Chevrons, Flowers and Stampin' Up!'s Aviary Bird Cages

First of all, thank you for all the well wishes for Holly's Birthday.  She's had a super day so far and is currently playing with her new purchase - an i pad which if you read yesterday's post she did a grand job of saving up for herself.  Very easy for Dad and I to put too the difference and get a case for it.

I've really been wanting to play along with the new challenge blog  Fusion.  You can see the details below.  So whilst dot was occupied with her new toy and number one son was ensconced on the x box I snuck away and made this card.

Whisper White card base with Whisper White panel attached with Dimensionals.  I've made my chevrons with the Chevron Embossing Folder and Certainly Celery card stock.  I corner rounded the edges.  I then stamped my bird cages from Aviary in Calypso Coral.  I stamped little flowers inside using Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and So saffron.  The little flower comes from Create a Cupcake.  So many useful small items in this set.  I then fussy cut out the cages and attached them with Dimensionals.  The sentiment in Calypso Coral comes from Petite Pairs.

I've picked up on the chevrons from the sketch and the colours and flowers from the inspiration photo.

As we had a big feed at an all you can restaurant at lunch time, I think it will just be cake for tea!  Mmmmm cake.  Not made by me this time as she wanted a Percy Pig cake, so M and S did the honours.

See you next time.  x x

Edit:  Woops just remembered meant to add this in to CASual Fridays which is calling for Chevrons and Flowers.

What do you do with your Ribbon Slides?......

Stampin Up Ribbon Slides used as Baubles hanging from branch made with Lovely as a Tree

..................make them into baubles, of course!!

I had another idea for Less is More which this week is Hardware.  I had these gorgeous little Ribbon Slides and wondered how they would look as baubles on a tree so I had to try it out.  What do you think?

I used the pine from Lovely as a Tree as my branches and stamped in Gumball Green, my new fab colour for Christmas green!  I attached my slides to 1/8" Black Taffeta Ribbon with mini glue dots.  if I had had the Real Red in this ribbon I would have used that as my bows but as I don't I improvised instead.  I used the little bow from Create a Cupcake and fussy cut it out.  Yep I even cut into the middles of the loops!

My sentiment is from Delightful Dozen only partially inked up with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.

So will you have a go? x

A Festive Cupcake!

Happy Halloween everyone!

House is all spooked up ready for tonight and we are suitably pumpkinned!!

However I'm sharing a festive card with you today for the challenges

CAS-ual Fridays - Using Kraft
CASology - Sugar

Cupcakes are so popular just now and not just for birthdays.  So I decided to make a festive cupcake complete with Holly and fairy lights!  I used Stampin' Up!'s Create a Cupcake and the Cupcake Builder Punch.

The cupcake base and frosting are both popped up on a Dimensional.  The fairy lights were made with the little circles on the punch and joined using my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  The Holly berries are also made from the circles with some free hand cut holly leaves.  I added some gorgeous Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details glitter to give the berries a little extra shine and sparkle.

I then stamped Merry Christmas from For My Family in Real Red.

Thought I'd share some Halloween pics.  We are all prepared and have been since Saturday when we had a family Halloween party.

A few gravestones, some spooky treats, 4 pumpkins!, papermache heads, lots of cobwebs (I dusted before we put these up honest!).

We even had a hanged man outside - Henry - but as we had snow it was rather wet and his head fell off. Then with the rain during the night he disintegrated.  However I'm away to set up outside the leg and foot coming out of the mouth of one of the pumpkins.  A man eating pumpkin mwahhaahaa (evil laugh!)

Have a safe but scary one!! x

Bordering on Romance

Wowee I've got so much to tell you today.  Grab a cuppa!

I'm so excited to finally be able to reveal the Summer mini to you all.  There are so many new yummy products in here.  It would take too long to list everything so do have a look for yourself.

Click here to browse through the cattie.

My card uses some of the new goodies.  Here's a run down -

The base is Pink Pirouette with a mat of Early Espresso.  The curve at the top of the Early Espresso and Whisper White has been made by using the Edgelit Die - Adorning Accents.   Did you notice the embossing?  I've embossed the top and bottom with Textured Impressions Embossing Folders - also Adorning Accents.  Stampin' Up! are brilliant at co-ordinating tools and stamps.  It makes projects so easy to make.  I stamped Bordering on Romance in Early Espresso and coloured with Stampin' Write Markers.  The colours are Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette and Rose Red.  Along the bottom edge I've attached the new Pleated Satin Ribbon in Baja Breeze.  Wouldn't this be fab on you scrapbooking projects?  I attached this with Dimensionals.  The sentiment is from Create A Cupcake (sadly no longer available) and is stamped in Rose Red then punched with the Modern Label Punch.  This was also attached with dimensionals.

So back to the other goodies available.  Did you spot the new scoring tool exclusively designed for Stampin' Up!?  You can score cards, make designs, score 3D objects.  I'm really excited about this tool.  It's going to make projects fun, fast and easy!
Your scoring tool comes with imperial measurements but if you prefer metric then you can add this as a separate plate (127531 £10.95) which fits neatly onto your main tool.

And now we also have the diagonal plate to offer you.

125586 £10.95

You can make your own envelopes, score designs, make boxes and more. You can watch this You Tube video to see more on this fantastic plate.

Oh my goodness there's a lot to take in but it doesn't stop there.

Stampin' Up! have completely revised their STARTER KIT.  It is now at the reduced price of £99.  You now have complete flexibility to choose the products that you want in your kit up to the value of £130.  A business kit is included free (value £45) and there is no postage to pay for your kit.

During the month of May all new recruits will be able to have free registration for convention in Mainz, Germany in November.  This is a saving of £149!

If you are still with me after all this, I'd like to pass on my thanks!

I'll leave you to peruse the Summer mini at your leisure.

If you would like to order any of the above or the other supplies from the current catalogues then please get in touch either by e mail ails300@btinternet.com or call 07827923123.  I would be delighted to help you with your crafty projects.

Create a Cupcake at Freshly Made Sketches

Mmmm fancy a cupcake?  I do!

Cupcakes don't seem to be going out of fashion and this is a super set for creating them.  Don't let it slip through your fingers though as it's only around until the end of the month!

Create a Cupcake is a stamp set with 12 stamps and don't think it's just for cupcakes.  Check out some of my earlier posts for examples.  Another thing, there's a Cupcake Builder Punch to go with it.  Being able to stamp and punch makes life so easy, don't you think?

I've used a Baja Breeze card base.  I created a background on Whisper White using the sprinkles stamp.   I stamped it in Rose Red but stamped off first.  I like the speckled effect.  This was matted onto Elegant Eggplant.

I punched a scallop circle using 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  (Another item from the Spring Mini Catalogue)  I pierced each scallop with my Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack.  I then punched a circle of Baja Breeze using 1 3/4" Circle Punch.

My cupcake base is stamped in Elegant Eggplant.  I punched it out using the Cupcake Builder Punch and also the frosting in Whisper White, then stamped the little heart in Rose Red.

The bottom panel has a strip of Rose Red Satin Ribbon with the sentiment stamped in Rose Red and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  This was attached with a couple of Dimensionals.

I've followed the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches -

but flipped it.

Hope you've had a great day.  Off to have a cuppa!  Thanks for coming past. x

Create a cupcake popcorn card

My son suddenly announced at 8pm the night before that he had been invited to a party the next day!  So no time to get a pressie but I'm sure the recipient was just as pleased with money.  However I had no pre teen boy cards.  So this is what I came up with.

Card base is Pacific Point and I stamped Borderlines, the dotty pattern along top and bottom.   For the front panel I matted Whisper White onto Old Olive. Stamped Happy Birthday from Delightful Dozen in Real Red at one side and made a feature topper for the other side.  The topper is Old Olive matted onto Pacific Point with a circle of Whisper White punched using the 1 3/4" punch.  My tub of popcorn (you knew it was popcorn, right??) is using Create a Cupcake for the bag punched out with the Cupcake Builder Punch.  And the overflowing popcorn was punched out using one of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punches in So Saffron sponged with Daffodil Delight.  I'd seen this on the internet and thought it was very clever but can't remember where.  Not sure if they used the same shape for the popcorn but I thought this looked quite close.

Inside I just wrote "hope you have a "popping" good day!".

Hope your weekend is going well.  We have a much brighter day today, still no snow.  Off out later so must get cracking.  Thanks for "popping" in past. x

Perfect Postage Bunny

"Hopping" in with a quick post today.

A clean and simple Birthday card using Perfect Postage stamp set. Doesn't the little bunny look cute holding his balloon?  He's having a little rest before hopping on over to the birthday party.

Looks a nice day where he is, fluffy white clouds in a blue sky.  Unfortunately not the same for us, we have a grey rainy day.  Perfect for crafting though!

I've followed the sketch over at LESS IS MORE -

Here's how I made the card -

The card base is Whisper White with a panel of Concord Crush.  I then made my scene on a smaller panel of Whisper White.  Firstly I inked up the bunny stamp using my Stampin' Write Markers - his body in Concord Crush and the Balloon in Poppy Parade.  I then stamped him and masked him using a post it note.  I added some Pear Pizzazz grass for him to stand on and sponged more Pear Pizzazz from my ink pad to make the hill and background using a post it mask for the horizon.  The sky is Pool Party and Island Indigo using the icing from Create A Cupcake to make a mask for the clouds.   My sentiment is also from Create A Cupcake and it's in Poppy Parade to match in with the colour of the balloon.

I really enjoyed making the scene in a narrow band and love the way it's turned out.  Hope despite whatever weather you are having today, that you are also having fun. x

Finally a Cupcake!

Finally I've made an actual cupcake with my Create a Cupcake set.  I've followed the sketch over at CAS-ual Fridays.

I stamped the base of the cupcake in Early Espresso and the icing in Pretty in Pink.  Then punched out using the Cupcake Builder Punch.  The little cherry on top was punched out of Red Glimmer Paper.  This paper is so sparkly and you only need a touch here and there to glam up a project.  And no mess!  The glitter is set into the paper.

I built up my cupcake on a square of Early Espresso, popping the icing up on a Dimensional.  Then matted it onto Pretty in Pink.  This was added onto a Whisper White panel that I embossed with the Square Lattice Folder.  I made a flag tag for my sentiment out of Pretty in Pink adding a strip of Whisper White from my scraps folder.  The Happy Birthday is also from the same stamp set and was stamped in Real Red.

The card base is Early Espresso.

Another cold but bright day.  Hope your day is going well. x

Thanks so Much Create A Cupcake

I'm joining in the challenge over at FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES again this week.  The sketch is below -

And I've decorated the middle -

Hee Hee hearts are a bit wonky but I think it's cute.

Again I'm using the Create A Cupcake stamp set and still no cupcakes!!  It's January everyone's on a diet. Lol!

My colour scheme today came from my Colour Coach.  I started with River Rock for my flower holder and matched Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist with it.  Not colours I would have picked myself but it comes out cheery and colourful I think.

Cherry Cobbler card base with Marina Mist for the mats.  The strips have the little heart stamp repeated in River Rock.  The main panel is Shimmery White card stock.  The circle of Cherry Cobbler flowers was punched using the 1 3/4" punch then I used the Circles Originals Die to create the matt.

The flower base was stamped and then using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig I added the Marina Mist bow.  It was punched out using the Cupcake Builder Punch.  A Basic Rhinestone gem gives a little added sparkle.

My sentiment is from Pocket Silhouettes stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

Hope you've enjoyed looking today and I can't wait to come visit you too. x

Create a Cupcake Valentine's Card

And no frosting or a single calorie in sight!  Let me explain -

As I've already said I really like purple so thought I would have another go at LESS IS MORE which is predominantly purple week.

On my desk was the Create A Cupcake stamp set and the fabby Cupcake Builder Punch.  You can get both of these in the new Spring Mini Catalogue.  I love it when stamp sets have co-ordinating punches.  However you'll notice that I haven't built a cupcake after all.  Although I'm sure it would also make a fantastic Valentine's card.

Instead I noticed that the cupcake topping stamp looks a lot like a cloud and it all went from there.  I used the punch to punch out a post it mask and sponged Concord Crush around it.  I placed this onto a matt of Elegant Eggplant. This was in turn mounted onto Whisper White and attached to the Perfect Plum card base.  The hearts are also from Create a Cupcake and were stamped in Blushing Bride then cut out with some glitter added.  One heart was popped up on a Dimensional.

I'm so excited to tell you about how I made the sentiment.  It's also from Create A Cupcake but I only stamped part of it.  The full sentiment is "There's something fabulous about your birthday (must be you!)".  For the front I only used There's something fabulous by colouring directly onto the stamp using my Concord Crush Stampin' Write Marker pen. It was then punched out with the Modern Label Punch and popped up on dimensionals.

I then got to wondering how it would look as a one layer.  So here's the result.  Same as before but only 3 clouds and this time I sponged with Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum as well as the Concord Crush.  The hearts were stamped with Blushing Bride onto the same card stock and cut out.  I covered these hearts with Glossy Accents and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Here's a picture of how I finished the sentiment inside.

So that's it for me tonight.  Next time your looking at your stamp sets see if you find something else you can do with them.  Hope your week is going well and thanks for coming over.  I really appreciate your visit. x
