Stampin Up Everything Eleanor Freshly Done

Good morning craft peeps!  A Freshly Made Sketch for you today.

I wanted to move away from Autumn and Christmas, just for a little while.  I decided to use the new In Colours as our new catalogue is going to be with us before you know it.  (Monday if you didn't know it, hee hee)

So I had a play around with Everything Eleanor and settled on the smallest flower in the set.  I followed the sketch and punched out a flower in Whisper White using the Fancy Flower Punch.  Then attached the flowers that I had cut out.  For the middle I chose an Antique Brad which also has a flower shape on it.  Just love those brads!  Onto a panel of Midnight Muse I added strips of Be of Good Cheer Designer Paper.  I know, it's a christmas set of papers but I love those polka dots on Gumball Green.  For the background panel, I ran the whisper White through the Square Lattice Folder after stamping with my sentiment from Curly Cute.  This was attached to a Gumball Green mat and the card base is Midnight Muse.

A big welcome to Susan, Hi Susan!  Thanks for following my little blog.

I hope you all have a good day planned today,  I'm off to tackle the dreaded housework.  Take care and thanks for your visit.  x

Edit:  Thanks to Suze for pointing out that my card also fits in with Addicted to Stamps and more which has a theme of spring.

Baby it's cold outside with Stampin' Up!'s Snow Flurry

Christmas card using Stampin Up Snow Flurries Die

Well it's not really.  We've had some lovely sunshine this week but CASology are looking for white on their cue card.  So snow came to mind.

I recently purchased Stampin' Up!'s Snow Flurry die from the Autumn/Winter catalogue and thought it was about time I had a play with it.

My first card uses two of  the die cuts layered up with some sparkly Basic Rhinestones to add a little glimmer.  A strip of Whisper White embossed with Perfect Polka Dots sits behind it.  I added touches of blue to my card because I always love it when you get a crisp snowy day and it's so white you can see a hint of blue.  Merry Christmas from Stampin' Up!'s Petite Pairs is stamped in Bashful Blue and the mount is also Bashful Blue.

Here's a second card using the full snowflake all layered up.

Again I've given it a little bling with a large Basic Rhinestone in the middle and dots of Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle.  Also in the Autumn/Winter catalogue.  I'm loving this new catalogue, my wish list is huge from the suppliment alone!  The snowflake is attached to a panel of Bashful Blue then onto a second panel of Whisper White.

These were so quick and simple to run up.  Perfect for making a batch of Christmas cards.

If you would like to get in touch to discuss your wish list then please email me on ails300@btinternet.com.  There's lots of ways you can spread the cost.  One of them is to join Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator and earn the discount for yourself. Get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.  Alternatively another way is to join my Stampers 6 club starting in October.  Only 1 place left.  Have a look at my Virtual Hostess Page.

I'd like to extend a lovely warm welcome to Natali.  Thanks so much for deciding to follow my little blog.

Hope it's not snowing where you are but lovely and sunny instead!  Hee Hee x

Mixed Bunch Birthday Card Class

The card I have to share with you is one we made at last weeks card class.  We used Mixed Bunch and the co-ordinating Blossom Punch

We started with a card base and front panel of Concord Crush and corner rounded the edges.  Then using the Blossom Punch we punch out a blossom shape from the front panel.  Then ran it through the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  A square of Pumpkin Pie Brights Designer Paper was attached to the card base so that it would show through the shape.  Using one of the smaller stamps from Mixed Bunch we stamped and punched out a centre in Pear Pizzazz.  The embossed panel and the flower centre are all popped up on Dimensionals.  A second flower was stamped and punched out in Pumpkin Pie.  The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes and is stamped in Pear Pizzazz and punched out with the Modern Label

I love the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the matching punch.  It's a great bundle to have and you can see how many times I've used it by looking at the Mixed Bunch label at the side.  I also can't enthuse enough about the Hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes.  It really is worth having a party to get this set for free.  Of course you don't need to have a party because any order of £150 entitles you to hostess pounds.  If you fancy having a party or virtual party then please get in touch.

You can also earn hostess pounds as part of my Stampers 6 Club.  Only a couple of places left so please get in touch quickly to reserve your place.

Mixed Bunch for Christmas!

This is my first Christmas card for 2012.  I'm actually quite late in starting as it'll creep up on us so fast!

I've followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I was pleased to see the central shape as I love the Top Note Die.

Do you see my snowflake?  It's actually one of the Mixed Bunch Flowers stamped in Versamark and embossed in White Embossing Powder.  The smaller snowflake was made using the same stamp but by only inking up the centre using a Versamark Pen

Once embossed I then had fun getting inky.  I first of all used my Watercolour Pencils to add a little colour within the snowflakes and then used my Aqua Painter to pull the colour around.  I spritzed the background with my Spritzer Tool using Bashful Blue and Marina Mist Stampin' Write Markers.  Then I sponged around the edges and into the snowflakes with Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and Tempting Turquoise using Sponge Daubers

The side panel is Whisper White embossed with Perfect Polka Dots adding a flash of Real Red edged with the Scallop Edge Border Punch.

For my sentiment tag, I used a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker to ink up part of sentiment stamp from Welcome Christmas.  The 1 1/4" Square Punch made the flag tag on the end.

Mixed Bunch is in the Summer Mini Catalogue which finishes on the 31st August.  It also has a punch that matches it.  Not all items make it into the main catalogue so if you have seen some favourites, please get in touch.

And now I'm pleased to introduce our AUGUST PROMOTION.  I'm sure it will give you Reason to Smile!  An exclusive stamp set only available for this month.

The set can be purchased for £18.95 Wood or £14.95 Clear but best of all it can be yours for FREE when you spend £60.  So now's your chance to catch up on your favourites in the summer mini and net yourself a free stamp set into the bargain!  You can e mail me on ails300@btinternet.com I'd be happy to help you choose!

Everything Eleanor Wedding Card

I can safely show you this Wedding Card as the wedding has now passed.

This is a 6" by 6" card in Whisper White with a Soft Suede mat.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment in Gold Embossing Powder.  The sentiment comes from Occasional Quotes a retired stamp set.  The Top Note Die creates a decorative panel in Very Vanilla and River Rock.  I stamped the wonderful flourish from Everything Eleanor in River Rock.  Then added a scattering of the smallest Basic Pearls.

The Soft Suede strip has the Baroque Border Wheel rolled across it and embossed in gold.  I then attached a couple of hearts punched out with the Full Heart Punch in Very Vanilla and River Rock.  I embossed the Very Vanilla heart with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  Then added two medium Basic Pearls.

Here's an example using Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and silver embossing powder.

I love how you can use the same design but change it up by using different colours.

Hope you are enjoying you holidays.  Thanks for taking the time to come by and visit. x

Me and You Tea for Two

Happy Friday Everyone!

Another hectic day planned but I'm taking 5 minutes out to share this card with you.  I've followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

This is my daughter's card to my husband for his birthday.  (Don't worry I think he'll be too busy to look on my blog).  Normally she would make the card herself but decided to take up knitting so was too busy concentrating on that.  I was given instructions as to what she wanted.  My husband likes his tea so we decided on Tea Shoppe.  She liked the large cup and I think it suits the sketch.  It is a bit flowery though so I put a label on punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch, then added a mat behind it.  The choice of colours were also an attempt at masculinity and the pumpkin Pie panel has been embossed with Perfect polka Dots Embossing Folder.  My daughter had suggested in our discussions that the the tea cup should have wings attached to it!  Thankfully she hasn't noticed there are no wings, that would have stretched the masculine feel to the limit!!

This was done with a constant stream of "oops Mum I've dropped a stitch!"  Here's the result of all that hard work knitting.  It's a square in case you're not sure and yes the needle is picking up a dropped stitch discovered after I cast off for her.............. Bless!

Another Bordering on Romance

Whilst I had Bordering on Romance on my desk I made another card.  This time using the smaller flowers to make a patterned panel.

I stamped them in Whisper White and coloured using my Subtles set of Stampin' Write Markers.  I found that the palest colours looked best as the Crumb Cake makes them a little darker anyway.  Then added Crystal Effects to some of the petals.  Not only does this add shine but texture too as the crystal effects stays raised.  I then added a trim of Bashful Blue punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch.  This was placed over a mat of Whisper White which had been embossed with the Manhattan Flower folder.  I stamped my sentiment from Petite Pairs in Whisper White and punched out using the 1" Circle Punch.  I added a mat of Bashful Blue punched out with the 1 1/4" Punch

As this also has shine I'm adding it into Less is More which has a something shiny theme.

Well our back garden has turned into a swimming pool!  And it's still raining.  Oh dear can't see the gardeners getting much done today.

Anyhoo I hope it's dry with you and look forward to popping round to see your creations.  Happy crafting. x

A sweet little handbag

Something a little different but very girly.  I've made a little treat handbag holder for my Stampers 6 ladies.  I like to put a little something extra into their bags each month as a thank you.  Would you like to receive a bag of goodies each month and spread the cost of your wish list?  Then please get in touch and I'll be delighted to add your name to my list.

I know there are lots of templates for handbags out there but this is one I designed myself.  I started off by measuring the treat that I was putting inside and made a template from there.  The main panel is Calypso Coral cut with two score lines in the middle (1cm apart) and then cut the sides at an angle.  Decorated  the front with some Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper that I had left over from Sale-A-Bration.  Any patterned paper would do. I used the Top Note Die to cut some Concord Crush and embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I attached one half of the top note to the back of the bag and used a hoop and loop fastener for the front.  A Basic Rhinestone gives a little sparkle.  A strip of Concord Crush makes the handle.

For the inside I made a belly band to hold the treat in place and decorated it with more of the Everyday Enchantment paper.  Sorry I should have taken a photo of the inside too but I'm sure you can figure that bit out.

I'm really pleased how they turned out.  Wouldn't they make great end of year Teacher/Leader pressies?  There's plenty space to add a gift card too.

Hope you liked my little project and I appreciate you taking the time to stop in past. x

Happy Anniversary

Happy Friday to you all.  Hope you have a lovely weekend planned with some crafty time included.

I've made an anniversary card which fits the Friday Mashup this week which is to use ribbons and/or bows and the mash up is to have a decorative edge.  I haven't mashed up this week.

I've started with a Basic Black card base and a mat of Blushing Bride.  On this some Very Vanilla embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Folder.  I sponged Blushing Bride over the embossed areas and corner rounded.

I wrapped Basic Black Satin Ribbon around the mat and made a lovely lush bow.  I punched out a Basic Black Blossom with the Blossom Punch.  Added, on Dimensionals, a 1 3/4" Circle of Very Vanilla stamped with a Perfect Plum heart from I {heart} hearts.  A Basic Rhinestone adds a little sparkle.  Then attached to the ribbon I made some tags using Tiny Tags and the Tag Punch

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.  x

Baby Boy Fox and Friends

This is a card we made at my card class this week.  A baby boy card to go along with the baby girl card I posted here.

I started off with a Crumb Cake base and added a mat of Bashful Blue with the corners rounded.

I then stamped some of the cute animals from Fox and Friends in So Saffron on Whisper White and punched out using the 1 1/4" Square Punch.  I also punched out 3 squares of Beau Chateau Designer Series Papers.  The squares were arranged and attached to a Marina Mist mat before running through the Square Lattice Folder

The sentiment is from Baby Prints and I've just inked up the word "baby" in Marina Mist and stamped onto Whisper White.  I corner rounded one end of the tag and snipped the other for a ribbon effect.

Let me show you the Baby Prints stamp set.

125470 Wood £24.95 125472 Clear £19.95

Baby Prints is one of the many new fabby sets in the Summer Mini Catalogue.  Aren't those little hand and foot prints so cute?

Hope your week is going well.  I'm eagerly awaiting the brown van and friendly UPS man arriving with my Stampers 6 box.  So exciting when you receive your goodies each month.  Take a look at the Virtual Hostess page if you are interested in receiving new yummy supplies each month.  Happy crafting. x

Just for You Aviary

I had a fab crafty afternoon with some lovely ladies on Sunday.  This is the card we made.

My Hostess requested Aviary and I'm so glad because I just love this set.  The little birds are so cute especially the owl!

We started with a card base of River Rock.  The mat is Garden Green and has been embossed with Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Then cut with the corresponding Adorning Accent Edgelit.

The bird cages were stamped in River Rock and the branch from Vintage Vogue was stamped in Pear Pizzaz.  Sometimes using the stamping off method to create depth.  Then we added the little birds in Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight.  Punched out a little flower using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch and added a Basic Pearl to the middle.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and stamped in Pear Pizzaz then punched out with the Word Window punch.

Thanks again to Pam for being a wonderful hostess.  Hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did.
If you fancy hosting a workshop and receiving lots of free goodies whilst spending fun crafting then drop me an email ails300@btinternet.com and if you live in the area I'd be delighted to come along.

A big welcome to Sigrid, thanks for choosing to follow me.  Take care. x

Best Wishes Rosette Flowers

Hi Everyone.

The rain has finally caught up with us in the North East.  Hope it's dry where you are.

This card is for a new challenge Dynamic Duos and I better get my skates on because their first week closes today.  Here's the challenge -

You've only to use the two colours in your challenge apart from neutrals.  If you don't have these exact colours you can choose ones that are close to them.

I love the two colours together but haven't had a chance till now to have a play at making a card.  So here's how I made it -

I used Pool Party for my card base then added a Whisper White layer which was embossed with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  Down one edge of the card I've embossed lines using my new fabby Scoring Tool

Also using the scoring tool I made two rosettes out of Sale-A-Bration Designer Paper.  I punched out circles for the middles in Lucky Limeade and Pool Party.  Added a Designer Brad to the largest rosette in Lucky Limeade and for the smaller I used a normal brad in Old Olive (this was my nearest colour).

I punched out branches using the Bird Builder Punch and then used the little flower punch from Itty Bitty Shapes to make white blossom.  I snipped the flowers so the curled a little and then popped a Basic Rhinestone into each one.

For my sentiment I stamped Best Wishes in Pool Party from Sincere Salutations and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch.  I added some more bling under the sentiment actually to hide a little smudge from my stamping.  Ooops but a happy end result.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your visit.  Take care. x

Creative Elements Butterflies

I hope everyone has had a super holiday weekend.  We all did.  My daughter was off on a Brownie weekend and had a fab time at PGL in Dalguise near Perth.  Thanks to all the Brownie Leaders and helpers who always plan a wonderful time for the girls.  My son spent the weekend at his Granny's being spoilt rotten and not chased off his laptop which he would be at home!  And my husband and I spent the weekend in Edinburgh.  More on that later.

Firstly onto my card for today which is following the guidelines over at Less is More.  This is a colour week and as if you can't guess the colour is yellow.

I've started with a Daffodil Delight card base and added a strip of Basic Black embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I stamped my butterfly from Creative Elements twice.  Firstly in More Mustard with the centre coloured with Daffodil Delight using my Blender Pen directly onto the stamp before stamping onto Whisper White.  The second was stamped in Basic Black onto Daffodil Delight.  I've added a Basic Pearl to the centres of the butterflies.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

This card fell together after going down a different route and I'd laid the butterflies onto some black temporarily.  Then thought they looked quite nice and so digressed to make this card.  I'll show you the other card tomorrow.

Well I said I'd say a bit more about our trip and I've included some photos taken by hubby.
Back of Edinburgh Castle

Our first challenge was to find our apartment which we knew was off the Royal Mile (the road that leads up to the castle) at James Court but we couldn't find a road leading to it.  So we parked up the car and set out on foot pulling our cases.  Turned out James Court is a narrow alley way leading to a court yard behind the Royal Mile.
Our Apartment.  Reached by
climbing a dizzying stone and
wood circular staircase.
James Court

The alleyway leading back to the main road.

Although the apartment was basic to say the least.  We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the historical background and discovering these hidden away court yards we wouldn't have known otherwise.

Thanks for popping in by and I hope to do some catching up later. x

Mines a 99!

My favourite ice cream is a Mr Whippy 99.  Mmmmm yum!  Not a day for one today though, lots of rain and a bit too chilly.

My card today features an ice cream with a triple scoop.  The cone is from Pennant Parade stamped in Soft Suede, punched out with the Petite Pennant Builder Punch.  The scoops are from the Create a Cupcake Builder Punch in Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede.

I embossed a panel of Very Vanilla in the Square Lattice Folder and matted onto Soft Suede.  I added a strip of Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper behind it also matted onto Soft Suede.

And a little sneak peak from the new mini out at the beginning of May.  Can't say much more but look at the fancy mat I've created for my sentiment.  The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations and is stamped in Soft Suede.

The card base is Marina Mist.

The colours are from the Simply Stampin' Challenge.

I hope it's drier with you.  Happy crafting. x

Baby Quilt

Good Morning!  Hope the sun is shining where you are today.

I've a baby card to share with you.  The Friday Mashup are asking you to

Make a project using the "Quilted Cards Technique"
Or Make a project using "Something that's been forgotten (sitting in your stash forever)"
Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Quilted card with something you've forgotten about"

So I had great fun making my quilted card.  I stamped Fox and Friends animals in Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, So Saffron and Certainly Celery.  Then punched out the animals using 1 1/4" Punch.  I also punched another 4 squares.  Then die cut the letters using Timeless Type Junior Alphabets and attached these to the squares.  I also punched squares out of Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper and cut these in half.  Then formed a pattern onto copier paper and attached the squares to it.  I ran this through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Then further trimmed my "quilt" to fit the card base.

I added a border of So Saffron and edged the bottom with the Scallop Edge Punch.  Then added another border of Certainly Celery before attaching to a Marina Mist card base.

To finish I attached a rhinestone brad to one corner, which is my forgotten item.

Thanks for dropping by today and Welcome to Victoria.  I appreciate you following my little blog.  Hope you pop by often.
