Watercoloured Summer Silhouettes

Good Evening Folks!

I mentioned that I missed the Less is More water colour challenge but decided to make a card for it anyway.

I stamped a strip of water colour paper with Summer Silhouettes in Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Wild Wasabi, and Hello Honey.  I then used my Aqua Painter to spread the inks around. Once dry I used Versamark and White Embossing Powder for the blossoms.  I cut the strip up and placed onto Brushed Silver card.  The card base is Wisteria Wonder.  I added a little label in Whisper White using the Corner Rounder Punch.  The sentiment on the label is from Petite Pairs and the Congratulations is from For My Family.  Both were stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  I tied a little knot ribbon to finish off.

It took a few attempts to get an effect I liked but was well worth it and lots of fun too.

It's been a strange day today.  Last day of term and last day of primary school for my daughter who will move up to the Academy after the summer.

Here she was on her first day of Primary School.  Where have the years gone?

xx

Girly Need for Speed

This card is for my daughter who will be 11 tomorrow.  I've hopefully combined her girly side and her tomboy side.  She's a bit wild when she gets on a quad and is very speedy but has also started to think a little more about fashion.

I've started with Rose Red as the card base and added a layer of Whisper White.  I ran some Bashful Blue through the Cloudy Day Embossing Folder and added some Designer Series Paper - along the bottom.  The Rose Red Seam Binding brings in the pink from the card base.  I then cut a semi circle of Whisper White.  I stamped the quad bike from Need for Speed in Night of Navy and fussy cut out.  Then added this to the circle with Dimensionals.  I stamped the little sentiment below in Rose Red from Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired).  I then added "daughter" from For My Family in Rose Red and I punched it out with the Modern Label Punch.  A couple of Basic Rhinestones gives a little bling.

So we've got lots planned for tomorrow - cards to open, lunch out in town, birthday cake later but no pressies to open.  Which feels a bit strange as she has asked for money to put to her savings.  It all feels a bit grown up!

Thanks for your visit.  x

Happy Birthday Circle Circus

Belated Happy Easter.  Hope you haven't filled up on too many chocolate eggs.  I'm on a strict diet so no chocolate for me. :(

Moving quickly on, before I get cravings, my card today fits 3 challenges which I'll list at the end.

Here's how I made it.  So Saffron card base with a mat of Basic Black and Primrose Petal.  I wasn't sure of the in colours when they came out.  They were a bit on the, well, bold side..... but now I love them.  I stamped Circle Circus in Primrose Petals and So Saffron.  Then added some Basic Pearls.  The sentiment is from For My Family and punched out with the Modern Label Punch and popped up on Dimensionals.

I haven't adjusted to the clock change and keep thinking it's earlier than it is but here we are 6 o'clock and the tea isn't made.  Yikes!!

Catch up with you later once the hungry hordes are fed!  x

Dynamic Duos - Primrose Petals and Your Choice.  I chose So Saffron.

CASology - UP.  I thought my circles looked a bit like balls bouncing up so decided to enter it here too.

A snowy day

A snowy card for a snowy day.  I live in a village on the outskirts of Aberdeen (4 miles).  It snowed all day with us but when I went in to Aberdeen there was none.
It's official I stay in the frozen north!

So it seems appropriate to show you my snow man card made with Stylin' Snowfolk.  A little masking and shading for the snowy hill.  I made a twiggy bush (snowman arms actually) for the little robin to sit on and added glitter.  Mr Snowman's hat is popped up on a dimensional.  The sentiment is from For my Family stamped in Real Red and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.

So hopefully the rain will have washed it all away for tomorrow.

Hope you are all well. x

Snow Much Fun with Petals A Plenty

Hello Crafty Peeps!

I'm playing along with Merry Monday today.  The challenge this week is to use the colours Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist and Basic Grey.  Not colours I would have picked for a Christmas card but I love the contemporary look.  That's why it's good to try challenges, they stretch our imaginations.

I've also picked the sketch at CASe This Sketch to follow.

Here's the details of my card.  I've started with a Marina Mist card base.  I then embossed a Whisper White panel with the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder.  This was matted onto Brushed Silver to give a bit of sparkle.  I stamped my sentiment from For My Family in Pumpkin Pie.  This panel was corner rounded at two sides and attached to a mat of Marina Mist also corner rounded at two sides.  I added a Pumpkin Pie flag tag.  My cheeky snowman from Snow Much Fun was stamped in Basic Grey and coloured using my Blender Pen.  I punched him out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.  Then attached to a mat of Pumpkin Pie which was die cut with the Circles 2 Originals Die.

Another one for my box!

I had my daughter off school today with a cold.  She thinks she'll be ok for school tomorrow.  I'm starting to sneeze so perhaps Mum wont be so fit tomorrow!!

Hope you are all well.  Thanks for your visit. x

Ooops nearly forgot to add, thank you very much for my Honourable Mention at Merry Monday last week.  Such a boost! xx

Morning Post BFF

I've had a bit of a mojo freeze the last few days.  I saw the challenge on Saturday for Less is More which has a theme of Friends, and my mind went blank.  It's not a hard theme and I'm sure they have loads of entries already but it seems to have given me a mental block.

So this is what I've been working on the for the last couple of days!  I know it doesn't look a lot but I am very pleased with the end result, just took a long time to get here.

I started with a Whisper White base.  I added a Sahara Sand panel with an embossed row of cross stitching.  This is one of two new embossing folders from the Spring/Summer catalogue called Needlepoint Border.  They'll match up with the stamp set Hoop La La in the main catalogue brilliantly.

I stamped my letters from Morning Post in Pacific Point using my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to line them up.  Now I have to say at this point I spent ages lining my letters up.  Here's my first attempt -

Aren't those letters beautifully lined up?  But you'll have spotted the mistake.  Yep two B's and 1 F!! Doh!  Deep breath start again and the result is on the top card.  Lesson learned when trying to spell don't get too engrossed in the Great British Bakeoff!  It's the only reason I can think of for my mistake but I may still rescue this with a Best Buds Forever.  After all they are lined up brilliantly and it would be a shame to waste it.................

The hand is part of the stamp set and there are two so you can point in any direction.  I added "to my" from For My Family stamp set and snipped the ends into a ribbon banner.

I think this could suit a variety of reasons - birthday, thank you even a valentine's.

My son is quite put out.  5,000 schools closed but his isn't and we have snow!  Life is so unfair isn't it?

A big welcome to Shawn, thanks for joining my little blog.  Hope to see you visiting often.

I hope all is well with you.  Remember to pop back tomorrow for the start of SALE-A-BRATION.  It's going to be so exciting!! xx

Stylin' Snowfolk Hubby Card

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and Santa was good to you.  I was spoilt with some lovely new Stampin' Up! goodies.  Well it would have been wrong of me not to have prepared my own wish list!!  Hee Hee.

This is the card I made for my hubby.  As I've said before he likes cartoony or humourous.  Stampin' Up!'s Stylin' Snowfolk fit the bill.

I stamped one body in Marina Mist then masked it before stamping the second to make them cuddle up.  Then it was just a case of dressing them up.  My snow lady is dressed in the very fashionable Melon Mambo hat with Perfect Plum flower and Basic Rhinestone.  Her scarf  and snowman's bow tie are Cherry Cobbler.  Mr snowman's top hat is Marina Mist and both hats are popped up on dimensionals.  The panel is mounted onto Night of Navy before attaching to a Bashful Blue and Whisper White card base.  I used the little snowflake in Bashful Blue on the main panel and background.  Merry Christmas is from More Merry Messages and To my Husband is from For the Family.  I punched out the second with the Decorative Label Punch.

Thanks for your visit.  I'm hoping to get round everyone for a catch up in the lull of the festivities.  x

Pick a Square with Stampin' Up!

I had loads of fun making this card for my Aunt to give to her son.  I started with a Perfect Plum Card base and made square mats out of Elegant Eggplant.  I then added a further mat of Crumb Cake.  The Whisper White tops were punched out using the Square Punch and Curly Label Punch.

Each square is decorated with different stamps from the following sets - Stylin' Snowfolk, Mixed Medley, Snow Much Fun, More Merry Messages, Four Seasons, and Pennant Parade.

I added some dimension and sparkle using Dimensionals for the punched circles and Silver Glimmer Paper.

It was so much fun to make all these little squares.  You can really let your creative juices flow.

Snow Much Fun Spinner Card

I had "Snow Much Fun" making this card for my Aunt to give to her grandson.  It's my first spinner card.  Just look at that naughty snowman.  He's throwing a huge snowball at the other one to knock his hat off!  And he has another one on stand by!!

I used my word Window punch to create the run for the snowman and stamped the snowball minus the bird.  I've coloured my snow men with Stampin' Write Markers from the Regals collection, also Bashful Blue and Marina Mist.  "Grandson" is from For my Family.  My go to set when I need to put a name on a card. I added some Cherry Cobbler  Dazzling Details to their hats and scarf.  So not a less is more card!!  But so fun.

A big Hello to my new followers.  Thanks so much for following my little blog.  x

Another Snow Much Fun

I love the snowmen in the Snow Much Fun set.  They are so easy to work with and have been perfect for me to use for my commission cards.  This is another in a set for my Aunt to give to her grandchildren.  This time, her teenage granddaughter, so I've given him a more grown up feel and trendy colours.

Don't you love purple and green together?  I've used Certainly Celery and Perfect Plum on my card today.  The background panel was embossed with Perfect Polka Dots.  I stamped my snowman in Marina Mist then punched him out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  I've coloured him using Stampin' Write Markers from my subtles pack.  He has a little sparkle on his buttons and pom pom from using Silver Dazzling Details Glitter Glue.  I attached him to the main panel using Dimensionals.  "Granddaughter" and "Merry Christmas" are from For My Family and I used the Decorative Label Punch to punch them out.  Then I attached them under the main panel.

This weeks cue card from CASology is Time

It took me a bit of time to think about this.  Then I thought about taking time out.  So my card is about taking time to enjoy the simple things in life such as playing in the snow, sledging, snow ball fights, building snow men.  I'm the first to complain when the snow arrives.  It's difficult to get about and it's cold and I hate driving in it.  But it does make us all slow down, literally.  I've had great fun days with my kids doing all those snowy activities when adults can also be kids again.
When's the last time you sledged down a hill?

Ok enough rambling and having said all that please don't snow yet!!!

I'd also like to enter this into Addicted to CAS which has a code word of Snow.

Thanks for your visit.  Keep cosy. x

It's Snow Much Fun with Stampin' Up!

My card today is this fabby fun image from Stampin' Up's Snow Much Fun.  Isn't he brill?

I stamped him in Night of Navy, then coloured him with my Stampin' Write Markers.  He's standing a top a snow hill created with torn Whisper White paper and sponged ink.  I added Grandson from For My Family and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  The little sentiment at the bottom is also part of the Snow Much Fun stamp set.

This card is for my Aunt to give to her Grandson.  Hope she likes it.

A Festive Cupcake!

Happy Halloween everyone!

House is all spooked up ready for tonight and we are suitably pumpkinned!!

However I'm sharing a festive card with you today for the challenges

CAS-ual Fridays - Using Kraft
CASology - Sugar

Cupcakes are so popular just now and not just for birthdays.  So I decided to make a festive cupcake complete with Holly and fairy lights!  I used Stampin' Up!'s Create a Cupcake and the Cupcake Builder Punch.

The cupcake base and frosting are both popped up on a Dimensional.  The fairy lights were made with the little circles on the punch and joined using my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  The Holly berries are also made from the circles with some free hand cut holly leaves.  I added some gorgeous Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details glitter to give the berries a little extra shine and sparkle.

I then stamped Merry Christmas from For My Family in Real Red.

Thought I'd share some Halloween pics.  We are all prepared and have been since Saturday when we had a family Halloween party.

A few gravestones, some spooky treats, 4 pumpkins!, papermache heads, lots of cobwebs (I dusted before we put these up honest!).

We even had a hanged man outside - Henry - but as we had snow it was rather wet and his head fell off. Then with the rain during the night he disintegrated.  However I'm away to set up outside the leg and foot coming out of the mouth of one of the pumpkins.  A man eating pumpkin mwahhaahaa (evil laugh!)

Have a safe but scary one!! x

Summer Silhouettes at the Tea Shoppe

Stampin Ups Summer Silhouette flowers in a Tea Shoppe Cup

Hi Everyone.  A quick post for you today.

I've made a card for Freshly Made Sketches

Instead of the ribbon, I've stamped the pattern from Summer Silhouettes, one of the new sets from the current Stampin' Up! catalogue, in Summer Starfruit onto the same coloured card stock, then stamped my sentiment in Elegant Eggplant from For My Family.  The card base is also Elegant Eggplant.  The main panel is made up of Whisper White and Baja Breeze.  I've used the large tea cup from Tea Shoppe in Elegant Eggplant and filled it with flowers from Summer Silhouettes.  I added the really small Basic Pearls for a little interest.

I'm off to tidy up and prepare dinner for tonight.  It's our 15th Wedding Anniversary so best make it a little special.

Thanks for your visit.  It's always appreciated. x

Anniversary Owls

Happy Birthday to me!  Lots of spoiling going on today and time for a little crafting too.

This month is also our 15th Wedding Anniversary so the challenge over at Less is More couldn't be better as it's Love and Marriage.

I've been having a lot of fun with the Owl Builder Punch lately and as my hubby likes cute or funny I decided the owl should make another appearance.

I punched two owls out of Basic Black and used the Bird Builder Punch for the branches and the wing.  I made a mask for the setting sun and sponged Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler.  Added the owls etc on top.  I stamped To My Husband from For My Family and Happy Anniversary is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  A little heart from the Owl punch in Red Glimmer paper finishes it off.

Now to think of a suitable quip for the inside. Also I'll need to ban hubby from looking on here till the 11th.  He'll be devastated, I know!

Do you feel like a little spoiling?  Grab yourself a cuppa and have a seat to browse through our new annual catalogue.  It's bigger than before and well worth a look.  Fancy receiving these products at a discount?  Then why not think of joining up as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  You'll definitely be spoiled because if you sign up in either October or November you will receive a free set of designer series paper each month for 6 months!!

I'm off to put my feet up now.  Hope you've had a fun day too. x

Broadsheet Happy

Hi crafty peeps!  I've been very happy today playing with my new Broadsheet Alphabet.  Also having a sneaky play with the new in colours for 2012 - 2014.  Don't they look so bright and happy together?

I stamped each letter then punched with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and mounted them onto a black panel.  I used my Scoring Board to add a couple of score lines underneath the panel.  Then lined up birthday, from For My Family, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig along the top.  I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to only ink up the word birthday.

I've followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

Nearly the end of the first week back at school.  Are all you Mum's enjoying the peace?  I seem busier than ever and 3pm comes round all too fast.  However todays busy was making cards so that's not too bad!  I was busy preparing for tonights card class and what a giggle it was.  Thanks ladies!  I'll show you the cards we made soon.

Welcome to Mary, thanks for choosing to follow my little piece of blogland.  Hope to see you often.

Motorbike 4 You and I Spy Sketches

Good morning!  I have a masculine card to share today.

This one uses the Motorcycle stamped in Island Indigo and sponged around the edges with Pool Party.  It's mounted onto Island Indigo.  I've attached a tag with 4 You from Tiny Tags, punched out with the Jewellery Tag Punch but I snipped off the rounded top.

The top paper in the background is from Paisley Petals and the bottom paper is out of the Neutrals Stack.  These were mounted onto Island Indigo with a strip of the same running over the join.  I stamped Happy Birthday from For My Family in Island Indigo onto the patterned paper.   The card base is Pool Party.

I've followed the sketch over at I Spy Sketches

I'm also going to pop this into Make My Monday which is Male Sports or Hobbies.  (My Hubbies hobby is Motorbikes)

Well a quiet day today as the children are back to school.  So it's housework time!  Thanks for popping in by. x
