Getting back to normal....

.....well not really.  Are you guys sneaking your ironing into my mountain??  I'm sure it's getting bigger no matter how much I do!  But then I haven't caught up from the holidays yet.  Also we had a birthday this week.  My son is now officially a teenager and not just a practising one!

Don't worry this wasn't his birthday card lol!  This is my entry to Less is More which has a theme of sewing.  Ahhh run to the hills!!

Perhaps not as I'm really happy with the result.  At the moment I don't have a sewing machine, something I would like to rectify as I love the effect of sewing on cards.  Any recommendations for a machine suitable for cards and small fabric gifts/cushions etc?

Anyways my card is a Whisper White base.  Whisper White can feel a little thin to be a base but it works well if you add a mat of cardstock to the front and inside.  It's also nice to put some decoration into the middle of your cards, don't you think?

Can you guess where the petals for my flower are from?  They are the wings from the Bird Builder Punch.  Neat huh?

I've used Everyday Enchantment Papers.  We have a promotion on this month to receive a free ribbon/brad bundle when you spend £45.  The bundle matches these papers and if you missed out on them during Sale-A-Bration then you have the opportunity to buy them now.  Have a look at the flyer on my side bar and I'd be happy to help you out with your order.

I used the 1/2" circle to punch out a centre for my flower and added a small Basic Rhinestone.  The stem is Certainly Celery punched out again using the Bird Builder Punch.

For the sewing I've used my Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Marker to draw around the petals and stem.  I roughed up the edges of my panel with my Paper Snips before attaching it to a matt of Pear Pizzazz.  I added a flash of patterned paper to the top corner to bring out the pattern in the petals.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Pear Pizzazz.

It was nice to get back into crafting today and the Less is More challenge.  I've missed it!  I was starting to get twitchy fingers!!

I'll show you my son's card tomorrow.  Hope you are having a lovely weekend, my ironing board is nagging me to get back to it.  Can you iron and craft at the same time?  Perhaps not!!  Take Care. x

Beautiful card, very elegant, love the colours, too! I don't do any ironing since my iron tried to brain me last year by springing off the top shelf of my closet....Valerie

That's a clever way to make your flower and love the faux stitching.
I would recommend the machine I have from John Lewis...it's there own compact design and comes in a few diffrent colours. Great for small sewing projects and cardmaking/scrapbooking :0)
