Poppies Sending Many Thanks

Happy Saturday to you!

I got some play time today and made my card for this week's Less is More challenge which is a one layer, off the edge.

I used Naturals White cardstock and stamped Pleasant Poppies off the side and bottom edges in Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

To colour the poppies I used a brand new product from the new catalogue - Stampin' Blendabilities.  Let me take a moment to describe this fantastic new addition to the Stampin' Up! catalogue.  Blendabilies are brand new markers.  They are alcohol based and are fantastic for colouring.  They are available in 12 core colours plus a skin tone assortment.  The pens come in a pack of 3 of each of the colours (except for the skin tone which has six). A light, medium and dark.  As the name suggest these pens are made to blend!  I'll have more to show you on these another time.

In the meantime back to my card.  I coloured the poppies starting with the dark Cherry Cobbler.  I picked up the areas on the flowers that I thought would be darkest, then added the medium colouring a little further and lastly went over it all with the light.  Finally I went back into the poppies picking up the dark.

I don't have the yellows (as yet) so I dotted the middles with my Stampin' Write Marker So Saffron.

I'm loving these new pens and I hope you do too.  xx

I saw this in the LIM gallery, Aileen, and had to come and tell you how pretty I think it is! Those poppies look so natural, gently blowing in the breeze off the edge of your card!! Hugs, Darnell
