Stampin' Up!'s Woodgrain as Snow??!

Good Evening Peeps.

Ever made a card when you liked the idea, didn't like it as it was coming together then loved it when it was made?  This was the process I went through today.  I loved the playing that went into this especially as ideas weren't just popping into my head.

I started off looking at my favourite challenges and decided to make a card to fit two of them.  Details of the challenges are below.

To make the card I embossed the Bashful Blue mat with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder on one edge only.  The tree is from Lovely as a Tree and is stamped in Whisper White on Night of Navy.  I found this in my scraps drawer so was happy to put it to good use. The snow drift was also a scrap from a previous card and when I looked at it I thought the Woodgrain made super snow drifts.  It naturally tore along the grain edge.  I love it when you discover different uses for your stash.

I then stamped a snowflake from Mixed Medley (hostess set from Autumn/Winter mini due to finish in 2 days time!!) in Bashful Blue and added the sentiment in Night of Navy.  I popped up the middle circle with a Dimensional.  I punched out the snowflake sentiment with the 1 3/8" circle and the 3/4" circle punches

If there is anything in the Autumn/Winter catalogue that you would still like then please get in touch as soon as possible.  I would hate you to miss out!  Thanks for visiting me today. x

Here's the challenges

So first off Merry Monday which has a Tic Tac Toe challenge this week.

Plenty of choice there.  My card follows the top row - Blue, Dry Embossing, Snow.

Just read your comment - I fell down today, but not on the ice, just missed the last step. Big ouch, so off to bed now with painkillers and hotties! Hope your daughter didn't hurt herself too much! Valerie

The wood grain makes a great snowy field and I know the feeling of being too late for a challenge, did the same thing myself today! Xx

The woodgrain works beautifully for snow, Aileen! I would never have thought of that! And I love the white tree against the navy and the tiny little snowflake sentiment is the perfect finishing touch! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Merry Monday!
