Watercolour Christmas

Bit of an experiment here.  I got out my Stamping' Up! Watercolour Pencils and paper and stamped these images from White Christmas. Then used an Aqua Painter to spread the colour around. I'm in awe of all those beautiful results you see on the net so much more practise required.

I mounted my panel onto Silver Foil then onto Whisper White before attaching to a Night of Navy card base.  I topped my water colour panel with a Window sheet and used Candy Dots to cover the Glue Dots in the corners.

I dusted off my Watercolour Pencils so I can join in this week's challenge over at Merry Monday

Doesn't this birdie look fab?  Mmm maybe I shouldn't pack the pencils away again quite so quickly and experiment some more!

See you next time.

Merry Gingerbread Man!

This little fellow makes me smile :)

He was very easy to put together with Stampin' Up! punches.  His body is the Owl Punch, His arms and legs are from the Modern Label Punch and his head is the 3/4" Circle Punch.  I used Soft Suede cardstock for his body.   The buttons were punched using Itty Bitty Shapes in Whisper White and the Owl Punch for the Real Red centres.

He is mounted onto a 2 1/2" Circle of Real Red with some Lucky Limeade Organza Ribbon attached to the back to make a loop.  I've hung him from the sentiment which was cut out using Expressions Framelits.  The background is the Embossing Folder Decorative Dots.  I've mounted this onto a mat of Real Red and attached to a card base of Soft Suede.

I used a White Gel pen to add decoration and the face to my gingerbread man and also to the card base.

So why have I been making gingerbread men?  Well that's the challenge over at Merry Mondays

Don't these guys look so cute?

A big thank you for my honourable mention ladies for last week's card.  So chuffed!

Deck the Halls

All the eggs have been eaten.  Easter holidays are over.  So it's time to think of Christmas?  No not really but I've joined in with Merry Mondays today and now have another Christmas card for my box!

The challenge is to use Christmas words and decorate the letters.  I've used a sentiment from Christmas Messages as my focal point and decorated the letters with my Real Red and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers.  I used Chalk Talk Framelits to make the label and decorated with the Little Leaves Sizzlits and Basic Pearls.  The background was made using the Music Note Wheel.

Funnily enough we were listening to Christmas music today!  I seem to still have a Christmas CD in my car and my son thought it would be funny to put it on with the window down as we drove through our village.  My daughter, her friend and my son's girlfriend were all in the car cringing as Slade's Merry Xmas Everbody blasted out.
What a giggle!!

Merry Christmas, I mean Easter to everyone!! xx

Take care with Joyful Tidings

Switch of direction today.  I'm back with Christmas.  The reason is, I love the colour challenge over at  Merry Monday.

I've used a Basic Grey card base with a mat of Cherry Cobbler and a panel of Whisper White.

I stamped the tree from Take Care minus the leaves by colouring the stamp directly with a Basic Grey Stampin' Write Marker.  The sentiment is from Christmas Greetings and stamped in Smoky Slate.  I've adorned my trees with some ornaments, punched using the Merry Minis Punch pack and then added some Basic Rhinestones for sparkle.

I'm rather pleased with the result.  It was nice to dip back into Christmas for awhile especially  as we are zooming towards Easter.  My goodness it's April next week!  Only a few more days left of Sale-A-Bration and the Best of series.  So do get in touch of you don't want to miss out.

Also only a couple of days before my stamper's 6 starts up again.  I've a couple of places left if you are interested in building your stash over a few months and taking advantage of the hostess benefits.  Have a look at my Virtual Hostess Page for details.  You don't need to stay close by because you can take part on line.

That's it from me but before I go here's a photo of my little cutie.

Mosaic Madness Christmas Baubles

How are you today?

I'm dropping in past to share a couple of cards that fit the challenge over at Merry Mondays.  The challenge is to use ornaments on your card.

I decided to use Mosaic Madness which makes a rather nifty ornament I thought.  I embossed them in gold on Basic Black card then punched out with the matching punch.  The card base is Whisper White with a mat of Basic Black before adding a further panel of Whisper White.  I stamped some Festive Flurry snowflakes in River Rock stamping off first.  Then added the swirl from Everything Eleanor to hang my baubles from.  The sentiment from Sassy Salutations was embossed in gold.  Basic Pearls finish off the ornaments.

I then tried another colour way using Real Red and added Santa from Santa's List in the corner.

Well that's it for me tonight.  Take care and stay crafty!  x

Stampin' Up!'s Santa's List in January

Stampin' Up!'s Santa's List is just adorable.  He has such a kind face.

I stamped Santa in Crumb Cake and coloured him in with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.    I then cut him out using the Festive Flurry Framelits and attached him to another snowflake in Real Red.  I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip.  The snowflake was attached to a panel of Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip. The Very Vanilla was sponged at the edges with Chocolate Chip.  I added Crochet Trim Ribbon to the top and bottom.

The sentiment is in Chocolate Chip and is from Christmas Messages.

I've joined in with the challenge over at Merry Mondays and used their recipe of Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Ribbon.

It's quite bitter outside today we may get some snow yet!  Stay cosy.  x

Festive Flurry Winter snowflakes

Wishing you all a Happy New Year and hope 2014 is all you'd wish it to be.

I'm joining you finally today as I'm trying to follow my New Year's resolution to be more organised around the home and therefore have more time to be crafty.  Unfortunately crafting has had to take a back seat lately and I've missed it so much!  So it was with happy delight I disappeared for a while today and made this card.

Now you can't be more organised than this.  First Christmas card for next year, I mean this year!  I must say I'm not really over Christmas yet.  I was quite sad to take all our decorations down.  No more sparkly lights to brighten up the dark nights. :(

I've used shades of blue to fit with the Less is More colour challenge this week.  Festive flurry is stamped in Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise and Soft Sky.  The sentiment is from That's the Ticket stamped in Tempting Turquoise and punched out using the Ticket Duo Punch. I used silver card stock as mats and added some silver ribbon to "hang" my ticket from.  I added some extra sparkle with 3 Basic Rhinestones of differing sizes.  I corner punched the main panel to reflect the ticket sentiment.

I'm also going to pop this into Merry Mondays which now has it's own blog.  This week you have to add twine or ribbon.

So I know I said this before, but in my defense Christmas came along, hopefully this is me back on track!

Looking forward to catching up with you all.

Take care, keep cosy and happy crafting!! x

Frosty Friends Postage Stamps

This was fun to make.  I've made a card to fit Merry Monday which has a theme of Snowmen and Freshly Made Sketches.  You can see the sketch below.
I've started with a Very Vanilla card base to match the Designer Series Paper - Be of Good Cheer.  It doesn't look like Christmas Paper does it?  In fact I may use it for a birthday next time!  The Scallop Edge Border Punch makes a snowy trim along the top in Whisper White.  The scrap strip, that the punch leaves, makes a nice trim along the bottom.  I stamped Frosty Friends in Basic Black twice and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch.  I then added some colour to the images with my Stampin' Write Markers - Cherry Cobbler, Riding Hood Red and Bashful Blue.  I mounted the stamps using Dimensionals onto a mat of Cherry Cobbler.  My sentiment comes from the fabby stamp set - That's The Ticket and punched out using the matching Ticket Builder Punch

My son gave me a request today.  "Mum when are you making that cake again?"  That cake is this one below which I have now made twice and both times disappeared faster than you could say Fluffy Vanilla Cake.  It was rather yummy!  So looks like I may be on baking duty again this weekend.

Take care and Happy Crafting!  x

Sassy Salutation Christmas

Hi there.

Another lovely day here, not in the least bit Christmassy but I like to join in with Merry Mondays when I can.  This week is a colour challenge - Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, River Rock.  Thanks so much for the honourable mention for last weeks card, girls.

I used River Rock as my card base.  Stamped some snowflakes from Four Seasons in Whisper White in the top corner.  Sassy Salutations is so funky it easily stands alone as the focal image.  I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler, then popped it up on Dimensionals.  For the Always Artichoke I struggled.  I don't have any card stock in this colour and I don't have the stamps that match this little Christmas tree punch.  So what to do?  Well I took a scrap of Whisper White and rubbed it directly onto my Always Artichoke ink pad.  It gave a lovely material look to my scrap (this is an original felt ink pad rather than the new foam pads).  I then punched out my trees.

I used the design on this weeks Muse card for my inspiration.

Isn't this card beautiful?  I really haven't done it justice.  Laurie Willison is our muse this week.

So how was your day today?  I was at Jazzercise this morning.  I need to work off all the home bakes I've eaten over the weekend! Think I better go tomorrow, the next day and the next..........  My neighbour runs a fantastic class locally so if you fancy joining me and working off those calories it would be lovely to see you there.

Want a look at the bakes?

This is all that's left.  I made them for the ladies that came along to my party on friday.  Every time I look round one of my family has one in their hands.  They wont last long.

Right carrot sticks for me for the rest of the week.  A big Hello to Guylaine, thanks for following me.  And thank you to CAS colours and sketches for my win for this card.  I'm so lucky.

Hope you have a lovely week.  x

A trio of Christmas Ornaments

A trio of ornaments for Merry Mondays this week where you can play tic tac toe.  I've chosen Red, Dry Embossing and Ribbon.

I stamped my three baubles in Cherry Cobbler, Riding Hood Red, and Real Red.  I used the matching Framelit to die cut one of the baubles and popped it up on Dimensionals.  I attached the Whisper White panel onto Basic Black.  I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Real Red and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  Strings of Basic Rhinestones add a little bling.  On the side panel I've embossed a strip of Real Red with the Petals A Plenty Folder and attached a little ribbon bow.

I followed the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches for this card.

I hope you are all well and enjoying your evening.  Can't believe it's almost the weekend.  Once again the week has flown past.  Not only that but February has disappeared too!

Ornament Keepsakes gone chic!

A simples simples card today.

I've used a Basic Black card base with a mat of Brushed Gold card stock then a panel of Whisper White.  I stamped the sentiment from Choc Full of Cheer in Versamark then embossed in gold.  I pierced a dotted line underneath.  I then stamped one of the ornaments from Ornament Keepsakes (did you notice that this set made it into the Spring/Summer mini catalogue?) in Versamark onto Basic Black.  I embossed this with gold also then cut out with my paper snips.  You can use framelits to die cut these ornaments but i didn't want a black border on this one.  I then popped it up on a dimensional.

I've attempted to go elegant chic for Merry Monday this week which is looking for an elegant theme.  You should check out the DT cards, they are fab!

CAS-ual Fridays determined my colour scheme - Black, White and 1 other (I've chosen Gold).

And for my design I followed the sketch at CASe This Sketch

Did you have a good weekend?  We've had a lovely sunny day here. 10 degrees no less positively summer like!!

Snow Much Fun with Petals A Plenty

Hello Crafty Peeps!

I'm playing along with Merry Monday today.  The challenge this week is to use the colours Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist and Basic Grey.  Not colours I would have picked for a Christmas card but I love the contemporary look.  That's why it's good to try challenges, they stretch our imaginations.

I've also picked the sketch at CASe This Sketch to follow.

Here's the details of my card.  I've started with a Marina Mist card base.  I then embossed a Whisper White panel with the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder.  This was matted onto Brushed Silver to give a bit of sparkle.  I stamped my sentiment from For My Family in Pumpkin Pie.  This panel was corner rounded at two sides and attached to a mat of Marina Mist also corner rounded at two sides.  I added a Pumpkin Pie flag tag.  My cheeky snowman from Snow Much Fun was stamped in Basic Grey and coloured using my Blender Pen.  I punched him out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.  Then attached to a mat of Pumpkin Pie which was die cut with the Circles 2 Originals Die.

Another one for my box!

I had my daughter off school today with a cold.  She thinks she'll be ok for school tomorrow.  I'm starting to sneeze so perhaps Mum wont be so fit tomorrow!!

Hope you are all well.  Thanks for your visit. x

Ooops nearly forgot to add, thank you very much for my Honourable Mention at Merry Monday last week.  Such a boost! xx

Stampin' Up!'s Woodgrain as Snow??!

Good Evening Peeps.

Ever made a card when you liked the idea, didn't like it as it was coming together then loved it when it was made?  This was the process I went through today.  I loved the playing that went into this especially as ideas weren't just popping into my head.

I started off looking at my favourite challenges and decided to make a card to fit two of them.  Details of the challenges are below.

To make the card I embossed the Bashful Blue mat with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder on one edge only.  The tree is from Lovely as a Tree and is stamped in Whisper White on Night of Navy.  I found this in my scraps drawer so was happy to put it to good use. The snow drift was also a scrap from a previous card and when I looked at it I thought the Woodgrain made super snow drifts.  It naturally tore along the grain edge.  I love it when you discover different uses for your stash.

I then stamped a snowflake from Mixed Medley (hostess set from Autumn/Winter mini due to finish in 2 days time!!) in Bashful Blue and added the sentiment in Night of Navy.  I popped up the middle circle with a Dimensional.  I punched out the snowflake sentiment with the 1 3/8" circle and the 3/4" circle punches

If there is anything in the Autumn/Winter catalogue that you would still like then please get in touch as soon as possible.  I would hate you to miss out!  Thanks for visiting me today. x

Here's the challenges

So first off Merry Monday which has a Tic Tac Toe challenge this week.

Plenty of choice there.  My card follows the top row - Blue, Dry Embossing, Snow.

The second challenge was CASe This Sketch

Unfortunately the challenge closed earlier today.  Oh well thanks for the inspiration.
