Recycled Owl

Have you had a good weekend? 

I do hope so! 

I've had a super day today.  Why?  Because I had loads of play time in the old craft area. 

I was determined to join in with Less is More as I missed it last week and it looked such a super challenge too.  Perhaps I'll make a card for it just for fun. 

Anyhoos onto today's card.  The challenge is to use a recycled item.  I also noticed that CASology has a code word of "Wood" and so my card started to take shape. 

I have an Early Espresso card base and I stamped the nest from Take Care in Whisper White and also the sentiment from Just Sayin'.  I tore some corrugated cardboard and added that along the back.  I then stamped onto some brown packaging paper that we always get tons off when ordering from Stampin' Up! I stamped Hardwood in Lost Lagoon and punched out using the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  I punched the owl using of course the Owl Punch and Bermuda Bay Card Stock.    I punched out his heart feathers from an egg carton.  Lucky me it was just the right colour.  Then he is attached with some Dimensionals.

It was fun to go raking through my recycling to find things to use and I'm pleased with the end result.

Hi Folks! 

Hope you have a fun Sunday planned.  We are off to the beach later.  Not to swim but to walk the dog.  Hoping it stays dry and isn't too windy.  We are in Aberdeen after all, beside the North Sea.  

Whilst having my alone crafty time yesterday, I made another card.  For this one I followed the sketch at CASe This Sketch.

I just had to try out another new product from the new catalogue.  Point & Click one of the new photopolymer stamp sets from Project Life.  That's not all that's new.  I've used the new In Colours for my stamping. 

I added a sentiment from Just Sayin to my speech bubble. I also scattered a few of the smallest Basic Rhinestones for some added sparkle. 

So that's it from me.  Hopefully we will see some sun on our walk.

Hey There Banner Blast

Good Morning.  

I should have made a blue card today as I'm feeling a little blue.  My little furry friend is at the vets for her spaying op :(

At least she isn't aware what's happening. 

So onto my card.  Not blue but neutrals for Margaret who is in the card swap group I am part of.  She is rather partial to neutrals so hope she likes this one!  Have a look at her blog she makes beautiful projects.   Our instructions for the card swap is to use banners. 

I've followed the sketch over at CASe this sketch for my card.  You can see it below.

I stamped Banner Blast in Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip and Baked Brown Sugar and punched out with the corresponding punch.  The star was repeatedly stamped without reinking.  The sentiment is from Just Sayin' and I used a Stampin' Write Marker to just colour the words.  The banners were attached with Dimensionals and decorated with Candy Dots.

I wasn't sure how this would turn out by using the sketch and including banners but I'm pleased with the result. 

As I've used 3 of the same colour I am going to add this into less is more.  

This has been a pleasant distraction from clock watching until it's time to pick up Jess and see how she is.

Just Sayin' Gee Thanks

A little card to share a big Thank You.  

This is my thank you card for last month's Stamper's 6 ladies.  I wanted to show that Zoo Babies can be used for more than baby cards.  

I used my Stampin' Write Markers to colour directly onto the stamps.  The sentiment is from Just Sayin' and die cut with the corresponding framelits.  The Whisper White panel has trimmed edges using the Tiny Wave Stampin' Trimmer Rotary Cutter.  This was so much fun to use.  I was almost searching round the house to see what else I could trim! 

It is always sad when a Stamper's 6 term finishes but it also means a new one is starting.  You are not too late to jump on board and be my newest member of the Virtual Hostess Club. Drop me a line.
