In with the new, out with the old.

Oh boy it's certainly weather for the ducks and the penguins.  It's rain, rain, rain and freezing to boot!

To explain my post title, my card uses a set that is sadly leaving us at the end of the month but also uses some new products from the new mini starting in May.

I was having a play getting inky last night.   I played around with several neutrals - Sahara Sand, River Rock, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede - and Baja Breeze.  I stamped Fruit and Flowers in Pacific Point with a few flowers in the background in Baja Breeze stamped off first.  Little pearls from the Basic Pearls set were added to the flowers.

I added Happy Birthday from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Soft Suede then mounted it onto a panel of Pacific Point.

For my card base I used Crumb Cake.  Did you notice the fancy edge to my card?  It's cut with an Edgelit Die from the new catalogue and it's also embossed with a matching  Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I attached a strip of Pacific Point to the inside of the card which shows nicely against the fancy edge.

So it's the last few days of the Spring mini catalogue.  I'd hate you to miss out on any products you'd been eyeing up.

Thanks for coming past and visiting.  Hope it's dry where you are. x

A Fruity trio

This card started out it's life intended for a challenge until I realised the squares were just too big for the sketch we were given.

However I liked the arrangement so made it up into a card anyway.

The fruits are from Fruit and Flowers.  One of the stamp sets in the Spring Mini which runs until the end of April.  I stamped in Real Red then again in Lucky Limeade and paper pieced the leaves and stalk of the strawberry. The squares were mounted onto Basic Black.

I've added a strip of designer paper along the bottom from Everyday Enchantment.  A free set of papers from Sale-A-Bration when you spend £45.  A quick reminder, Sale-A-Bration ends this month!  So hurry if you want to take advantage of the free sets on offer.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and stamped in Real Red then punched out using Curly Label Punch.

Thanks for coming in past, hope your week is going well. x

Fruit and Flowers Best Wishes

The Friday Mashup this week is all about colour - Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, and Blushing Bride.  You can create a project with these colours or use paper piercing or mash it up and do both.  I've combined this with the sketch challenge over at Simply Stampin' -

I love these colours together, they are so yummy.  I've made a best wishes card but it could pass for lots of occasions.

My card base is Riding Hood Red.  I matted Early Espresso onto Blushing Bride after embossing it with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I then punched out 6 squares of Blushing Bride using the 1 3/8" square punch and 6 squares of Very Vanilla with the 1 1/4" square punch.  I corner rounded two edges on each of the Very Vanilla squares and sponged the edges with Riding Hood Red.  The flower is from Fruit and Flowers.  It was first stamped in Blushing Bride and the edges rolled in Riding Hood Red. The sentiment square was stamped with the flower in Blushing Bride only and was stamped off first so it faded into the background.  The sentiment itself is from Silhouette Sentiments and stamped in Riding Hood Red.

Fruit and Flowers and a lot of purple!

I love purple, I also like green, pink, blue, red........  perhaps red is my favourite colour but purple comes as a strong second.  Do you have a favourite colour?

For me it was no hardship to do this weeks challenge at LESS IS MORE which is to be predominantly PURPLE.  I've teamed this challenge with FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES and here's the sketch I followed -

So onto my card.  I've used Elegant Eggplant as my card base with Perfect Plum as a matt.  Before attaching the matt I used post its to mask off a strip.  I stamped the group of flowers/ leaves from Fruit and Flowers to make a pattern.  The same stamp was used to make a pattern on the Very Vanilla in Perfect Plum by stamping off on some scrap several times.  My thanks so much is from Pocket Silhouettes in Elegant Eggplant.

Then comes the fun toppers.  I love this flower and I'm sure I'll use it often.  For this card I stamped it in Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum.  Then cut them out using my paper snips.  The middles are the fabby In Colour Designer Printed Brads.  So much you could do with these middles - buttons, glitter, glimmer brads or just stamped in another colour.  Loads of possibilities.

Go check out Fruit and Flowers, one of the many fabulous new sets from the Spring Mini Catalogue.  This is the first year we've had a Spring Mini and it's well worth a look with lots of new items such as the Simply Adorned range.  This range includes jewellery, charms keys and crowns which will make a fab addition to your projects.

The Spring mini runs from 4th January until 30th April.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I look forward to seeing your projects too. x
