A Festive Cupcake!

Happy Halloween everyone!

House is all spooked up ready for tonight and we are suitably pumpkinned!!

However I'm sharing a festive card with you today for the challenges

CAS-ual Fridays - Using Kraft
CASology - Sugar

Cupcakes are so popular just now and not just for birthdays.  So I decided to make a festive cupcake complete with Holly and fairy lights!  I used Stampin' Up!'s Create a Cupcake and the Cupcake Builder Punch.

The cupcake base and frosting are both popped up on a Dimensional.  The fairy lights were made with the little circles on the punch and joined using my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  The Holly berries are also made from the circles with some free hand cut holly leaves.  I added some gorgeous Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details glitter to give the berries a little extra shine and sparkle.

I then stamped Merry Christmas from For My Family in Real Red.

Thought I'd share some Halloween pics.  We are all prepared and have been since Saturday when we had a family Halloween party.

A few gravestones, some spooky treats, 4 pumpkins!, papermache heads, lots of cobwebs (I dusted before we put these up honest!).

We even had a hanged man outside - Henry - but as we had snow it was rather wet and his head fell off. Then with the rain during the night he disintegrated.  However I'm away to set up outside the leg and foot coming out of the mouth of one of the pumpkins.  A man eating pumpkin mwahhaahaa (evil laugh!)

Have a safe but scary one!! x

Stampin' Up! Summer Silhouettes

Hello crafty peeps!

Just been watching the news and storm sandy hitting the cost of America.  Very scary!

So to forget about rough weather here's a summery, slightly autumnal card.  It uses one of my favourite sets from the new catalogue Summer Silhouettes.  Sometimes a stamp set stands out and this is one of those sets.

Wood 126445 £21.95 (€29,95)
Clear 126447 £17.95 (€23,95)
Onto my card.  I've kept it very simple to let the blooms do all the work.  The sketch at Less is More  was perfect.  I masked a panel on my Whisper White then stamped my blooms in Bravo Burgundy and More Mustard.  I further split the panels into 3 and sponged round the edges of the top two in Crumb Cake and the middle in More Mustard.  The Curly Cute "Thank You" sentiment was perfect along the bottom.

I hope this finds you safe and sound and full of crafty mojo. x

Wrap up warm with a chock full of Cheer

This is a very appropriate card to post today as we have had our first snow fall of the year.

Brrrr it's very cold, wish I'd had these mitts on when I was out.  I'm still in denial about winter but the old woolys are going to have to surface!

My card uses Stampin' Up!'s fabby Chock Full of Cheer set.  The base is Pool Party card with lots of mittens randomly stamped.  Then a panel of Island Indigo and Whisper White.  I inked up the mitten stamp with Island Indigo then removed ink from the middle stripe using a Blender Pen.  I re added ink in Pool Party.  It gives a super effect to the mittens, just like your Granny would knit!  Only not out of itchy wool!!

One was stamped direct to the panel the other was stamped and cut out then attached with a Dimensional after adding some Island Indigo Bakers Twine.  Do you remember when your mittens were tied with wool up one sleeve and down the other?

The rest is just some simple decoration using the border stamp in the set.  I carried the decoration onto the bottom strip of card along with the sentiment.  I corner rounded the top corners of the panel and the card.

Here's our snowy scene from earlier today.

Go look out your mitts, keep warm and stay cosy crafting. x

Just Believe in Autumn Colours

Hi there a quick post this morning.  We are off visiting today.

This card has a real autumnal feel to it by using graduating colours and the large stamp from Just Believe.  The colours are Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango and Pumpkin Pie.  Any graduating colours in your stash would have the same effect autumnal or not.

I trimmed off a strip along the bottom then re attached it to a panel of Crumb cake to make an accent for my sentiment from the same set.  I wrapped some linen thread round it and added one of those freebie brads we got a while back.  A couple of butterlies from the Beautiful Wings embosslit finishes it off.

Sorry to be so brief but must dash.  Still got some things to gather up before we head out the door.

A peek at Lovely as a Tree

Stampin Up Lovely as a Tree inset into a cricle withing Woodgrain

What does Autumn mean to you?  For me it's all about the trees.  I love the changing colours on the leaves.

Less is More this week is looking for a theme of Autumn.  What would you create?

I started with a little masking but with a completely different outcome to yesterday's Less is More card.  Today's is a sunny crisp Autumn instead of a night scene.  I punched a circle mask with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and placed this on the Whisper White base.  I coloured two trees from Stampin' Up!'s Lovely as a Tree with my Stampin' Write Markers.  Tapping some of the colours onto the branches then stamped into my circle.  I then sponged the same colours going over the edges of the trees to create a dreamy watercolour look.  I used the circle punch to punch through Chocolate Chip card and again through Crumb Cake after stamping the Crumb Cake with the Woodgrain stamp.   As my scene is a little miniature, I didn't want my sentiment to over power it, so I used Teeny Tiny wishes.  Originally this was all going to be one layer but I really have to master masking without getting the shadowy effect.  However I'm pleased with the result on this card and the darker Chocolate Chip mat helps tie it all together and make the colours pop.

Lovely as a Tree is such a favourite of mine.  So many different ways it can be used all year round.

Wood 115026 £24.95
Clear 127793 £19.95
Looking forward to seeing all your lovely crafty designs. x

Punch Potpourri sitting on a Bright Blossom

Punch Potpourri bird on a Bright Blossom Branch

Phew with few challenges in mind I've made this card.

Wings - Less is More One Layer this week
Night -  CASology
Off the edge - CASual Fridays

I did have one eye on the CASe this sketch challenge but think I should have had two! As I've strayed a little too far from the sketch.  But hey ho 3 challenges is pretty good for me.  I'm hoping I've still retained the essence of each of them.

It all centred on this little bird actually, which is from Stampin' Up!'s retired set Punch Potpourri.  There is an equally fabulous set in the new catalogue called Language of Friendship which pairs up with the Bird punch and Boho Blossoms.  No punches on this card because it's a one layer to fit with Less is More.

I sliced off one edge and cut round his tail to fit with Casual Fridays off the edge.  Then created a mask for the moon and one to cover my bird.  I sponged Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant for my night sky.  Also sponging a little onto the moon for dimension and spritzed with my Elegant Eggplant Stampin' Write Marker over the top to create my night sky for Casolgy.

So now my bird was floating in the night sky and I thought of Chrissie from Less is More.  She would not be happy to see him just floating so how could I create a branch for him to sit on?  I realised that I don't have any branches without using a punch.  However I spotted Bright Blossoms and with my stamp a ma jig and a marker I managed to create this branch with some lovely berries on it.  I added Crystal Effects to the berries to make them all nice and shiny and gave my bird a twinkly eye with a Basic Rhinestone

So thank you to all these wonderful challenges, I really like my resulting card.

Hope you are having fun to.  Take care. x

Creative Elements Floral Basket

Stampin Up Creative Elements and Manhattan Flower Folder

Hi I've created a card for two challenges today -

Dynamic Duos which has the colours Pool Party and Soft Suede.  What a gorgeous combination!  And....

I started with a Soft Suede base and added a panel of Pool Party on a mat of Whisper White.  The Pool Party was embossed with the Manhattan Flower Folder.  I added some White Organza Ribbon along the top.  Then I went a bit creative with Creative Elements!  I stamped the flower in Pool Party 3 times and fussy cut it out then layered it up adding a large Basic Pearl to the centre.  I cut a circle using the Circles 2 Die with another circle slightly off set cut from the middle.  This was popped up on Dimensionals and the flowers added to the bottom.  I decorated it with smaller Basic Pearls.  I think this now looks like a sweet little basket.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs

I can't believe we are almost one week in on our October break.  Time is flying past as usual.   Christmas will be here in no time.

Fancy earning a little spare cash or just discounting your craft stash.  Stampin' Up! have a fab promotion on just now for New Starts.  You can receive a free pack of designer series papers for 6 months when you join if you join in either October or November.  This is a super way to bump up your starter kit or just to add to your own stash.  You can contact me on ails300@btinterent.com or call on  07827923123.  Stampin' Up! is now also available in the Netherlands and Austria.  I would be delighted to discuss this with you further.

A Stampin Up Aviary Thanks

Stampin up Aviary birds and cages hanging from Creative Elements Flourish

Less is More this week is a one layer and they are looking for wings.  I also wanted to make a little thank you card for my Hubby who surprised me with an overnight stay at a 5 star hotel in Edinburgh at the weekend.  More on that in a mo.

I decided on Stampin' Up!'s Aviary because hubby likes cartoony or cutesy.  These guys seemed to do the trick.  I teamed up Aviary with Creative Elements.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs with just the word Thanks inked up using a marker.  I used my Colour Coach to come up with Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi and Pretty in Pink for a colour combo.

So shall I tell you about our anniversary trip?  It was our 15 year Anniversary last Thursday.  Thanks to everyone who passed on congrats etc. so sweet of you!  We usually only exchange cards but this year I was surprised with a trip to Edinburgh at The Glasshouse Boutique Hotel for an overnight stay on Sunday night.

Front of the Glasshouse taken from the internet
An amazing hotel and very posh.  You sit down to register!  Our room was even more amazing because we had a rooftop suite. Complete with a terrace overlooking Edinburgh with views to the Forth.  But wait there was more -  Champaigne, Chocolate strawberries, rose petal heart on the bed!  Our dinner was served in our room and was devine.  So was it off to the Theatre next door (I did clock on the way into the hotel that Phantom of the Opera was on) or off out to the trendy bars?  Nope next door, the opposite direction to the theatre, we went to the cinema!!  We're really not very posh at all!!

View from room looking toward Forth
Rooftop Garden

So it's back down to a bump and I've been told in no uncertain terms not to expect this level on any future trips.  Oh but it was good whilst it lasted.

Thanks for coming in past.  Take care x

Summer Silhouettes at the Tea Shoppe

Stampin Ups Summer Silhouette flowers in a Tea Shoppe Cup

Hi Everyone.  A quick post for you today.

I've made a card for Freshly Made Sketches

Instead of the ribbon, I've stamped the pattern from Summer Silhouettes, one of the new sets from the current Stampin' Up! catalogue, in Summer Starfruit onto the same coloured card stock, then stamped my sentiment in Elegant Eggplant from For My Family.  The card base is also Elegant Eggplant.  The main panel is made up of Whisper White and Baja Breeze.  I've used the large tea cup from Tea Shoppe in Elegant Eggplant and filled it with flowers from Summer Silhouettes.  I added the really small Basic Pearls for a little interest.

I'm off to tidy up and prepare dinner for tonight.  It's our 15th Wedding Anniversary so best make it a little special.

Thanks for your visit.  It's always appreciated. x

A fall of Stampin' Up!'s French Foliage

An autumnal panel of Stampin Up's French Foliage

Good afternoon.  Another sunny day for us but with a touch of frost this morning.

I've had a little time crafting today and made this card for CASology which has the following cue card this week

When I saw the cue card, this made me think of autumn walks with the children kicking through leaves.  So I've made a panel showing a fall of Stampin' Up!'s French Foliage using only the one leaf from the set.  I repeatedly stamped it in Cherry Cobbler, Rich Razzleberry and Cajun Craze.  The panel is attached to a Rich Razzleberry mat.  A strip of Rich Razzleberry across the front has some Linen Thread tied around it and a white button from the Naturals collection finishes it off to represent the frost!

Hope you are having a good day today and look forward to your visit.  I always enjoy visiting you too.  Take care.  x

Stampin' Up! Holiday Ornament

Sunny and bright today.  It's not easy to think of Christmas when the sun is shining although there is a definite chill to the air so Autumn is making itself felt.  And it's only 77 days till Christmas so let's get cracking!

As soon as I saw the new Autumn/Winter catalogue I wanted to have a go at making the Christmas Ornament on the front.  So this is my take on it.

It didn't take long really.  The hardest part was making the rosette open out!  I've added an antique brad to the middle giving a vintage look and my tulle ribbon is a bit more fluffy.  I'll not go into all the instructions as there are quite a few tutorials on the net. Just to say that I took the tip to run two different ornaments through the big shot together so that saved time.  Fancy having a go?  We could all have beautifully displayed trees with these on them or they would also look good on the mantlepiece.  I'm sure the design can be adapted to make a candle holder too.

This has been a very exciting month not just because I had my birthday and we will be celebrating our wedding anniversary on thursday (15 years!) but Stampin' Up! have opened up in two new countries.  A big welcome from the Stampin' Up! family goes out to the Netherlands (Nederland) and Austria (Osterreich).  Customers from these two new countries and in France, Germany and the UK can now place orders and join Stampin' Up! with any of the European Demonstrators.

This is an excellent time to join as the starter kit is only 129 € (or £99 in the UK) and you can choose 175 € of products for your kit (or £130 in the UK).  Also if you join in October or November then you will receive a free set of papers every month for 6 months!  A huge boost to your starter kit.  Join is very easy, you can email me for the link or simply click the button on my side bar to join my team.

I would love to hear from you if you would like information on joining Stampin' Up! and you live in the UK, Deutchsland, France, Nederland or Osterreich.  You can e mail me at ails300@btinternet.com or call on +447827923123

Love and Laughter Wedding Dress

As it's saturday I checked out the challenge at Less is More and found we have a colour challenge of silver.

So it was great fun to do a little embossing on this gorgeous stamp from Stampin' Up!'s Love  and Laughter.  The last time I used the dress I turned it into a prom dress so it was lovely to see all the words come up on the embossing.  I had a happy accident when I stamped with the Versamark, an ever so slight wobble.  However the result gives a bit of shading and makes the dress look like it's flowing.  Unfortunately I probably wont be able to repeat the effect! Lol

The sentiment is also embossed in silver and is from the same stamp set.  I added a little decoration to the dress with a Melon Mambo flower punched using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch.  The heart is Pink Pirouette punched from Owl Builder Punch.  A small Basic Pearl finishes it off.

The panel is attached to a Basic Black card base.

I've used the colours at this weeks Colour Q

A late night tonight.  Our daughter is in a show today and she wont be out till 10pm.  We dropped her off at 12 so it's been a long day for her.  Looking forward to seeing her in the show tomorrow.

Hope you are having a great weekend. x

Halloween Spooky Monster Milk Cartons

Thought I'd share with you the little treat boxes I made for my guests last Sunday.  Everyone got a spookily made over Milk Carton.  The Mummy shows you how they were closed at one end to allow either some Dolly Mixtures or Midget Gems to come out of the spout.

I've seen these all over the internet so I'm not laying claim to the designs.  The Mummy's bandages were sponged with some Basic Grey Ink and various circle punches for the peeping eyes.  For the pumpkin I've used the Bird Builder punch for his leaves and the petite Pennant builder punch for his mouth.

These two are my favourites.  Frankenstein and a One eyed monster.  Again just used circle punches for the eyes and the Petite Pennant Punch for the teeth and hair one my one eyed monster.

These two are actually the first designs I made.  The bat and ghost are both from the Owl Builder punch.  I did say before that this punch is versatile!  The bat carton has some spooky harvest moons on its side and the ghost carton has haunted house windows.

I've now to fill up more of these for Halloween before I eat said sweets!

I'm going to put these into Addicted to Stamps and More which this week is addicted to Halloween.

Have a not so spooky day and weekend. x

Chock Full of Cheer

Good evening

I've followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for my card today.  And for some reason it said Christmas to me!

I've used one of the new sets from our Annual Catalogue - Chock Full of Cheer.  The designer papers, Be of Good Cheer, are a match for this stamp set.

Lots of lovely elements here.

I've started with a Basic Black card base.  The ornament is stamped in Cherry Cobbler twice.  One is punched out with 1 3/4" Circle Punch, the second has the middle punched out with the 3/4" Circle Punch.  You can't really tell from the photo but the middle is popped up with a Dimensional.  A Basic Rhinestone gives a bit of glimmer to the middle.  Two different pieces of designer paper are attached to Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler.  The sentiment is Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White and I've made a little ribbon tag detail for it.  The ornament sits on a Dimensional.

I know why it said Christmas to me, it's because I'm having so much fun playing with my new goodies.  Have you had a look at the new catty yet?  Spotted any favourites?

I'd like to say Hi to my new followers Vicki and Don and Kavitha.  Thanks so much for following, it's lovely to see you here.

That's me for tonight.  Take care. x

Stampin Up Punch Art Lion

Hi there,

The cue card from CASology this week is Zoo.

Gosh I'm finding these tricky.  Are you?  I've gone down the punch art route again this week and made this not so scary lion.  He's punched out of Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight.  His mane is the Scallop Circle punch which I punched twice.  His head is a 1" Circle punch, his cheeks are 1/2" Circle punch, his nose is an eye from the Owl Punch and his ears are from the Boho Blossoms punch.  I drew in his whiskers, eyes and mouth with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  He's popped up on a Dimensional onto a Solid Stripes strip.  Then onto a Daffodil Delight square which in turn is on a Basic Black panel.  I stamped my sentiment in Versamark and embossed in White Embossing Powder

Here's a peak at the inside.  I made up a computer generated sentiment.

Hope your day involves some relaxing "lion" down or is a "roaring" success!  Sorry couldn't resist.
