Less is More in Metal

Hello Hello Hello

It's been a while, so my apologies.  Although life at home has been on the hectic side, I've still been busy creating.  Stay tuned over the next few days to see what I've been up to.

The cards I'm showing you are from today's efforts for the Less is More challenge which this week is a recipe of Metal.  I missed last week's masculine theme so decided to add that into the mix too.

I saw a tutorial on Do stamping with Dawn on faux metal and decided to have a go.  I was having so much fun with the Embossing Folders that I made a couple of cards.

This first card uses Rev Up The Fun!  I started with a Naturals White card base and stamped directly onto the card base with the tyre marks stamp, the spray and the sentiment.  I then added a Basic Black mount onto which I attached my faux metal embossed with Decorative Dots.  I stamped the tyre marks again and cut out.  I attached my red sporty car with Dimensionals and added a couple of Basic Rhinestones to the wheels.

My next card was actually the first one I made but wasn't sure it would be considered CAS enough for the challenge.

The Alphabet Press embossing folder looks fab done up as faux metal.  All I needed to add to the card was a sentiment and this one from Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired hostess set) was perfect.  I created the tag using one of the new fabby punches from the Spring/ Summer catalogue.  This is the Angled Tag Topper Punch.  I then attached a Glimmer Brad to the tag keeping the metalic feel.

This was so much fun experimenting today and I'm happy to see two more masculine cards go into my box.

Couple of things to remind you on.  Sale-a-bration is still on.  Great time to add to your stash and pick up a freebie or two.

Also I have 2 places left in my next Stampers 6 starting in April.  If you would like to spread your wish list and be a virtual hostess then please drop me a note to put your name down or to ask for more details.

Hope this has inspired you to have a go at this technique.  Did I say it was a lot of fun???

See you next time.  x
