It's Been Awhile!

Wow it's been awhile!

Thought I'd share a little project that has taken me probably around two years to complete.  If I'd sat down and just got on with it, it would have only taken about 3 days.  Have you ever had any projects like that?  I have to give credit to my Mum who stood at my shoulder helping me understand the instructions.

I followed a pattern from an Amy Butler book and used her fabric too.

I'm so proud of myself as it's my first major project doing grown up sewing!  Here's a pick of the middle complete with lining and divider and metal clasp thingies.

Did I pack up the sewing machine for another couple of years?  Nope whilst it was out I made a little thingy ma jig for a friends birthday which I will proudly show you at a later date.

It's been hard to find my crafty mojo and for awhile I thought it had completely deserted me, but I think I've rediscovered it.  Making a totally different project has certainly helped.

Take care. xx

Fabulous En Francais Note Book

Our card swap group was challenged this month to make a post it note book.  Here's how I decorated mine.

My post it notes were lime green so I chose Gumball Green as my cover.  I embossed En Francais in gold and sponged the edges with Summer Starfruit then matted onto Basic Black.  To add some colour I stamped Fabulous Florets in Gumball Green and Strawberry Slush then fussy cut out.  I wrapped the flowers around the edge so they also decorated the spine.  Then a few Basic Rhinestones add a touch of bling.

En Francais makes a super background whether it's embossed or not.

It was fun making something other than a card this month.

As it's wednesday we have a new set of deals to show you.  Is there anything in there that inspires you?

Chalk Talk Gift For You

As promised I'm popping in today to show you the other item we made at the workshop party.  The request was for a post it note holder so this is what we made.  I used Crumb Cake as a the base and the designer paper from Epic Day.  The ladies were so impressed with this paper, they thought it had been stamped.  We then made decorated label using Chalk Talk.  In this example I had embossed the filigree with clear embossing powder after stamping it in Basic Grey.  Looks black in this photo.  The middle was punched out and the label raised on Dimensionals.  The For You is stamped in Gumball Green.  Various snippets of ribbons were added to the pen holder.

It was fun to make a project that wasn't a card.

I'm excited today my daughter is back home from her trip and I'm looking forward to hearing all her stories!

In the meantime here's a couple of photos of my other little girl who had her first hair cut this week.

Here she is all scruffy.  (If you think her eyes look funny it'll be because I tried to remove the red eye!!)

And here she is all trimmed and smelling lovely.  Whether because it was so exciting being in the doggy parlour or it was a traumatic experience she just wanted to lie down and sleep the rest of the afternoon!

Take care and wishing you a lovely weekend.  x

Chalk Talk Tags

I'm sharing a couple of tags with you today that I demonstrated at a recent workshop party.  They are so simple to make but are really effective.  This first one is a normal straight forward tag with the stamped image cut out then mounted onto the corresponding framelit in Very Vanilla.  I stamped the tag from Chalk Talk in Early Espresso then rubbed over it using a Sponge Dauber with Crisp Cantaloupe.  I got this idea from Dawn's Stampin Studio and you can see a video tutorial here

Everyone was a little nervous stamping with this large tag but it took the ink really well and they all made fab tags.  It's lovely to see the smiles when they saw perfect results!

I was a little nervous rubbing the ink over the tag but there's no need to worry with the coloured inks just let Black or White dry a little longer.  I learnt that the hard way when I made the example below!

This tag is Basic Black stamped onto Whisper White.  Then a second tag is stamped.  Let it dry completely!  Then rub a colour over the something banner.  This can be cut out and attached with some Dimensionals.  I added a Basic Rhinestone to each off the corners for extra glam.  The base for the tag was cut from a folded piece of Basic Black card stock.  I placed the edge of the framelit past the fold so it didn't cut through and created a folded tag. This could be used for a special message inside or you could make a little pocket for some folded money.  Here it is open to let you see.

These tags can be used on their own or on a card and are great for any occasion.  Super to have this set on your shelf with Halloween and Christmas coming up.

Flitting in with a Butterfly Bookmark

Hello there!

I'm flitting in with a pretty butterfly bookmark.  I made this for my lovely Stampers 6 ladies who take part in my Virtual Hostess Club.  You can see information on it on the tab at the top of my page.  And I have 1 place left for the new club starting in October so drop me a line if you want to join in.

Each month I like to surprise them with a little something something!  This month I made a bookmark using the two sets of In Colours.  One set on one side and the other set on the back.   Sometimes it's easier to match your colours when you see them stamped.  At least that's what I think and I hope they will find it a handy tool as well as useful as a bookmark to keep their place in their catalogues!

The stamp set is Papillon Potpourri.  It has the cutest range of butterflies.  3 small and 3 larger.  I used the small on the bookmark and a larger one for the card. I was going to add more butterflies to the card but loved the simplicity of just the one with a Basic Rhinestone embellishment.

The sentiment comes from Happy Day.  I think this set has seem really useful sentiments in it which are great for cards but also scrapbooking.  Also you could just colour the one word.  For example on my card I could have just said Hello.

I'm trying to set up a scrapbooking class locally which would be kit based.  So if you are interested in "Scrapping your Memories" drop me a line or give me a call for more details.

Did you like the butterflies?  I'm excited to tell you that you can grab the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and matching Bitty Butterfly Punch in a bundle with 15% off!

Have a look here to see full details.  This promotion runs until end of September.

There's an overlap with the buy 3 get 1 free promotion on the designer series papers and the single stamps promotion so there's still time to take advantage of these offers too if you hurry!

And as if that isn't enough the new Seasonal Catalogue also launches today.

Flip through the virtual book here.  Lots of lovely goodies to get you thinking about your autumn/winter events.

Rather a long post today.  Hope you see some things that you like.  Happy crafting!  x

Stars and Stripes Money Wallets

Hi I'm popping in this evening to share with you Stars and Stripes Money Wallets I've made.  We are off on a very special holiday next month to celebrate my husband's special birthday.  So I made some money wallets for holding our spending dollars.

Each wallet had a Letter It monogram so we know who's is who's.  I kept the design very simple with a belly band to hold it closed.

Here's the wallet open showing the stripes and those all important dollars.  I knew I had a good reason for keeping all those scraps of card stock!

And where exactly are we going? .........New York, New York so good they named it twice!

Stampin' Up! Comfort Cafe and Bow Maker

Just popping in this evening to share with you a couple of little cards and a gift.  I made these for my Stamper's 6 Ladies.  I always like to pop in a card and a small gift to say thank you.  This month I made a Bow Makers using Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper as the decoration.  I found a tutorial that not only shows you how to make them but also how to use them.  You can see it here.

I added a large bow in Crochet Trim which they can attach to their own projects.  The little cards are also decorated with the designer papers and a bow.  This time made with the smaller bow maker.  The templates were attached to a book ring so the Ladies can add their own bow makers in different sizes if they wish to make some up themselves.

On the cards I added a frame from Four Frames punched out with the Decorative Label Punch and popped up on Dimensionals.

Interested in becoming one of my Stamper's 6 Ladies?  Drop me a line in ails300@btinternet.com for more info.

Stamper's 6 Elegant Butterfly Thank You's

Hello Peeps.  Staying cosy?

I've got a lovely set of little thank you's to share with you today now that the ladies in my current Stampers 6 Virtual Hostess club have received their parcels.  Aren't these sweet?

I used Sahara Sand for the base then added a panel of Sale-A-Bration's free Sycamore Street paper.  Did you get your free set during Sale-A-Bration?  I love these papers and still have a lot left so no doubt you will see more cards using it.  I stamped a slightly smaller panel of Whisper White with the sentiment from Bloomin' Marvelous (another set that was in Sale-A-Bration), in Sahara Sand.  I then punched out butterflies using the Elegant Butterfly Punch. This panel was popped up on Dimensionals and Viola a super quick set of little cards.

I always like to pop a thank you in my customers bags as I really appreciate their kindness to choose me as their demonstrator.  For my Stamper's 6 group I also pop in a little goody from me.  This month I took inspiration from the wonderful Vicky Hayes and made this little box.  I changed it a little to reflect the supplies I have.  For top and bottom I used a square of card folded and snipped.  Again that lovely Sycamore Street paper comes into play.  Do you see the little tags at the top?  They are using Canvas Creations which is great for punching out either using your punches or framelits.  It stamps brilliantly too as you can see on the little sentiment tag!  The butterfly has been spritzed using Stampin' Up!'s Spritzer filled with water, Marina Mist Reinker and Frost White Shimmer Paint.  So you can guess what I put inside for each of my ladies!  Yep their own Spritzer filled as above and a piece of Canvas Creations so they can try this out for themselves.

Would you like to receive a little gift in you parcel of goodies each month?  Well, I have
  2 places

I'd love to hear from you.  Thanks so much for popping by.  x
