Stampin' Up!'s Something For Baby

How's your Saturday?

I've had a very relaxing day and had some time to potter about in my crafty area.  We will have to brave the snowy weather though as we have tickets to go to the theatre to see Shrek tonight.  Can't wait!

I didn't manage to join in last week at Less is More but have followed the sketch for this week's theme of Little ones.
This said babies to me.

I've started with a Soft Sky base and added a mat of Whisper White embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I then stamped onto a strip of Whisper White using the elements from Something For Baby. I snipped the bottom to give a ribbon effect and distressed the edges. The little duck was cut out with the matching framelits, Baby's First and popped up on a dimensional.  Love it when you can get matching framelits and punches to the stamp sets.  It makes it all so easy!  I stamped and free cut the little heart to adorn my little duck.

So that's a baby boy card to go into my box ready for a happy event!

Right time to hussle up the gang and get our Shrek on.  x

Tag you're it!

Ha Ha Tag you're it!

It's Saturday night, sitting here watching the Voice with a glass of red.  Life in the fast lane!  So I'm tagging you to admit what you are doing right now!!  Be truthful if you dare.......Ha Ha.

Also to show you this little pressie I made for my Stampers 6 Virtual Hostess Club.  Its a bag of tags made up from the Tag a Bag Accessory kit and my own tag as decoration.  I used the Angled Tag Topper Punch on Whisper White and decorated it with a gold foil bow using the Bow Builder Punch.  I stamped the message from Merry Everything (retired) in Cherry Cobbler on Real Red card stock.

I finished it with some Baker's Twine and a large Basic Rhinestone.

Here's a close up.

Have a fun evening.  x

Hot Diggity Dog!

Hot Diggity Dog!!

Not so hot here, it's snowing today.  Not as bad as some areas of Scotland, more a dusting.

"Diggity" is the nickname we give our dog, Jess. because she likes to dig in the garden.  I think it would make a cool name for a dog.

I made these little cards for my Virtual Hostess Club to say thank you for their orders.  Of course it's using the Hot Diggity Dog set where you can mix and match your doggies.  I've got mine balancing a present of a bone on his nose.  The sentiment "just fur you" is also from the set.  Stampin' Up!'s Gorgeous Grunge provides the ground for my doggy.

I'm going to pop this into Less is more for their friends week. Our doggy is so friendly she comes and gives you a hug and is truly a four legged friend.

Here's our furry bundle now to be called "Princess" Diggity!  Look at her thinking she has every right to be on that couch!

Stampin' Up!'s Sheltering Tree

Good Morning.

Whilst it's snowing outside, I had a quick side trip into the crafty space and made this card for Less is More.  It's the dreaded one layer week and the theme is New Beginnings.

I've used another newbie from the spring/summer catalogue - Sheltering Tree.  This set has loads of options.  There's the bike, a rake, a swing, blossom, leaves and four sentiments to go with them.  You could do a seasonal set of cards or just mix and match the elements.

I've stamped the tree off the edge in Soft Suede.  The tree looks fantastic all bare but for the theme of new beginnings I added some Pistachio Pudding leaves on the ends.  They're my new buds.  And like a lot of people at this time of year the bike is for the start of new beginnings and a new exercise regime.  The bike is stamped in Basic Black and Real Red. The ground is stamped in Crumb Cake.  I added the sentiment in Real Red.  I used a Crumb Cake base for my card and I'm really pleased how the little scene has come together.

I felt I should be adding touches of white to the tree in view of the scene outside!

Hope it's warmer with you.  x

    Happy Birthday Lotus Flower

Rushing in at the last minute for a card for this week's Less is More challenge which is a colour challenge. The selection is Black, Metallic plus one.  I've added red for my lotus blossom.

As the challenge closes very soon, I'm going to pop this in and update with all the details later.

    So see you soon. x

    Hi I'm back.

Did you notice that I'd used some new goodies from the Spring/Summer catalogue and also from Sale-a-bration?

There's lots of yummy new goodies to explore and if you spend £45 then you can choose a free item from Sale A Bration.

So here's how I made my card. I started with a Whisper White base and added a mat of brushed gold.  The Whisper White panel was punched at the corners using a circle punch.
I thought the stems from Painted Petals looked a bit like bamboo so I stamped first in Basic Black then again in Versamark and embossed in gold.  The lotus blossom is made up of 3 stamps, each one is numbered and has a marker to make it easier to line up.  I used Cherry Blossom. Real Red and Strawberry Slush.  I'm looking forward to experimenting with different colours.  I attached some Basic Black ribbon to add drama.  Happy Birthday is stamped in Basic Black from Crazy About You.

It's was fun to dust off the old crafty corner and play with my new goodies.

    Have a good evening. x
