Me and You Tea for Two

Happy Friday Everyone!

Another hectic day planned but I'm taking 5 minutes out to share this card with you.  I've followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

This is my daughter's card to my husband for his birthday.  (Don't worry I think he'll be too busy to look on my blog).  Normally she would make the card herself but decided to take up knitting so was too busy concentrating on that.  I was given instructions as to what she wanted.  My husband likes his tea so we decided on Tea Shoppe.  She liked the large cup and I think it suits the sketch.  It is a bit flowery though so I put a label on punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch, then added a mat behind it.  The choice of colours were also an attempt at masculinity and the pumpkin Pie panel has been embossed with Perfect polka Dots Embossing Folder.  My daughter had suggested in our discussions that the the tea cup should have wings attached to it!  Thankfully she hasn't noticed there are no wings, that would have stretched the masculine feel to the limit!!

This was done with a constant stream of "oops Mum I've dropped a stitch!"  Here's the result of all that hard work knitting.  It's a square in case you're not sure and yes the needle is picking up a dropped stitch discovered after I cast off for her.............. Bless!

This pretty tea cup is a perfect shape for this sketch! The label on the cup is a great idea to make it masculine! Hope he has a great birthday.

Good job Holly, knitting is quite a tricky skill to learn (I'm pretty rubbish at it). Good job Mum too with the card - now get back to that packing!! xx

Perfect for a tea-lover and great way to interpret the sketch too :0)
I remember when I first tried knitting...my mum was forever being pestered with dropped stitches..... I never quite got round to knitting my cindy dolls clothes though!!
Tell your daughter she's doing great, the square looks neat to me :0)

When I knit, I constantly drop stitches and then the wool gets pulled tighter and tighter until I can hardly fit the needle in! What a lovely crafty family you have! And great card too!
