Beach Comber Anniversary

I was asked if I could make a card with a photo on it as an Anniversary card.  It was a surprise when the photo came through and it was a beach scene and not a couple picture.

As soon as I saw the photo I loved the pink of the sand so chose a Pink Pirouette base for the card.  I stamped Woodgrain onto Textured Sahara Sand in the same ink.  Then added some Linen Thread wrapped around one end.  The Heart is from I {heart} Hearts and is stamped in Perfect Plum.  I attached a Button from the neutrals pack, then trimmed the panel in Whisper White using the Top Note Die.  The sentiment is computer generated.

I'm pleased with my washed out beach comber look.  Thanks for taking the time to visit today.  See you next time. x

Happy Anniversary

Happy Friday to you all.  Hope you have a lovely weekend planned with some crafty time included.

I've made an anniversary card which fits the Friday Mashup this week which is to use ribbons and/or bows and the mash up is to have a decorative edge.  I haven't mashed up this week.

I've started with a Basic Black card base and a mat of Blushing Bride.  On this some Very Vanilla embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Folder.  I sponged Blushing Bride over the embossed areas and corner rounded.

I wrapped Basic Black Satin Ribbon around the mat and made a lovely lush bow.  I punched out a Basic Black Blossom with the Blossom Punch.  Added, on Dimensionals, a 1 3/4" Circle of Very Vanilla stamped with a Perfect Plum heart from I {heart} hearts.  A Basic Rhinestone adds a little sparkle.  Then attached to the ribbon I made some tags using Tiny Tags and the Tag Punch

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.  x

A little charmed

Welcome back.

Thanks for popping along today.  We still have wet weather so great for doing a bit of crafting.

This morning I had a quick look at Less is more and thought Oh my!  What put me in a tizz?  Well this week we are being asked to use a charm.  Now Stampin' Up! do a lovely range of charms in the Spring Mini Catalogue (only available until the end of April).  They have keys and crowns, super for lots of projects.  So what's the problem?  I don't have any!!

However not to be out done I've made my own charm.  Tiny Tags has a super set of little stamps and I really love this little heart.  I embossed it in Silver Embossing Powder and cut it out.  Then cut out another two hearts in plain card, sponged the edges with Basic Grey and sandwiched together with the embossed heart.  I used my Piercing Tool to  make a hole through the layers.

I had some wooden hearts already stamped in Rich Razzleberry from the I {heart} hearts stamp set.  So I cut them out and attached them to a Whisper White panel.  I attached some 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon.  Then attached my little heart charm with some Linen Thread which I had sponged with Basic Grey.

The little sentiment is also from Tiny Tags.

The main panel is corner rounded and attached to the Rich Razzleberry base with Dimensionals

Hope you are having lovely weekend whatever your weather.  x

Faux Mother of Pearl Congratulations

Happy Friday Everyone.

My card today is for two challenges.

follow the sketch and/or mash it up using the faux Mother of Pearl technique.  There's a tutorial on the challenge site.

and the other challenge is CASual Fridays and for this week -

CFC44:  It's as Easy as 1-2-3  Create a Clean And Simple project using
1. A Pattern
2.  An Image
3.  A Sentiment
Sound easy?  Remember to keep it CAS!

So onto the card.

The card base is Basic Black with a mat of Very Vanilla.  I wrapped some Rose red seam binding around the middle and tied a bow.  Then stamped Congratulations from Occasional Quotes (a retired set) in Basic Black.

I punched out a scalloped circle in Basic Black with the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch and added a Basic Pearl to all the scallops. I punched a circle of very Vanilla with the 1 3/4" circle punch.  Then using Frost White Shimmer Paint dabbed a pattern with some kitchen roll to make the faux Mother of Pearl.  Once dry I stamped a heart from I {heart} hearts in Jet Back Stazon.

Here's a close up to show the faux mother of pearl -

On the inside I've layered some Very Vanilla on Rose Red card to tie in with the ribbon on the front.  I've left it blank meantime until I decide why it's congratulations.

Still time to join my Stampers 6 club starting in April.  This is a good time to join the club because there are lots of good things coming from Stampin' Up! in the next couple of months.   You can e mail me on ails300@btinternet.com to book your place.

I {heart} Hearts Valentine's

More fun using the I (heart} Hearts stamp set this time using more of the hearts in the set.

I've teamed up Early Espresso, Real Red and Blushing Bride.  The Real Red panel was embossed with Perfect Polka Dots.

My front panel was Spritzed using Poppy Parade and Blushing Bride.  I then stamped and masked my hearts.  The woodgrain heart was stamped again, cut out and popped up on some Dimensionals.  I added some Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.  The wooden button was salvaged from a Christmas card I received and attached to the ribbon with some glue dots.  I stamped the little heart and sentiment from Tiny Tags and punched out with the Jewellery Tag.

Want to earn some free stamps?  You can through Sale-A-Bration.  For every £45 you can choose one of four stamp sets or a set of designer series papers.  Check out the leaflet on my side bar.  Hostesses can also earn free stamps in addition to their normal benefits.  It's a great time to join Stampin' Up! add a free stamp set to your starter kit.

Been a strange day.  Kept dot off school as she was sent home yesterday with a note saying she hadn't been feeling well.  Sore throat and a bit dehydrated.  Then got call at lunch time today to pick up my son as he wasn't feeling well.  He did look a funny colour and promptly threw up when we got home.  So not much normal work done.  But thankfully both have perked up now.

Wooden Heart

Good morning all.

It's the start of Sale-a-Bration today.  Free stamps anyone?  Have a look at the brochure on my side bar or at the bottom of this post.  There are 4 lovely stamp sets to choose from and a set of beautiful designer series papers.  Best time to order Stampin' Up! is now.  Sale-A-Bration runs until the 31.3.12.  But before you dash off to look at the free stamps, here's how I made my card for today.

I had such fun playing with this combo of colours that I've used it again today. Early Espresso card base and a panel of Riding Hood Red stamped with the Woodgrain stamp in Early Espresso.  The main panel is Very Vanilla mounted onto Early Espresso then mounted onto Blushing Bride.  The heart is from I {heart} hearts in Riding Hood Red.  I chose the heart shape with the woodgrain to match the larger panel.

To finish off I added a strip of Early Espresso punched at one end with a square punch.  You just insert it into one corner.  I attached a Real Red button with some linen thread knotted through it.  I stamped Love from Pennant Parade in Whisper White.

Here's how I decorated the inside.

The sentiment on the inside is from Delightful Dozen

I followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and as I've used the same colours as yesterday I'm also going to put it into The Friday Mashup as well.

Edit:  Woops missed the dead line for Freshly made Sketches but never mind it was fun playing along with the sketch anyway!

Fancy a look at those free stamp sets now?

Aren't they fab?

Here's an example to earn one of the free sets in the above leaflet -

I {heart} hearts £25.95 wood + Woodgrain £16.95 wood + Linen Thread £3.75 = 1 freebie from Sale-A-Bration

Thanks for your visit and I hope you have a good day.  Happy Crafting. x

Thanks So Much

A little card to share today.  This is my thank you card for last months Stampers 6 Club. I really appreciate my customers and like to put in a little thank you card with their orders.

I've used Crumb Cake as my card base and stamped using the same ink some of the hearts from the I {heart} hearts set. Then stamped a further heart in Marina Mist on Whisper White card and cut out.  This was popped up on a couple of dimensionals.  The "Thanks so Much" is from Sincere Salutations set and i used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up along the bottom.

Very simple and straightforward.  If you would like any of the supplies to make this card then I'd be pleased to help.  E mail me on ails300@btinternet.com.

If you would like to join my NEW STAMPERS 6 starting in October, then I have places available.  It's a great way to spread your crafting costs and gradually work through your wish list.  Our new catalogue comes out at the beginning of October so lots of new goodies to peruse.  If you would be interested then drop me an e mail - ails300@btinternet.com.

Thanks for your time. x

Heart Pendant Just for You

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge from Less is More and this week it's a recipe to use buttons and ribbons.  I decided to create a pendant effect.

I started by making my heart pendant first.  The hearts stamped in Marina Mist are from the I {heart} Hearts stamp set.  I embossed some Whisper White card stock with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder then used the Full Heart Extra-Large Punch to punch out one large heart.  The teeny tiny white heart was one I already had from the two step owl punch.   I attached a small red button with sticky strip from the Brights Collection with a little silver thread through it.  I then added some Marina Mist 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.  I attached my pendant to a strip of Crumb Cake before attaching to my base card of Marina Mist.

The sentiment is from the Hostess set - Afterthoughts and is stamped in Marina Mist directly onto the card base using my Stamp-a-ma-jig.

A big welcome to Jenni - thanks for choosing to follow me, it's appreciated.  Hope you visit often and see some inspiration.

Woohoo to everyone at Simply Stampin' Challenge Blog for selecting my card All sorts of flowers for their top 3 in last weeks challenge.  I'm so pleased!

Looking forward to seeing all the brill entries over at Less is more. x
