" and "love" were stamped in Bashful Blue from Pennant Parade.  Linen Thread was used to hang the tags and a small Basic Pearl finishes it off.

A little tip to share.  I was literally becoming swamped in scraps so decided to sort them out into rough sizes.  I now have several plastic boxes (chinese takeaway boxes worked fab, used them all. must eat more Chinese hee hee) with varying sizes of scraps.  Took a whole evening and a numb posterior!  But much easier to look for small pieces for tags etc.

Hope you are having a great week!  Take care. x

Delicate Doilies

Hi there Folks.  I'm so excited to tell you all the exciting news today!
The wait is over, our new catalogue is avaliable now!  Have a look -

You can view the online catalogue by clicking here.  It's also on my side bar so you can come back as often as you like.  If you prefer to look through your own book then why not get in touch by e mailing ails300@btinternet.com and I'd be happy to post one out to you.  The catalogue costs £4 (rrp £5.95).

Lots of new items are included this year.  Not only new stamp sets but also new ribbons, brads, punches, builder rollers, and of course the Big Shot from the mini catalogue to name a few.  If you enjoy sewing then we now have material which matches our colours and also matches stamp sets.  However you don't need to sew to use the material as this can add a lovely accent to cards as shown in our new catalogue (after all it is an idea book too!).  Combined with the Big Shot the projects that you can achieve are endless.

As if having the new catalogue for October wasn't enough we also have an exciting promotion too!  Have you ever thought about becoming a demonstrator yourself?  Well this might just be the incentive for you because if you join in the month of October then you will receive the 5 new in colour ink pads and matching cardstock (20 sheets, 4 of each colour) as part of your starter kit which has a value of £27.95.  The starter kit is already an amazing price of £119 for products worth in the region of £250.  This amazing starter kit can be tailored to your taste by allowing you to choose colours and stamp sets that you want.

Have a look at the flyer on my side bar.

Finally I have a card to share with you today featuring one of the new stamp sets.  The challenge this week over at Less is More is to feature a colour on your card, the colour of your eyes.  My eyes are blue so here's my card -

I decided Delicate Doilies was a good choice because your eyes have similar patterns if you look closely or is just mine?

As we all like sparkly eyes I used Shimmery White card stock.  It really does give a subtle shimmer as you can see below (hopefully!)

I stamped the large doily in Bashful Blue and the smaller in Marina Mist.  I liked the closeness of the two colours.  Friends is from Tiny Tags.  The front panel was layered onto the card base using Dimensionals.

Well thanks for looking tonight and one more thing I'm excited about - it's my birthday tomorrow!  Better turn in soon as I'm sure I'll be woken early with a rendition of Happy Birthday from my children! x

Here's the supply list -
