Flitting in with a Butterfly Bookmark

Hello there!

I'm flitting in with a pretty butterfly bookmark.  I made this for my lovely Stampers 6 ladies who take part in my Virtual Hostess Club.  You can see information on it on the tab at the top of my page.  And I have 1 place left for the new club starting in October so drop me a line if you want to join in.

Each month I like to surprise them with a little something something!  This month I made a bookmark using the two sets of In Colours.  One set on one side and the other set on the back.   Sometimes it's easier to match your colours when you see them stamped.  At least that's what I think and I hope they will find it a handy tool as well as useful as a bookmark to keep their place in their catalogues!

The stamp set is Papillon Potpourri.  It has the cutest range of butterflies.  3 small and 3 larger.  I used the small on the bookmark and a larger one for the card. I was going to add more butterflies to the card but loved the simplicity of just the one with a Basic Rhinestone embellishment.

The sentiment comes from Happy Day.  I think this set has seem really useful sentiments in it which are great for cards but also scrapbooking.  Also you could just colour the one word.  For example on my card I could have just said Hello.

I'm trying to set up a scrapbooking class locally which would be kit based.  So if you are interested in "Scrapping your Memories" drop me a line or give me a call for more details.

Did you like the butterflies?  I'm excited to tell you that you can grab the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and matching Bitty Butterfly Punch in a bundle with 15% off!

Have a look here to see full details.  This promotion runs until end of September.

There's an overlap with the buy 3 get 1 free promotion on the designer series papers and the single stamps promotion so there's still time to take advantage of these offers too if you hurry!

And as if that isn't enough the new Seasonal Catalogue also launches today.

Flip through the virtual book here.  Lots of lovely goodies to get you thinking about your autumn/winter events.

Rather a long post today.  Hope you see some things that you like.  Happy crafting!  x

Gingham for Dirt?!

A boy birthday card today using retired Need For Speed.  This is a super set for those masculine cards.   I do hope you got your hands on it before it retired.  It's still a fairly new set to me so it wont be disappearing from my shelf any time soon.

I've used the Quad image on this card and stamped it in Marina Mist then fussy cut out. The background has been torn around the edges and has some Crumb Cake dust sponged on using a Sponge Dauber.  The dirt trail is Cajun Craze and I used a new Wheel - Gingham.  Hah bet you never looked at it in the catalogue and thought dirt!  I think it makes super Quad bike trails though. To make the Quad bike a bit 3d I added some Dimensionals just to the wheels.

I mounted this onto Cajun Craze card stock before attaching to a Crumb Cake base. The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes also a retired Hostess set stamped in Marina Mist. I punched it out using the Modern Label Punch and mounted onto Cajun Craze punched with the Decorative Label.

Hostess sets are brill value.  They are reduced to make those pounds stretch further and I'm loving the new sets in the main catalogue.  A gorgeous choice to choose from but this section is only for hostesses.  You don't need to have a party, although it is fun to have a get together with crafty chums.  You could be a hostess by placing an order of £150 or by joining my Stampers 6 club.  I have one place left for a new club starting in October and you could be hostess for one of the months.  Have a look at my Virtual Hostess Page for further details or get in touch to place an order or better still book a party!

I'm popping this into seize the birthday where it's anything goes.

Hope your week is going well.  Take care.  x

Washi Off The Grid

I've got a funky congratulations card for you today.  This is heading to my Niece who has past her exams and will be starting a Primary Teaching course at Aberdeen Uni in September.  Well done Lisa, so proud!

This weeks challenge at Less is More is to use Washi Tape.  I have used mine from the Epic Day range as the beige tape has numbers on it, I thought this would be appropriate for my Niece.  By the way Washi Tape is great.  If you make a mistake you can peel it off and try again.  Just be gentle with the peeling off or it could tear your paper.  Don't rip it off like a plaster, ouch!

I stamped over the washi tape at an angle with the Off the Grid stamp and embossed in silver.  Then it is was just a case of adding the sentiment.  For this I stamped in Tangerine Tango and clear embossed then fussy cut out and popped it up on dimensionals.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out.  Great when an idea works out as you thought.

Can you believe next week is September?  My daughter goes on her Primary 7 trip at the beginning of September and it came as a shock to realise that means it's next Monday!  Somehow I thought I had another week to go.  So best dash and get her kit organised.  Before I go though.  Take a look at my Virtual Hostess Page.  I have one space left for the new Stampers 6 club starting in October.  Drop me an email if this appeals to you - ails300@btinternet.com

Timeless Talk

Hello There!

How have you been this week?  I'm flying in with a card for less is more which closes very soon.  This week's challenge is

For our theme this week our challenge is
ROUND AND ROUND
For this you may use any image which implies this movement...ie things with wheels or which move in this manner etc or in fact cards with some moving parts.

So you might think bikes or cogs or cars etc but I started to think about the old fashioned dials on phones before we got all touch screen hi tech.  Not quite as old fashioned as the one on my card from Timeless Talk I might add but more like this-

Do you remember these?  The wire would get all twisted, your fingers would stick in the dials, you had to make sure you turned the dial all the way round or you had to start again!

As the dial is my focus I stamped the image again this time punching out the dial with the 3/4" punch.  Then to make it so it would turn I added a Candy Dots Brad Base with a Purple Candy Dot through the dial and through a Dimensional.  These candy dots are super by the way.  You can add any colour you want and customize your own brads!  The dimensional only had the paper removed from the one side so it wouldn't stick to the dial allowing it to move.  Here's a close up and I've moved the dial to let you see.

The speach bubble and sentiment come from the same set and I used a Stampin' Write Marker to draw a line and ground the image.

So I could be saying Hello There to you if you decide to join my Stamper's 6 club starting in October.  Have a look at my Virtual Hostess Tab at the top to see all the details!

Enjoy your weekend!  xx

Happy Birthday 2 U!

Happy Birthday 2 U!

A one layer card for Less is More using numbers is the challenge this week.  I've used a retired stamp set - Party This Way - for the Happy Birthday.  This set has balloons with numbers on them which I've used loads of times before but decided I'd just go with the funky sentiment.  I stamped stars from Simply Stars but stamped off first.  I then added the 2 U from Outline Alphabet & Numbers and coloured in with Stampin' Write Marker Peach Parfait.  Then it was time to have fun with the rest of the numbers.  Did you spot the deliberate mistake (not)!  I accidentally stamped the 4 in Tangerine Tango so did some more to make a feature of it.  I've now got an aged 4 card!  Hee Hee.

You'll see I've been mixing old sets with new.  It's fun to receive new sets but also not to neglect your old.

I'm pleased to say that I will have a new Virtual Hostess Club starting in October.  I'd love to help you to build up your stash of new goodies.  It's a super way to spread out your wish list and I can help give you some inspiration for your old sets too!  Have a look at the Virtual Hostess Page to see the details of the club or drop me an e mail - ails300@btinternet.com.

We've had a great day today.  I'm loving this weather.  Here's an up to date pic of Jess at the park.

She was a great hit receiving loads of attention.

Speak to you next time. x

Thank You Petals A Plenty

Happy Friday Everyone!

I'm stopping by to share with you a little Thank You card and gift I made for my lovely Stampers 6 Ladies in my Virtual Hostess Club.  It's a sweet little card using Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder in Strawberry Slush and the new Label Love stamp set in Smoky Slate with co-ordinating Artisan Label Punch.  The little sentiment comes from Pretty Petites (retired) and punched out with the extra sweet Petite Curly Label Punch.  It's popped up on a DImensional onto a a mat of Pistachio Pudding punched out with the 3/4" Circle Punch.  A little Whisper White Organza Ribbon runs behind it.

The gift is a tub of Vanilla Embossing Powder which I decorated the top.  Using punches again - Scallop Circle, 1" Circle, Elegant Butterfly, Bitty Butterfly.  The Bitty Butterfly centre piece is Silver Glimmer Paper.  Got to love this stuff, all the glitter and none of the mess!

I currently have one place available in my Stampers 6 - Virtual Hostess Club starting in October.  If you would like to spread your wish list and be a hostess for one of the months then please get in touch.  I'm happy to go over all the details with you and would love to help you with your crafty projects.

Precious Baby Just the Ticket

Another clean and simple baby card for you.  This one was for a 1st birthday for a sweet baby boy.

So easy with a few party balloons from Party This Way and this cute little ticket from That's the Ticket punched out with the co-ordinating punch.

Yesterday was a day of errors.  Hubby had a real bad start to the day when reversing into his parking space at work he broke his back window.  Jess (our puppy) didn't notice that her puppy pad had been lifted so I could hoover and did a pee anyway which I then didn't notice and walked through it!  My daughter who has just had her ears pierced when cleaning them dropped one down the sink.  So Mum to the rescue took off the u bend making sure I had a basin under it.  Yep not so daft!  Found said ear ring and poured the dirty water back into the sink whilst I still had u bend in my hand.  Yep really daft!!!  Only one who didn't have a disaster was my son.

Hope your day goes without calamity!  xx

Baby Tees Christening Card

This is a super quick post and a super quick card.

I made a very  simple Christening card using the Baby Tees Wheel in Lucky Limeade.  I used the So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker to add some colour then cut out and popped up on Dimensionals to a square of Whisper White.  This was then matted onto Brushed Silver and attached to a card blank.

Can't believe how fast we are moving through the summer holidays.  Hope you are having fun whatever you are doing.

Take care.  xx

Summer Silhouettes in Crushed Curry

Dashing in tonight with a card for this week's Less is More.  We have been given an absolutely stunning photo for our colour inspiration this week.

I've in part followed the composition as well as the colours.

I've used Naturals White for my card base.  I love using this with Stampin' Up!'s Summer Silhouettes.  I cut 3 pieces of Whisper White of different sizes.  Then stamped the flowers in Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry and Basic Black.  The middle panel is popped up on Dimensionals.  I added a strip of Basic Black card and Sahara Sand.  Again I've used the sentiment from So Happy For You (retired) it just seemed to fit so well.  Always hang onto your sentiment sets they come in so handy.

We've been to a christening this morning.  Early rise for all!   My niece surprised us all by singing Adele's Make you Feel My Love for her sister's baby.  Not a dry eye!  She was wonderful.   So was baby too I might add.

Mini Mosaic Madness

Hello Everyone.

Another Card Swap Group card to share.  This one was for last months when we were challenged to make a small 3" by 3" card.  I reached for Mosaic Madness.  I've used Sahara Sand as the card base. Then some of the new colours to the catalogues - Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay.  I've used the new Mosaic Punch and popped up two of them on Dimensionals.  For the sentiment I used the little Itty Bitty Banners and die cut with the matching Bitty Banners Framelit.

A couple of new promotions to tell you about.  Firstly a freebie.  During August you can have some free papers yep I said free!  But 3 packs and choose a 4th for free.

Click here to see the flyer in full detail.

Secondly here is your next instalment of the Best Of series.  This month its the Best of Shelli.

I was catching up with a friend today and telling her all our tales of our hols so thought I'd share another couple of pics.  Here's my handsome boy on a rather hot crowded ferry on our way to see Lady Liberty.

Arty shot of shadow, crowd queueing to get back on ferry and Manhattan in the distance.

Best holiday ever!!!
