A Cup Of Thanks

I've used the new set from the Summer mini - Tea Shoppe - for my card today.  I'm a coffee drinker but this set has so many adorable stamps in it that it won me over.  Not that I'll be changing to tea though Hee Hee!

I've used one of the small cups popped up on a Dimensional with the flowers stamped behind. I scored 3 lines with my super duper Scoring Tool to ground the cup.  If you don't already have this new tool then get in touch because it really does make creating effects on your projects so quick and easy.  Under the scored lines I've stamped my sentiment in Concord Crush.  The card base is also Concord Crush.

At the secondary school that my son goes to, they all move up to the next year for the last 5 weeks before end of term.  What a great week he's had, why?  Well he had 2 days with his new 2nd year timetable then yesterday, today and tomorrow has all been activities.  He was paint balling yesterday, a trip to Dundee today and tomorrow is a full day of sports.  2nd year at school must seem fab!!

Hope you are having a fun week too.  Lovely to have you come by and visit. x

A sweet little handbag

Something a little different but very girly.  I've made a little treat handbag holder for my Stampers 6 ladies.  I like to put a little something extra into their bags each month as a thank you.  Would you like to receive a bag of goodies each month and spread the cost of your wish list?  Then please get in touch and I'll be delighted to add your name to my list.

I know there are lots of templates for handbags out there but this is one I designed myself.  I started off by measuring the treat that I was putting inside and made a template from there.  The main panel is Calypso Coral cut with two score lines in the middle (1cm apart) and then cut the sides at an angle.  Decorated  the front with some Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper that I had left over from Sale-A-Bration.  Any patterned paper would do. I used the Top Note Die to cut some Concord Crush and embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I attached one half of the top note to the back of the bag and used a hoop and loop fastener for the front.  A Basic Rhinestone gives a little sparkle.  A strip of Concord Crush makes the handle.

For the inside I made a belly band to hold the treat in place and decorated it with more of the Everyday Enchantment paper.  Sorry I should have taken a photo of the inside too but I'm sure you can figure that bit out.

I'm really pleased how they turned out.  Wouldn't they make great end of year Teacher/Leader pressies?  There's plenty space to add a gift card too.

Hope you liked my little project and I appreciate you taking the time to stop in past. x

An ickle bit of sun

Well actually a lot of sun today.  Even got the paddling pool out and the shorts were on!  However my card is just a little ickle card.

We are challenged at Less is More to make a shaped card for this week.  Not a rectangle or a square.  So the thinking cap went on and I kept coming back to the Flowers, Daisy 2 Bigz Die.  I went with Daffodil Delight because it's been so sunny with us lately.  Honestly us Brits are so delighted when we get a bit of sun because we can never tell if it's going to last.  Next week we might be back in woolly warms.  No kidding!

The card is made up of two layers from the Flowers Daisy 2 Die and 2 circles on each side of the inside from the Circles 2 Die. I stamped my sentiment from Tiny Tags in Daffodil Delight and punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch.  If you don't already have this set, I'd highly recommend it.  It adds a lot of fun to your projects.

I finished off the centre with a Rhinestone Brad

After a lovely afternoon relaxing in the sun, we were all off to the swimming pool to watch my daughter race in a local swimming gala event.  It's the first time she's taken part and was very nervous.  At the training when she dived in her goggles came off so she kept stopping.  It was with a huge amount of relief and pride to see her dive in and swim the length of the pool with no stopping and goggles still in tact!  Overall our primary school came second.  So well done to all that took part.

Wishing you all a gorgeous evening.  Take Care. x

Masculine Sail Away

Wouldn't it be nice to be out on the water today?  We are enjoying another glorious day in Aberdeen.

This card is for the Friday Mashup challenge which is to follow a sketch and make a masculine card if you wish to mash it up.  Here's the sketch -

I'm delighted to say that my card for last weeks challenge was chosen for Mashup Glamette!  You can see it here.

As we are fast approaching June and Father's Day, I've gone ahead with the mash up.

The card base is Crumb Cake.  The base mat is Concord Crush with torn edges.  I've wrapped some Linen Thread around it and added a Neutral Button.

The next panel is a Neutral Designer Series Paper with a Chocolate Chip mat.  The Sail Away panel is on Glossy Paper.  I stamped the Sail Away stamp in Concord Crush and used a Versamark pen on the sail and waves.  Then clear embossed.

I used my Brayer with some Perfect Plum and then Concord Crush to go over the image.  I then sponged the edges with Concord Crush.

Hope you ae out enjoying the sunshine whilst it here.  Thanks for coming in past. x

Reading to Woof Woof

A bit of a change today.  I've got a scrapbooking page to share with you.  I recently demonstrated at a workshop and the hostess is a keen scrapbooker.   So I wanted to show that Stampin' Up! are not just for cards but have great products for scrapbooking too.

This is my daughter, aged 2, reading a story to Woof Woof on our summer holidays.  She didn't care that the book was upside down and wouldn't let me turn it round!

I've started with a 12" by 12" sheet of Garden Green Card Stock.  I stamped the swirly branch from Everything Eleanor in the same colour of green.  I cut strips of Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper to mimic the back of the couch and laid them behind one of the photos and the other is on a mat of melon mambo.  "Woof Woof" is Melon Mambo cut with the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet.  I then made a little panel along the bottom using some more Designer Series Paper and a set of punches to create little peak a boo journaling squares.

Hopefully this has given you some inspiration.  Have a great day everyone! x

Scootering along

Another gorgeous sunny day and I think this lovely weather is going to stay with us till the weekend.  Hurray!

My card today follows the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

As you can see I've flipped it.

I've made a card for a very brave friend who decided to buy a scooter and has just passed her CBT.  Well done, Sandra!

I don't have a scooter stamp but I'm sure she wont mind.  As her new purchase is red and black I've stuck to these colours.  The Motorcycle is embossed in Black Embossing Powder and coloured using my Stampin' Write Marker.  I've also stamped Congratulations from Curly Cute in black.  I added a little L plate and some Glossy Accents to the bike.  This panel was matted onto Real Red.  I then coloured the arrow from Party This Way with my markers, Basic Black and Real Red.  This way I could avoid the word Party.

Have a great day everyone.  Thanks for popping in by. x

A birdie thank you

What a glorious day!  Been inside most of it though doing an ironing mountain.  But I'm up to date and I've had a crafty play so off outside to enjoy the sunshine.  Hope you've been able to enjoy the sunshine where you are.

I had two challenges in mind for my card.
Dynamic Duos which for this week is Basic Black and Daffodil Delight.
And CAS-ual Fridays which is to be clean and simple using punches.

I used the large Blossom Punch on a previous post as a mat and thought it would be nice to do that again.  This time I've used Daffodil Delight.  The bird is made up from the Bird Builder Punch in Basic Black.  The wing is popped up on a Dimensional and I've added a Basic Rhinestone for his eye.
The sentiment is from Curly Cute and is stamped in Basic Black.  I then used my new Scoring Tool to score around the edges, creating a frame.  I just love using this new tool.  It's so easy!

Well I'm off back outside.  Must enjoy it whilst it's here.  Hope you've had a sunny/crafty day too.  x

Edit:  I'm also entering this into The Cheerful Stamp Pad which is asking for black, white and a dash of yellow.  Thanks Valerie for pointing this challenge out.

Baby Prints Boy and Girl

Two more baby cards to share today.  I did say I just love this new stamp set!

I was delighted to see the theme at Less is More for this week is Baby or Child.  So a great excuse to reach for Baby Prints again.

My first card has Blushing Bride baby hand prints and Regal Rose for the sentiment.  Love the font in this set.  I placed a partial mount of Blushing Bride below and corner rounded the top corners.

My second card has the hand prints stamped in Sahara Sand.  This was to look like baby hand print moulds.  Mounted the panel onto bashful blue.  The sentiment is from Curly Cute also stamped in Sahara Sand and mounted onto Bashful Blue.  I then added a little scattering of Bashful Blue hearts punched using the Owl Builder Punch.

It's our school May Fair today and for the first year both children have gone on their own with their own pocket money and met up with friends.  The freedom!

Have a good day. x

Happy Anniversary

Happy Friday to you all.  Hope you have a lovely weekend planned with some crafty time included.

I've made an anniversary card which fits the Friday Mashup this week which is to use ribbons and/or bows and the mash up is to have a decorative edge.  I haven't mashed up this week.

I've started with a Basic Black card base and a mat of Blushing Bride.  On this some Very Vanilla embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Folder.  I sponged Blushing Bride over the embossed areas and corner rounded.

I wrapped Basic Black Satin Ribbon around the mat and made a lovely lush bow.  I punched out a Basic Black Blossom with the Blossom Punch.  Added, on Dimensionals, a 1 3/4" Circle of Very Vanilla stamped with a Perfect Plum heart from I {heart} hearts.  A Basic Rhinestone adds a little sparkle.  Then attached to the ribbon I made some tags using Tiny Tags and the Tag Punch

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.  x

Baby Boy Fox and Friends

This is a card we made at my card class this week.  A baby boy card to go along with the baby girl card I posted here.

I started off with a Crumb Cake base and added a mat of Bashful Blue with the corners rounded.

I then stamped some of the cute animals from Fox and Friends in So Saffron on Whisper White and punched out using the 1 1/4" Square Punch.  I also punched out 3 squares of Beau Chateau Designer Series Papers.  The squares were arranged and attached to a Marina Mist mat before running through the Square Lattice Folder

The sentiment is from Baby Prints and I've just inked up the word "baby" in Marina Mist and stamped onto Whisper White.  I corner rounded one end of the tag and snipped the other for a ribbon effect.

Let me show you the Baby Prints stamp set.

Pennant Parade Party

How did it get to the middle of the week already?  There are a few challenges that I'd like to enter but may miss the deadlines.  This one is for Dynamic Duos and I think I'm still in time for it.

The challenge is to use only the two colours - So Saffron and Pool Party but you are allowed neutrals too.

Pennant Parade and Party This Way go so well together.  For my card I created a split panel with edges corner rounded and popped up on Dimensionals.  I stamped my pennants in Pool Party on the top panel.  The middle flag has an insert stamped in So Saffron cut out and paper pieced in the centre.
Between the two panels I've stamped Happy Birthday from Curly Cute in Pool Party.
The bottom panel was repeatedly stamped with the candle and I coloured the flames with my So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker.  Then decided to add a little bling and added some Basic Rhinestones to the flags and one onto one of the candles.  The card base is Pool Party.

So I hope you are seeing a bit of sun today.  We are along with hail stones!  Weird huh!
Have a good day. x

Just for You Aviary

I had a fab crafty afternoon with some lovely ladies on Sunday.  This is the card we made.

My Hostess requested Aviary and I'm so glad because I just love this set.  The little birds are so cute especially the owl!

We started with a card base of River Rock.  The mat is Garden Green and has been embossed with Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Then cut with the corresponding Adorning Accent Edgelit.

The bird cages were stamped in River Rock and the branch from Vintage Vogue was stamped in Pear Pizzaz.  Sometimes using the stamping off method to create depth.  Then we added the little birds in Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight.  Punched out a little flower using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch and added a Basic Pearl to the middle.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and stamped in Pear Pizzaz then punched out with the Word Window punch.

Thanks again to Pam for being a wonderful hostess.  Hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did.
If you fancy hosting a workshop and receiving lots of free goodies whilst spending fun crafting then drop me an email ails300@btinternet.com and if you live in the area I'd be delighted to come along.

A big welcome to Sigrid, thanks for choosing to follow me.  Take care. x

Pastel Mixed Bunch

Hi there, glad you've dropped in!

I got a pastel card for you today using the fabulous Mixed Bunch stamp set.  I think this one would also look fab embossed in black.  I've just stamped it directly onto Whisper White in Basic Black and coloured using my Stampin' Write Markers - Marina Mist and Pink Pirouette.   I drew a line with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to create a stem.  I distressed the edges with my Craft Rubber Scissors, attached it to a Pink Pirouette mat and then onto the Marina Mist card base.

The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations stamped in Marina Mist.  Should have been slightly over to the right but oh well!!

I've dressed up my flowers with some Marina Mist ribbon and a Basic Rhinestone in the middle.

Thanks for popping in by and I look forward to catching up with you too!  Have a great weekend. x

Thanks so Much

in Pocket Silhouettes.

The challenge at less is more this week is one layer and to use 3 stamps!  Well Mrs Mojo left the building this morning and I've been struggling to say the least so as you can see my effort is super simple.

I stamped two stamps from Pocket Silhouettes and the tiny butterfly from the SAB set Elementary Elegance.  All stamped in Whisper White on a Chocolate Chip card base.  I added a tiny Basic Rhinestone to the butterfly.  You wouldn't believe how many attempts I've had today but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend.  Thanks for coming in past. x

Baby Prints in Pink

Isn't this a cutie?  I fell in love with the Baby Prints stamp set as soon as I saw it in the new Summer Mini.  I don't need a baby card at the moment.  My niece is pregnant but not due till July and we have no idea of the sex but I just wanted a play.  I'll make a baby boy one too so I'm covered either way!

When I saw the sketch over at Simply Stampin' this week I knew it was perfect to use with this set.

I started with a Crumb Cake card base.  I punched out a Lace Ribbon Border in Pink Pirouette and attached this onto the base card.  Then stamped those cute foot prints in Pretty in Pink then matted it onto the same coloured card stock.   This was mounted onto Dimensionals and attached.  I stamped cherish the moments in Pretty in Pink on Whisper White and attached to the side.  Finally I added a pink bow of Grosgrain Ribbon.

I can't believe it's the weekend already.  I still have a lot of things to catch up on before the week is over so must dash.  Hope you have a lovely Friday.  Catch up with you soon. x

Best Wishes Rosette Flowers

Hi Everyone.

The rain has finally caught up with us in the North East.  Hope it's dry where you are.

This card is for a new challenge Dynamic Duos and I better get my skates on because their first week closes today.  Here's the challenge -

You've only to use the two colours in your challenge apart from neutrals.  If you don't have these exact colours you can choose ones that are close to them.

I love the two colours together but haven't had a chance till now to have a play at making a card.  So here's how I made it -

I used Pool Party for my card base then added a Whisper White layer which was embossed with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  Down one edge of the card I've embossed lines using my new fabby Scoring Tool

Also using the scoring tool I made two rosettes out of Sale-A-Bration Designer Paper.  I punched out circles for the middles in Lucky Limeade and Pool Party.  Added a Designer Brad to the largest rosette in Lucky Limeade and for the smaller I used a normal brad in Old Olive (this was my nearest colour).

I punched out branches using the Bird Builder Punch and then used the little flower punch from Itty Bitty Shapes to make white blossom.  I snipped the flowers so the curled a little and then popped a Basic Rhinestone into each one.

For my sentiment I stamped Best Wishes in Pool Party from Sincere Salutations and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch.  I added some more bling under the sentiment actually to hide a little smudge from my stamping.  Ooops but a happy end result.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your visit.  Take care. x

Butterflies and Flourishes

This is another card for Less is More and actually was the first one I was working on.  Do you recognise the butterflies from yesterday?  They diverted me in a different direction but I decided to use them again to finish my original card.

My background panel was created by swiping my Daffodil Delight ink pad across a Whisper White square.  I then stamped the splodges from French Foliage also in Daffodil Delight.  The flourish is from Creative Elements stamped in Basic Black twice at the edge of the panel.  I coloured the little leaves using my Blender Pen in Daffodil Delight and More Mustard.  As with yesterday, one butterfly was stamped in Basic Black on Daffodil Delight.  The other was inked in More Mustard and with a blender pen added Daffodil Delight before stamping onto Whisper White.  A Basic Pearl was added to each butterfly.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I'm very interested in your comments on this one as I'm a bit out of my comfort zone with regards to the background.  However it is great to challenge yourself and I'm pleased to have made two completely different looking cards using the same stamp set and same colour scheme.

A big welcome to Mechthild.  Thanks for choosing to follow me.  Have a great mid week everyone! x

Creative Elements Butterflies

I hope everyone has had a super holiday weekend.  We all did.  My daughter was off on a Brownie weekend and had a fab time at PGL in Dalguise near Perth.  Thanks to all the Brownie Leaders and helpers who always plan a wonderful time for the girls.  My son spent the weekend at his Granny's being spoilt rotten and not chased off his laptop which he would be at home!  And my husband and I spent the weekend in Edinburgh.  More on that later.

Firstly onto my card for today which is following the guidelines over at Less is More.  This is a colour week and as if you can't guess the colour is yellow.

I've started with a Daffodil Delight card base and added a strip of Basic Black embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I stamped my butterfly from Creative Elements twice.  Firstly in More Mustard with the centre coloured with Daffodil Delight using my Blender Pen directly onto the stamp before stamping onto Whisper White.  The second was stamped in Basic Black onto Daffodil Delight.  I've added a Basic Pearl to the centres of the butterflies.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

This card fell together after going down a different route and I'd laid the butterflies onto some black temporarily.  Then thought they looked quite nice and so digressed to make this card.  I'll show you the other card tomorrow.

Well I said I'd say a bit more about our trip and I've included some photos taken by hubby.
Back of Edinburgh Castle

Our first challenge was to find our apartment which we knew was off the Royal Mile (the road that leads up to the castle) at James Court but we couldn't find a road leading to it.  So we parked up the car and set out on foot pulling our cases.  Turned out James Court is a narrow alley way leading to a court yard behind the Royal Mile.
Our Apartment.  Reached by
climbing a dizzying stone and
wood circular staircase.
James Court

The alleyway leading back to the main road.

Although the apartment was basic to say the least.  We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the historical background and discovering these hidden away court yards we wouldn't have known otherwise.

Thanks for popping in by and I hope to do some catching up later. x

Everything Eleanor Best Wishes

I may be put on the naughty step for this one because I've taken a lot of liberty with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

What do you think?

My tall panel sits above the top of the card and is Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler.  I stamped the superb swirl in Basic Black.  I can see this stamp being used loads!  Wouldn't it be fab on scrapbook pages too?
The smaller rectangle is my large frame stamped in Soft Suede and cut out.  Best Wishes is from Sincere Salutations and stamped in Basic Black.  I've brought this part of the sketch to the foreground and popped it up on Dimensionals.  I've also added Baja Breeze Pleated Satin Ribbon with one side tucked under the tall panel and the other creating a small loop.
The circle element is my bunch of flowers stamped in Baja Breeze and cut out.  The main flower has two layers with some Basic Pearls in the middle.

I hope you can still see the elements of the sketch.  Why not have a go yourself.  Thanks for stopping in past and for all your lovely comments.  They mean a lot! x

Bordering on Romance

Wowee I've got so much to tell you today.  Grab a cuppa!

I'm so excited to finally be able to reveal the Summer mini to you all.  There are so many new yummy products in here.  It would take too long to list everything so do have a look for yourself.

Click here to browse through the cattie.

My card uses some of the new goodies.  Here's a run down -

The base is Pink Pirouette with a mat of Early Espresso.  The curve at the top of the Early Espresso and Whisper White has been made by using the Edgelit Die - Adorning Accents.   Did you notice the embossing?  I've embossed the top and bottom with Textured Impressions Embossing Folders - also Adorning Accents.  Stampin' Up! are brilliant at co-ordinating tools and stamps.  It makes projects so easy to make.  I stamped Bordering on Romance in Early Espresso and coloured with Stampin' Write Markers.  The colours are Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette and Rose Red.  Along the bottom edge I've attached the new Pleated Satin Ribbon in Baja Breeze.  Wouldn't this be fab on you scrapbooking projects?  I attached this with Dimensionals.  The sentiment is from Create A Cupcake (sadly no longer available) and is stamped in Rose Red then punched with the Modern Label Punch.  This was also attached with dimensionals.

So back to the other goodies available.  Did you spot the new scoring tool exclusively designed for Stampin' Up!?  You can score cards, make designs, score 3D objects.  I'm really excited about this tool.  It's going to make projects fun, fast and easy!
Your scoring tool comes with imperial measurements but if you prefer metric then you can add this as a separate plate (127531 £10.95) which fits neatly onto your main tool.

And now we also have the diagonal plate to offer you.

125586 £10.95

You can make your own envelopes, score designs, make boxes and more. You can watch this You Tube video to see more on this fantastic plate.

Oh my goodness there's a lot to take in but it doesn't stop there.

Stampin' Up! have completely revised their STARTER KIT.  It is now at the reduced price of £99.  You now have complete flexibility to choose the products that you want in your kit up to the value of £130.  A business kit is included free (value £45) and there is no postage to pay for your kit.

During the month of May all new recruits will be able to have free registration for convention in Mainz, Germany in November.  This is a saving of £149!

If you are still with me after all this, I'd like to pass on my thanks!

I'll leave you to peruse the Summer mini at your leisure.
