Manhattan Elegance

Hi there, a touch of elegance for you courtesy of  Less is More where we've been given a photo for inspiration.  Take a look at these gorgeous shoes.

I've focused on the length of those heels and the luscious ribbon detail.

The Basic Black card base has a popped up panel embossed with the Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder.  A strip of Silver Glimmer paper is also popped up on Dimensionals.  I added Satin Ribbon with an additional layer of Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon.  A tiny label sentiment finishes off from Tiny Tags and punched out with the Jewellery Tag.

I'm sure this could be used for a whole number of occassions where a little elegance is required or perhaps some romance.

We've been enjoying a lovely sunny day here today but unfortunately it's forecast for rain tomorrow and we are due on a picnic.  Let's hope they've got it wrong!

Strolling down Sycamore Street

Happy 1st of Feb Everyone!!!  Ooooh this is so exciting!!
Why all the excitement?  Well today sees the launch of the new Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue.  Loads of new scrummy lovliness inside to drool over.  You can look through the catalogue below but first let me share my card for today.

Take a look by clicking here

I've broken away from clean and simple to play along with Freshly Made Sketches not that you can't be CAS and still play.  Just that today I fancied a change and challenged myself to use Designer Paper.

Isn't this paper just fabulous?  It's called Sycamore Street and it's free.  Yep you read that correctly!  You can choose this from 17 free Sale-A-Bration products this year when you spend £45.  This is an amazing time with Stampin' Up!, we have loads more than usual to celebrate 25 years.  Have a look at the brochure on my side bar and come celebrate with us!

I should also point out that there's a co-ordinating stamp set for these papers which is also free during Sale-A-Bration.  How fab is that?

So for my card I started with a 6" by 6" Baja Breeze card base and matted this beautiful paper on Rich Razzleberry.  I then made a tag out of Rich Razzleberry.  Did you notice the embossing along the bottom?  I used a fabby new set of embossing folders from the new catalogue called Needlepoint Border.  For further decoration I added a strip of co-ordinating paper and a tab of Baja Breeze to the top before stapling some Rich Razzleberry ribbon.

For the heart I used my new stamp set from the mini catalogue - Hearts a Flutter.  I stamped the largest heart stamp in Rich Razzleberry onto another piece of this gorgeous designer paper and die cut with the Hearts A Flutter Framelits. You can purchase the stamps and framelits together in a bundle and save 15%!   The heart was attached with Dimensionals and I made the little banners with the Bitty Banner Framelits out of Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.  I stamped "Love" from Tiny Tags in Baja Breeze before die cutting. Then attached the banners together with a Rich Razzleberry brad before attaching with a glue dot.

Here's a photo of how I finished off the inside.

I'm also excited to announce I've opened up a little shop!  A virtual one.  The Coffee Morning Shoppe. I'd love you to come in and have a browse and let me know what you think.  You can click on it on my header bar.  It's still under construction so bear with me!  The tables aren't set out yet..... Hee Hee.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing some of the new products in action.  Between this supplement and the main catalogue I'm sure you'll have a wish list as long as your arm!  Mine is.  Why not consider joining my Stampers 6 starting in April?  You'll spread the cost of your wish list, have the excitement of receiving a parcel every month, and don't forget you will be hostess for one of those months.  I'll keep you informed of any new promotions and you'll receive all the current catalogues for free to flick through and keep for ideas.  Interested? Want more details? Have a look at my Virtual Hostess Page or email me on ails300@btinternet.com.  Of course that doesn't mean you have to wait till April to shop I'm more than happy to help you with your orders in the meantime. x

An ickle bit of sun

Well actually a lot of sun today.  Even got the paddling pool out and the shorts were on!  However my card is just a little ickle card.

We are challenged at Less is More to make a shaped card for this week.  Not a rectangle or a square.  So the thinking cap went on and I kept coming back to the Flowers, Daisy 2 Bigz Die.  I went with Daffodil Delight because it's been so sunny with us lately.  Honestly us Brits are so delighted when we get a bit of sun because we can never tell if it's going to last.  Next week we might be back in woolly warms.  No kidding!

The card is made up of two layers from the Flowers Daisy 2 Die and 2 circles on each side of the inside from the Circles 2 Die. I stamped my sentiment from Tiny Tags in Daffodil Delight and punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch.  If you don't already have this set, I'd highly recommend it.  It adds a lot of fun to your projects.

I finished off the centre with a Rhinestone Brad

After a lovely afternoon relaxing in the sun, we were all off to the swimming pool to watch my daughter race in a local swimming gala event.  It's the first time she's taken part and was very nervous.  At the training when she dived in her goggles came off so she kept stopping.  It was with a huge amount of relief and pride to see her dive in and swim the length of the pool with no stopping and goggles still in tact!  Overall our primary school came second.  So well done to all that took part.

Wishing you all a gorgeous evening.  Take Care. x

Happy Anniversary

Happy Friday to you all.  Hope you have a lovely weekend planned with some crafty time included.

I've made an anniversary card which fits the Friday Mashup this week which is to use ribbons and/or bows and the mash up is to have a decorative edge.  I haven't mashed up this week.

I've started with a Basic Black card base and a mat of Blushing Bride.  On this some Very Vanilla embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Folder.  I sponged Blushing Bride over the embossed areas and corner rounded.

I wrapped Basic Black Satin Ribbon around the mat and made a lovely lush bow.  I punched out a Basic Black Blossom with the Blossom Punch.  Added, on Dimensionals, a 1 3/4" Circle of Very Vanilla stamped with a Perfect Plum heart from I {heart} hearts.  A Basic Rhinestone adds a little sparkle.  Then attached to the ribbon I made some tags using Tiny Tags and the Tag Punch

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.  x

Thanks so much

A little thank you card today using Aviary and Tiny Tags.

I stamped the bird cage in Old Olive and used the Stampin' Write Old Olive Marker to draw the line for it to hang from.

Under the cage I stamped some sprays from Tiny Tags in Perfect Plum.  I also stamped the little bird in Perfect plum and again on another piece of Whisper White then punched out using the 1/2" circle punched.  He was attached with a Dimensional.  I stamped the little heart in Rose Red and cut out then added a small Basic Pearl to the centre.

The sentiment is also from Tiny Tags and is stamped in Rose Red.

Wishing you all a good day today.  Thanks for visiting me. x

A little charmed

Welcome back.

Thanks for popping along today.  We still have wet weather so great for doing a bit of crafting.

This morning I had a quick look at Less is more and thought Oh my!  What put me in a tizz?  Well this week we are being asked to use a charm.  Now Stampin' Up! do a lovely range of charms in the Spring Mini Catalogue (only available until the end of April).  They have keys and crowns, super for lots of projects.  So what's the problem?  I don't have any!!

However not to be out done I've made my own charm.  Tiny Tags has a super set of little stamps and I really love this little heart.  I embossed it in Silver Embossing Powder and cut it out.  Then cut out another two hearts in plain card, sponged the edges with Basic Grey and sandwiched together with the embossed heart.  I used my Piercing Tool to  make a hole through the layers.

I had some wooden hearts already stamped in Rich Razzleberry from the I {heart} hearts stamp set.  So I cut them out and attached them to a Whisper White panel.  I attached some 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon.  Then attached my little heart charm with some Linen Thread which I had sponged with Basic Grey.

The little sentiment is also from Tiny Tags.

The main panel is corner rounded and attached to the Rich Razzleberry base with Dimensionals

Hope you are having lovely weekend whatever your weather.  x

Motorbike 4 You and I Spy Sketches

Good morning!  I have a masculine card to share today.

This one uses the Motorcycle stamped in Island Indigo and sponged around the edges with Pool Party.  It's mounted onto Island Indigo.  I've attached a tag with 4 You from Tiny Tags, punched out with the Jewellery Tag Punch but I snipped off the rounded top.

The top paper in the background is from Paisley Petals and the bottom paper is out of the Neutrals Stack.  These were mounted onto Island Indigo with a strip of the same running over the join.  I stamped Happy Birthday from For My Family in Island Indigo onto the patterned paper.   The card base is Pool Party.

I've followed the sketch over at I Spy Sketches

I'm also going to pop this into Make My Monday which is Male Sports or Hobbies.  (My Hubbies hobby is Motorbikes)

Well a quiet day today as the children are back to school.  So it's housework time!  Thanks for popping in by. x

I {heart} Hearts Valentine's

More fun using the I (heart} Hearts stamp set this time using more of the hearts in the set.

I've teamed up Early Espresso, Real Red and Blushing Bride.  The Real Red panel was embossed with Perfect Polka Dots.

My front panel was Spritzed using Poppy Parade and Blushing Bride.  I then stamped and masked my hearts.  The woodgrain heart was stamped again, cut out and popped up on some Dimensionals.  I added some Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.  The wooden button was salvaged from a Christmas card I received and attached to the ribbon with some glue dots.  I stamped the little heart and sentiment from Tiny Tags and punched out with the Jewellery Tag.

Want to earn some free stamps?  You can through Sale-A-Bration.  For every £45 you can choose one of four stamp sets or a set of designer series papers.  Check out the leaflet on my side bar.  Hostesses can also earn free stamps in addition to their normal benefits.  It's a great time to join Stampin' Up! add a free stamp set to your starter kit.

Been a strange day.  Kept dot off school as she was sent home yesterday with a note saying she hadn't been feeling well.  Sore throat and a bit dehydrated.  Then got call at lunch time today to pick up my son as he wasn't feeling well.  He did look a funny colour and promptly threw up when we got home.  So not much normal work done.  But thankfully both have perked up now.

A little birdy says Happy Valentine's

Well I don't really know what he's saying!  But it doesn't matter cos it's in French and that's the language of love....

For this card I've put together a few stamp sets.  The french words are from French Foliage (so he's probably twittering on about autumn!!) and my little hero is from one of the frames in Four Frames.  I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to just pick out the little bird and stamped onto my Whisper White card base.  I then again using a Stampin' Write Marker this time in Real Red I inked up the heart from Tiny Tags.  I like the way the ink pools on the stamp and gives a bit of depth when stamping.  Stampin' Write Markers are great for this and picking out just the details you want stamped.  I then masked both the heart and bird and stamped the word in Basic Grey after stamping off first.  This was to make the background a little more subtle.  The Mr & Mrs also from Tiny Tags was again inked with my black marker then stamped off a couple of times before punching out using the Jewellery Tag Punch.  A Basic Rhinestone gem anchors the tag to the heart.

This is for the LESS IS MORE challenge this week to use birds.

Thanks for stopping in by.  I love to read your comments they are very much appreciated. x

Delicate Doilies

Hi there Folks.  I'm so excited to tell you all the exciting news today!
The wait is over, our new catalogue is avaliable now!  Have a look -

You can view the online catalogue by clicking here.  It's also on my side bar so you can come back as often as you like.  If you prefer to look through your own book then why not get in touch by e mailing ails300@btinternet.com and I'd be happy to post one out to you.  The catalogue costs £4 (rrp £5.95).

Lots of new items are included this year.  Not only new stamp sets but also new ribbons, brads, punches, builder rollers, and of course the Big Shot from the mini catalogue to name a few.  If you enjoy sewing then we now have material which matches our colours and also matches stamp sets.  However you don't need to sew to use the material as this can add a lovely accent to cards as shown in our new catalogue (after all it is an idea book too!).  Combined with the Big Shot the projects that you can achieve are endless.

As if having the new catalogue for October wasn't enough we also have an exciting promotion too!  Have you ever thought about becoming a demonstrator yourself?  Well this might just be the incentive for you because if you join in the month of October then you will receive the 5 new in colour ink pads and matching cardstock (20 sheets, 4 of each colour) as part of your starter kit which has a value of £27.95.  The starter kit is already an amazing price of £119 for products worth in the region of £250.  This amazing starter kit can be tailored to your taste by allowing you to choose colours and stamp sets that you want.

Have a look at the flyer on my side bar.

Finally I have a card to share with you today featuring one of the new stamp sets.  The challenge this week over at Less is More is to feature a colour on your card, the colour of your eyes.  My eyes are blue so here's my card -

I decided Delicate Doilies was a good choice because your eyes have similar patterns if you look closely or is just mine?

As we all like sparkly eyes I used Shimmery White card stock.  It really does give a subtle shimmer as you can see below (hopefully!)

I stamped the large doily in Bashful Blue and the smaller in Marina Mist.  I liked the closeness of the two colours.  Friends is from Tiny Tags.  The front panel was layered onto the card base using Dimensionals.

Well thanks for looking tonight and one more thing I'm excited about - it's my birthday tomorrow!  Better turn in soon as I'm sure I'll be woken early with a rendition of Happy Birthday from my children! x

Butterfly Tag

A change from cards, here's a little tag that I made.

I used an ordinary luggage tag and sponged Early Espresso, Pacific Point and Pretty in Pink over it using my Sponge Daubers.  I then stamped a Butterfly from Butterfly Prints in Pacific Point after stamping first onto some scrap.  I attached a Perfect Plum butterfly cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and attached to a Whisper White circle which I had also sponged.  Then added a few more butterflies in Perfect Plum and Melon Mambo.  Finally I added some Pretty in Pink 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.

The inks were ones I had sitting on my desk, as was the stamp set and the butterflies were from my shapes tub (extras that had been cut out previously).

To be honest I'm not sure if the grungy look is me perhaps I'm too clean and precise but it was fun just going with the flow and seeing what emerged.  I'm sure I'll have another play some other time.

Thanks for your visit and comments.  A big welcome goes out to Stacey, thanks for following!

Wedding Wheels keep Moving

It's Saturday and a new challenge at Less is More.  This weeks theme is things that move.  Well my couple, just married, are certainly on the move!

When I looked at my stamp I wondered how it would look if Mrs above, was embossed in white.  This fits neatly into CAS-ual Fridays challenge which is all about embossing so that made my mind up to give it a try.

I stamped Wedding Wheels in Basic Black and the using my Versamark Pen I highlighted the areas that I wanted the embossing powder to stick.  I then covered it in White embossing powder and heat set.  I repeated the process to add another layer of white.  This was mounted onto a panel of Basic Black with some 1/8" taffeta ribbon tied around.  A couple of tags from the Tiny Tag set and punched out with the Jewellery Tag Punch added my little sentiment.

I'm rather pleased with the result although it did take four goes!   Hope you all have a lovely weekend. x

Simply Said Less is More

This week is a colour challenge at Less is More and we have been asked to use colours from our Nation's flag.

In the UK we have a choice of the Union Jack representing the whole of the United Kingdom or the individual flag representing each country.  As I am Scottish I decided to choose the Saltire also known as St Andrew's Cross for my card above.

I had this idea in my head for a few days and as it is based on a monochromatic colour scheme it was perfect for this weeks challenge.

I've used Pacific Point card and stamped the flowers from Simply Said and the heart from Tiny Tags in Versamark then embossed using white embossing powder.  I then mounted it on Whisper White.  This panel is popped up on Dimensionals before attaching to a Pacific Point square and placed on a Whisper White card base.

Now originally in my minds eye before seeing the challenge the panel was red so I decided to make cards representing my fellow nations.

The red and white is for England - St George's Cross and Northern Ireland - St Partrick's Cross and it's these 2 flags along with the Scottish one that make up the Union Jack.  Wales wasn't represented in the Union Jack as it wasn't a Kingdom but a Principality (amazing what you learn on google!) but I couldn't leave it out.

The colours are from Wales' national flag - The Red Dragon.

All the above cards were made using Stampin' Up! supplies which you can purchase by contacting me on ails300@btinternet.com.

Thanks for looking, I'm off to check the other entries.  I'm sure there will be lots of colourful ones.  x

Sail Away Choppy Seas

Good Afternoon Everybody.  Almost the weekend!

My card today was one that we made at my card class last night.  I'm so excited to show you this because we used the Brayer.  I had so much fun preparing for the class and experimenting different techniques with the Brayer.  So here's how we made it -

First of all we distressed a piece of Night of Navy card stock by using the edge of a nail file top and bottom and then tearing the edges.  This is so much fun and allows a lot of freedom to just,  well, get messy with it.

The Sailing ship was stamped onto a post it note and the sails cut out.  Then stamped again onto Whisper White card in Night of Navy.  The sails were masked with the cut out sails.

Then we all had a practice with the Brayer.  The idea for this card was to chop the colour into the white piece using random small movements.  It didn't matter if there were lines etc. as it was supposed to quite random, hence the choppy feel.  We used Bashful Blue and then added a little Baja Breeze.

Some twine was attached with a tag stamped from the Tiny Tags set and punched out with the Jewellery Tag punch.

Finally the card was assembled onto a Crumb Cake card stock.

Thanks for having a look and I'll share our other Brayer card soon.

What a pair!

A pair of very different cards for the FEELING FRUITY challenge at Less is More where your card is to involve fruit or fruit colours.  Gosh this made my tummy sink as I don't own any obvious fruit stamps.  Mmmm will need to think out of the box.  After a rummage I came up with 2 ideas,  yes I know 2, I'm amazed as well!

The pears were punched in Pear Pizzazz (I mean what else!) using the 2 Step Owl Punch.  Yep you heard right.  With a little trimming of the owls ears and feet you end up with a pear shape.  Sorry Mr Owl.

I gave the pears a little sponging using Old Olive and Real Red with my Sponge Daubers.  I added a little stalk to each by sponging some Whisper White with Early Espresso and free cutting the stem.

The little tag was stamped with "friends" from Tiny Tags and punched out with the Jewellery Tag Punch.  It was attached with some Linen Thread.

I scored some embossing lines on my Whisper White card blank to add a little extra interest and to ground my pears.  I'm happy with the result and as it's a friends card I think my middle will say something like "What a Pair?!".

This is my second card.  Would you believe my only stamp with some fruit is the little cherry from On a Pedestal.  So on this card I've given it center stage.  Did you spot the bowl?  It's the icing top from one of the cakes.  I coloured it directly on the stamp using my Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker.  I've added some Crystal Effects to each of the cherries as they always seem to be so shiny.  My sentiment was computer generated.  I'm rather pleased with the result on this one too as I wouldn't have thought to go down this route so thanks to Chrissie and Mandi for making us think out of the box once more.

LIM - Shades of Blue

A couple of cards for this weeks challenge at Less is more where this week it's all about shades of blue.

My first card is a wedding card.  The base is Tempting Turquoise.  The butterfly is cut out using the embosslits die.  I've used Pacific Point and Bashful Blue as my combination with a string of pearls in the centre.  Wedding is from Occasional Quotes with only the word wedding coloured in Tempting Turquoise stamped on the Whisper White.

The next card sticks with the love theme.  This time using the little heart from Tiny Tags.  Again on a Tempting Turquoise card base, I attached Whisper White card.  The hearts were stamped in Bashful Blue, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point.  The love sentiment is from the same set in Tempting Turquoise.

Well I'm quite late in joining in this week as we are just back from a fab trip down to London visiting the sites.  The main highlights were Lion King, Ripleys, the Zoo, Foo Fighters for the boys, for the girls getting our nails done.  But especially for me, roller blading in Hyde Park.  For some reason I thought I could do this, oh boy what a wobbly sight,  whilst daughter zipped along perfectly.  Glad I did it though, it's all about the experience.

Happy crafting. x

Cas-ual Fridays - tic tac toe

Go check out this weeks challenge at CAS-uals Fridays, it's a really fun one.  You get to play a game of tic tac toe by choosing a line and making the card with the elements in that line.  I chose Gems, Punch, Flowers.  So many different variations.....

A friend saw the little pink thank you card that I posted earlier and asked for one in blue.  I decided to make one for the above challenge this time using Pacific Point.  The Tiny Tags little flower makes a trellis down one side and I've added a gem for a little sparkle on the middle tag.

Tiny Tags Thanks

Hi there, Monday again.  Aren't the weeks flying past?  Soon be the summer holidays.

Today for the less is more challenge I've made this card.  The theme is colour this week and it has to be monochrome.

I've chosen Melon Mambo.  This is a tooty card, only 3" by 3" but perfect as a little thank you.  I've mounted Whisper White on a square of Melon Mambo which is then mounted on to a Whisper White card base.  I used the Tiny Tags stamp set (there's a massive 17 stamps in this set!) to create a little background for my tags.  The Melon Mambo tags were firstly stamped using the same colour ink to create an outline then punched out using the Jewellery Tag Punch.  A third tag was stamped with the thanks so much stamp on Whisper White then punched out.  Viola one sweet little card.

I love doing monochrome cards as you will see from previous entries.  I think they really stand out and Stampin' Up! makes this so easy with the card, ink, ribbons etc. all matching.

Hope you have a great week and I'm looking forward to catching up with the Limettes entries this week.

Big welcome to Mustavcoffee (love that name!) thank you so much for following me.  I'm delighted.
