Stampin' Up! Baby Prints Cherished

I have a very simple sweet card for you today.  Now bear with me when I say that my inspiration came from CASology's cue card - Game

Whilst looking at my stamp sets, wondering what I would or in fact could use for the challenge, my eyes kept coming back to the hands from Baby Prints.  Why?  because I remembered playing lots of clapping games with my friends.  Unfortunately I can't remember any of the songs, only "3 6 9 the goose drank wine..........." However as it was made into a pop song that's maybe why it sticks in my mind rather the actual rhymes I sang as a child.  If you can remember any favourites I'd love to hear them!

The sentiment Cherish the Moments is great for a baby card as time passes so quickly and they are not babies for long but I also thought it was appropriate here.  To cherish our memories of games long past. What's happened to skipping? playing with 2 balls against the wall? (there was a whole lot of songs to go with that too!) chinese ropes?  Can you think of any others?

As the card is really very self explanatory I'll just list the supplies below.

Tomorrow is the first of Feb.  Hasn't this been a fast January?  Come back and visit to see the new Mini catalogue.  Lots of fabulous products in there to drool over.  You'll love it I'm sure.

Like receiving products each month and would love to be a hostess without having to have a party?  I'm taking names for the places I have available in my next Stampers 6 starting April.  It's not too early to put your name down.  Have a look at my Virtual Hostess Page for all the details.

So I'll leave you with that and would love to hear about your favourite childhood games and if you can jog my memory with clapping, ball, skipping rhymes even better! xx

Feeling Sentimental about the Big Wheel

Well not really.  I don't mind the Big Wheel and love Roller Coasters but I can't do the Waltzers, that goes for my tummy.  All that spinning round.  I only just managed to do the Tea Cups at Disney!

A monochromatic card for you today following the colours over at Dynamic Duos - Soft Suede and Crumb Cake.

The vintage images from Sale-A-Bration's Feeling Sentimental look fab in the neutral colours.  I stamped the Big Wheel in Soft Suede and mounted it onto a mat of the same colour.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Crumb Cake then used my marker to draw some birds in the top corner.  We have a fun beach in Aberdeen which has a Big wheel  and there are always seagulls around so just had to add some here.

As I've used a marker I'm going to add this into CASual Fridays which for this week is Make Your Mark.

It's been a very bright sunny day today but also cold and windy.  And we have grass again.  Almost all the snow is gone and all that is left of my daughter's snowman are 2 grapes and a carrot.  She thought it was very funny that they still made a face on the grass!

Keep warm, Keep safe, Keep crafting. xx

Stampin' Up!'s Woodgrain as Snow??!

Good Evening Peeps.

Ever made a card when you liked the idea, didn't like it as it was coming together then loved it when it was made?  This was the process I went through today.  I loved the playing that went into this especially as ideas weren't just popping into my head.

I started off looking at my favourite challenges and decided to make a card to fit two of them.  Details of the challenges are below.

To make the card I embossed the Bashful Blue mat with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder on one edge only.  The tree is from Lovely as a Tree and is stamped in Whisper White on Night of Navy.  I found this in my scraps drawer so was happy to put it to good use. The snow drift was also a scrap from a previous card and when I looked at it I thought the Woodgrain made super snow drifts.  It naturally tore along the grain edge.  I love it when you discover different uses for your stash.

I then stamped a snowflake from Mixed Medley (hostess set from Autumn/Winter mini due to finish in 2 days time!!) in Bashful Blue and added the sentiment in Night of Navy.  I popped up the middle circle with a Dimensional.  I punched out the snowflake sentiment with the 1 3/8" circle and the 3/4" circle punches

If there is anything in the Autumn/Winter catalogue that you would still like then please get in touch as soon as possible.  I would hate you to miss out!  Thanks for visiting me today. x

Here's the challenges

So first off Merry Monday which has a Tic Tac Toe challenge this week.

Plenty of choice there.  My card follows the top row - Blue, Dry Embossing, Snow.

The second challenge was CASe This Sketch

Unfortunately the challenge closed earlier today.  Oh well thanks for the inspiration.

Sneak Peek at Stampin' Up!'s Hearts a Flutter

A quick post today, my Hubby gets back today after a fortnight away so my Heart is all a Flutter!! Hee Hee

I've followed the sketch at Less is More for my card.

I started off by stamping this gorgeous sentiment from Vintage Verses in Cherry Cobbler.  You can get this set for FREE during Sale-A-Bration when you place an order for £45.  I'd love to organise your parcel of yummy goodies, drop me an email ails300@btinternet.com.

I still had some Sahara Sand on my desk from my previous card so used it for my banner.  I rollered my Music Notes Wheel and embossed a line above and below.  Then attached it to my Whisper White card base.

The banner and heart come from the Hearts A Flutter stamp set.  This is a new set from the Spring/Summer catalogue and has matching Framelits.  You can buy the two together in a bundle and save!  Don't worry you don't have long to wait to see the full catalogue as it starts on the 1st Feb.

The heart is popped up on a Dimensional and a Basic Pearl finishes it off.

I'm going to use this as a Valentine's card but it could easily suit a Birthday or an Anniversary.

I can't believe we are almost at February.  I'll be organising my next Stampers 6 starting in April so here's a heads up.  I know I'm going to have spaces available so if you would like to receive a parcel of goodies each month with a small gift from me and hostess benefits in one of those months then please get in touch.  ails300@btinternet.com

A big welcome to Ardyth thanks for choosing to follow me.

Keep warm everyone. x

A Chamomile Tea Shoppe

Brrrrrr would you love a cup of tea right now?  I know I would.  We've had snow on and off most of today.  It doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon.  So it's stay inside, defrost your mojo and do a little crafting!

I stamped my large tea cup from Tea Shoppe in Pacific Point onto Sahara Sand and cut out using my Paper Snips.  I then used the Chamomile Wheel to create a pattern on Pacific Point cardstock.  Then run it across the Sahara Sand mat.  I used one of the Bitty Banner Framelits to cut out the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I corner rounded my Sahara Sand mat and attached to a Pacific Point Base.  The cup was added with Dimensionals and three Basic Rhinestones pick up the pattern on the cup.

The Bitty Banner Framelits has a stamp set to go with it, Itty Bitty Banners, and during Sale-A-Bration you can order this stamp set for free!  have you picked out your favourites yet?

I'm going to pop this in to the following challenges -
At Casology this week they have a cue card of Drink
Freshly Made Sketches have a super sketch to follow this week

Less is More is being very friendly this week with a theme of friends so I'd like to pop this in over there too.

Here's our snowy scene from this morning walking up to school.

Hope this finds you warm and cosy.  Thanks for coming in past. x

Morning Post BFF

I've had a bit of a mojo freeze the last few days.  I saw the challenge on Saturday for Less is More which has a theme of Friends, and my mind went blank.  It's not a hard theme and I'm sure they have loads of entries already but it seems to have given me a mental block.

So this is what I've been working on the for the last couple of days!  I know it doesn't look a lot but I am very pleased with the end result, just took a long time to get here.

I started with a Whisper White base.  I added a Sahara Sand panel with an embossed row of cross stitching.  This is one of two new embossing folders from the Spring/Summer catalogue called Needlepoint Border.  They'll match up with the stamp set Hoop La La in the main catalogue brilliantly.

I stamped my letters from Morning Post in Pacific Point using my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to line them up.  Now I have to say at this point I spent ages lining my letters up.  Here's my first attempt -

Aren't those letters beautifully lined up?  But you'll have spotted the mistake.  Yep two B's and 1 F!! Doh!  Deep breath start again and the result is on the top card.  Lesson learned when trying to spell don't get too engrossed in the Great British Bakeoff!  It's the only reason I can think of for my mistake but I may still rescue this with a Best Buds Forever.  After all they are lined up brilliantly and it would be a shame to waste it.................

The hand is part of the stamp set and there are two so you can point in any direction.  I added "to my" from For My Family stamp set and snipped the ends into a ribbon banner.

I think this could suit a variety of reasons - birthday, thank you even a valentine's.

My son is quite put out.  5,000 schools closed but his isn't and we have snow!  Life is so unfair isn't it?

A big welcome to Shawn, thanks for joining my little blog.  Hope to see you visiting often.

I hope all is well with you.  Remember to pop back tomorrow for the start of SALE-A-BRATION.  It's going to be so exciting!! xx

Honeycomb Just For You

Oh am I being good to you? Another sneak peek, but not from Sale-A-Bration this time, instead from the new mini Spring/Summer Catalogue which starts on the 1.2.2013.  Not that far away.

I've followed the sketch at CASe This Sketch to show case this gorgeous Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  I'm sure it's going to be very popular.

The patterned papers are from the Brights Stack.  I ran scraps through the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and then Paper Snipped out the hexagon shapes.
I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to place my sentiment accurately from Teeny Tiny Wishes which fit just nicely into the design.

The colours I've chosen are from CAS - Colours and Sketches which for this week is Old Olive, Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo.

If I've piqued your interest with regards to Sale-A-Bration over the past few days or the new Spring/Summer catalogue then please get in touch.  I'd be happy to help you receive a parcel of lovely new goodies when the promotions go live.

Bloomin Marvelous Peek at Sale A Bration 2013

Hi Everyone.  How are you today?  I'm exhausted!!  What was I doing??  Shovelling snow!  Hopefully that's it for today.

I have another sneak peek at Bloomin' Marvelous from the Sale A Bration catalogue 2013. Isn't it cute?  I've teamed it up with the Woodgrain folder.  I found that it is such a deep emboss it was tearing through the Whisper White so I opted to attached it to Sahara Sand then run it through the Big Shot.  That worked super.  Have you found any problems and have any solutions?  I'd love to hear them.  I must admit my plates are really needing replaced.

I made a ribbon banner and attached the flowers and butterfly with Dimensionals.  I stamped them in So Saffron and Certainly Celery.  The sentiment is from the same set and punched out with the Curly Label Punch.

There's a few challenges that I can put this card into so here goes -

1. Addicted to CAS which has a code word of Embossing

2. Addicted to Stamps and More which has a theme of nature

3. Dynamic Duos - So Saffron and Certainly Celery

Here's a look at our snowy scene.  Taken this morning.

Thanks for calling in past.  Keep Cosy. x

Be of Good Cheer Snowflake

Okay we have enough snow now!  I'm typing this as I watch huge flakes fall.  A very christmassy scene outside plenty for sledging and making snowmen but I think I'd rather stay inside!!

So it doesn't seem strange at all to still be making Christmas cards.  This is for the Merry Monday challenge which gives us a sketch to follow.

I've used a Very Vanilla card base and some Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper as a background.  I then made a banner and stamped with a Sentiment from Curly Cute in Gumball Green.  I added a Basic Pearl at one end as the circle in the sketch.  For my focal point I punched a 2 1/2" circle of Very Vanilla.  Then die cut a snowflake using Snow Flurry Bigz die out of Red Glimmer Card.  The third layer was added with a Dimensional and a Large Pearl added to the top.

I love how the snowflake has transformed the circle into a floral shape.  This die is from the Autumn/Winter catalogue which is due to finish at the end of this month.  Don't let it run out before getting your favourites.

Here's a little tag I made with the leftovers.

Well the children have arrived home from school through the wintry snowscape so best be off to make some much needed hot chocolates for a heat up.

Another sneak peek at Sale-A-Bration 2013

I have another sneak peek for you from Sale-A-Bration 2013 again using the Feeling Sentimental stamp set.

I've used it on my card for the Less is More challenge this week which is One Layer with a theme of Sport or Exercise.

I'm sure we would all like to lose a few pounds (or a lot more in my case) after Christmas.  I'm sure you would burn heaps of calories on this old Penny Farthing.  Just getting up on it for one thing!!  At the Alford Transport Museum they have a Penny Farthing bolted to the floor with a step ladder so you can have a shot of sitting on it. A bit too high up for me I like to be able to get my feet on the ground.

My card is very simple so not a lot to tell really.  The sentiment was printed onto a Whisper White card base using my PC and the font is Giddyup STD.  Then the image was stamped in Old Olive.  I scored a pattern along the bottom to ground the image and sentiment.

Well no real snow yet.  We did have a bit of sleet earlier so i think we will head out for a while.

Have a great weekend. x

A peek at Lovely as a Tree in a snowy scene

A wintry scene for you today.  Apparently according to the weathermen we have snow on the  way.

I decided to see if I could create a scene following the sketch at CASe This Sketch.

I sponged some snow banks using Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point.  I masked a tree from Lovely as a Tree to set a lone pine in my scene.  I then stamped my sentiment from Petite Pairs in Real Red.  The Whisper White panel was attached to a Pacific Point mat then added to the Whisper White base.  Unfortunately you can't see from the photo but I added dots of glitter to the branches for a little festive sparkle.

I'm also going to enter my card into Casology which has a cue word of Winter.

I do hope we don't see as much snow as this, we have been enjoying a lovely period of mild weather.

I hope it stays warm with you too and thanks for joining me today. x

Bloomin' Marvelous Sneak Peek at Sale-A-Bration 2013

Hope you are having a Bloomin' Marvelous day!!

My card today follows the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

This was also for another challenge, Inkspirational, but I missed the deadline.  Doh!!  Time just got away from me today.  This week was a colour challenge using Black, Dark Pink and Kiwi.  So I used Basic Black, Melon Mambo, and Lucky Limeade.

I've started off with a Whisper White base.  I then made a panel of Basic Black and Whisper White with the top corners rounded.  I stamped the leaves and flowers from Bloomin' Marvelous.  Then stamped another flower and bird and fussy cut out.  They are popped up on a dimensional and the bird has a Basic Rhinestone for his eye.  Adds a little sparkle.  The  sentiment strip is made up of Melon Mambo Designer Paper from the Brights Stack and a strip of Basic Black.  The sentiment is punched out using Curly Label Punch and a couple of Basic Rhinestones to follow the sketch.

It was fun to use some bright colours and a spring theme.

A big Hello and Welcome to my new followers, Stamping Girl and Darnell.  Lovely to see you here.

That's all for me today, happy crafting. x

Four Seasons for Merry Monday

I've watched Bonnie make some lovely cards over the past year with Merry Monday and whilst I was struggling to keep up with the cards I required, I vowed to join in this year.  So here I am with a card for the first challenge of the year following the colours Island Indigo, Real Red, and Pool Party.

I stamped my image from the Hostess set Four Seasons, in Island Indigo and then again in Real Red and punched out using circle punches.  I cut a background in Pool Party using the Labels Collection Framelit and embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.  I attach the ring of snowflakes with Dimensionals with the robin circle in recess.  Then added some Basic Rhinestones to the snowflakes.  On the Whisper White base I stamped the snowflake in pool party, sometimes stamping without reinking.  I made a sentiment banner with the More Merry Messages Set.

Whilst I was trying out the colour variations, I made a couple of tags from the leftovers.  Another tick in the box to have a supply of tags on hand!

Can you hear me patting myself on my back?  Well it probably wont last but I will try!

A big Hello and welcome to my new followers - Jen, Jmsluyter, Autumn Mist.  I'm so pleased to welcome you here.

I'm delighted to share with you that I was chosen as December winner at Less is More.  This was the first challenge site I entered when I started blogging so it's extra sweet to have this win.  Thanks Ladies I've a permanent big grin!

I'm also delighted to say I was a Dynamic Darling at  Dynamic Duo for this card.  Wow hope this means I have a lucky year coming up even though it has a 13 at the end!!

I also hope 2013 proves to be very lucky for you too.  All the best. x

Sneak Peek for Sale-A-Bration 2013

Yes I've got a sneak peek for you today.  I've used one of the new Sale-A-Bration sets on my card.  Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration happens once a year and this year is a biggy!  Stampin' Up! is celebrating it's 25th anniversary this year so they have added in a little extra so you can celebrate too!  Be sure to join us when the party starts on 22nd January.

So onto my card.  These stamps are from Feeling Sentimental.  And don't they just do that?  You don't see many red telephone boxes anymore.  I've hinted at the red using my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker, just picking up a couple of areas.  I then added a strip of Basic Black embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder to give it a grounding.  Then a little bit of detail using 1/8" Taffetta ribbon and a heart punched out of Red Glimmer Paper using the Owl Punch

This is a super set for masculine cards and is free during sale-a-bration when you spend £45.  Be sure to mark the date in you calendar I'm sure you'll want to take part.

My card fits nicely into the challenge at Less is More this week which is Black and White with a touch of colour.

We took down our decorations today, gosh the living room looks big!  Happy weekend everyone! x
