Watercolour Christmas

Bit of an experiment here.  I got out my Stamping' Up! Watercolour Pencils and paper and stamped these images from White Christmas. Then used an Aqua Painter to spread the colour around. I'm in awe of all those beautiful results you see on the net so much more practise required.

I mounted my panel onto Silver Foil then onto Whisper White before attaching to a Night of Navy card base.  I topped my water colour panel with a Window sheet and used Candy Dots to cover the Glue Dots in the corners.

I dusted off my Watercolour Pencils so I can join in this week's challenge over at Merry Monday

Doesn't this birdie look fab?  Mmm maybe I shouldn't pack the pencils away again quite so quickly and experiment some more!

See you next time.

Techno! Techno! Techno!

"Techno! Techno! Techno!" That's what my little robots are saying as they walk across this birthday card.

I've joined in with the Less is More this week which threw me a real challenge as the theme is technology.
After much scratching of head I thought I'd use this little image from Boys Will Be Boys as there's been a lot in the news about artificial intelligence.

My card base is Basic Grey and I've added a panel of Silver foil embossed with Chevrons.  I then stamped a couple of robots in Basic Grey stamping off first to give a lighter image.  The sentiment was stamped onto a little piece of Basic Grey. For my main focal robot, I stamped him in Basic Grey and coloured him in Real Red using my Stamping' Write Marker.  Then the fun part, I covered him in Crystal Effects.  He's so shiny and 3d.  I left him to completely dry, overnight, then cut him out and attached him with some Dimensionals.

Hope you get more of an idea from this pic.

This was so cool to make.  I love the way the Silver Foil takes to the embossing and the crystal effects gives such a glossy look.

Hope you've had a great weekend and thanks so much for your visit.

xx

Congrats to you two - Your Perfect Day

So simple and so elegant!

This is a 6" by 6" card that I made for a wedding card. It has a mat of So Saffron card stock with an oval of Whisper White.  The wedding cake from Your Perfect Day (retired) is stamped in So Saffron with tiny pearls added.  I used a couple of nesting oval frailest from my stash to cut it out.  I wrapped some Whisper White satin ribbon around the mat.

Did you know you can easily colour this ribbon using your ink pads?

The sentiment was stamped in Sahara Sand and the little border flowers were stamped in Daffodil Delight.

What do you think?  Easy peasy?

Take care. x

It's Been Awhile!

Wow it's been awhile!

Thought I'd share a little project that has taken me probably around two years to complete.  If I'd sat down and just got on with it, it would have only taken about 3 days.  Have you ever had any projects like that?  I have to give credit to my Mum who stood at my shoulder helping me understand the instructions.

I followed a pattern from an Amy Butler book and used her fabric too.

I'm so proud of myself as it's my first major project doing grown up sewing!  Here's a pick of the middle complete with lining and divider and metal clasp thingies.

Did I pack up the sewing machine for another couple of years?  Nope whilst it was out I made a little thingy ma jig for a friends birthday which I will proudly show you at a later date.

It's been hard to find my crafty mojo and for awhile I thought it had completely deserted me, but I think I've rediscovered it.  Making a totally different project has certainly helped.

Take care. xx
