Santa Owl

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend.

I spent a fun afternoon crafting for some lovely ladies.  This is the card we made and Suze spotted right away that it would fit the challenge at Dynamic Duos which is Cherry Cobbler and a colour of your choice along with neutrals if you wish.  My other colour is Gumball Green.

We started with a Cherry Cobbler base then added a panel of Whisper White which was embossed with Perfect Polka Dots.  Remember to stamp your sentiment first though.  This one is from Chock Full of Cheer (a new set available from tomorrow!) and is stamped in Gumball Green.  We added a ribbon banner from the beautiful Be Of Good Cheer christmas designer papers using the 1 1/4" Square Punch

Now the real fun part was making up this cute Santa owl.  His body is punched out of Chocolate Chip using the Owl Punch, his eyes are Whisper White and Basic Black.  We used Red Glimmer Paper for his vest and hat. For the hat we used the Petite Pennants Punch, just punching out the tip to get the correct size.  I just love all the sparkle you get from the glimmer paper, even when you use a small amount.  His belt is a strip of black with a Whisper White flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes.  The circle in the middle is also from the Owl Punch.  His hat trims are also the Itty Bitty flowers, as is his pom pom.

I have some more fun projects to share with you from today.  But that's all from me tonight.

Remember to call back tomorrow to have a look at our fab new catalogue.  It's huge so sit down with your favourite tipple and browse to your hearts content.  x

Stampin Up Die Cuts to the Rescue!

What is she talking about??!!  Well it's CASual Friday's fault because this week they would like you to use your own blog header as your inspiration.  Well I've just recently changed my design to a really clean and simple look with just a blue blog title.  Mmmm so I've come back to snow.

I decided to have the word snow in blue with the letter o as a snowflake.  I've used Stampin' Up!'s Snow Flurry and Timeless Type Junior.  A basic Rhinestone decorated the middle and I spotted some Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle for added bling.  The panel is popped up on dimensionals.

It's not snowy or cold, stormy, even autumnal here today in fact it's positively warm!  Gorgeous long may it last!

Hi and welcome to Sue my recent follower, thanks for following.  Hope it's sunny with you. x

Stampin Up Everything Eleanor Freshly Done

Good morning craft peeps!  A Freshly Made Sketch for you today.

I wanted to move away from Autumn and Christmas, just for a little while.  I decided to use the new In Colours as our new catalogue is going to be with us before you know it.  (Monday if you didn't know it, hee hee)

So I had a play around with Everything Eleanor and settled on the smallest flower in the set.  I followed the sketch and punched out a flower in Whisper White using the Fancy Flower Punch.  Then attached the flowers that I had cut out.  For the middle I chose an Antique Brad which also has a flower shape on it.  Just love those brads!  Onto a panel of Midnight Muse I added strips of Be of Good Cheer Designer Paper.  I know, it's a christmas set of papers but I love those polka dots on Gumball Green.  For the background panel, I ran the whisper White through the Square Lattice Folder after stamping with my sentiment from Curly Cute.  This was attached to a Gumball Green mat and the card base is Midnight Muse.

A big welcome to Susan, Hi Susan!  Thanks for following my little blog.

I hope you all have a good day planned today,  I'm off to tackle the dreaded housework.  Take care and thanks for your visit.  x

Edit:  Thanks to Suze for pointing out that my card also fits in with Addicted to Stamps and more which has a theme of spring.

Stampin Up Punch Art - Santa's Boots

"When Santa got stuck up the chimney, he began to shout......"  sorry got this running through my head now.

The cue card over at CASology this week is shoes.

As I've been doing some Christmas projects lately, all that came to mind was Santa's boots coming down the chimney.  So with that image in my head I had a good look at my punches. For the boots I used the Curly Label Punch.  Cutting it up and re piecing together to get the boot shape.  I added a few highlights to his boots with a The trousers are Real Red Ovals with the ends chopped off but as you see so little of them, a scrap of red would do.  The Whisper White trim is from the little flower punch in Itty Bitty Shapes.  I made a fireplace out of Chocolate Chip and stamped it with the Woodgrain stamp.  I even added little squares to the top corners of the fireplace for a bit of dimension.  I added Crumb Cake to the back to finish it off.  The Real Red Oval at the bottom has Merry Christmas from Petite Pairs stamped in white on it.  A welcome mat for Santa or a cozy fire toasting his toes??!!  The sentiment at the side is from Tags Till Christmas.

We saw some sunshine this afternoon after our rainy, stormy weather.  How is it with you?

Thanks for taking the time to visit. x

Autumnal Lovely as a Tree

I'm bringing a little Autumn Stampin' Up! style with Lovely as a Tree.  This is so easy using your Stampin' Write Markers.  All I've done here is dotted the trees with some different autumnal colours.  I used my Blender Pen and ink pad to add colour to the grass.

I liked the idea of the row of trees going round the back.

The Just for You is from Tea Shoppe and fits the Word Window Punch perfectly.  A couple of tags of ribbon just to finish off.

Just a sweet little card.

Hope you've got a lovely day planned.  Take care. x

Stampin Up Paisley Petals Gift Boxes

Here's some little gift boxes that I made up for my Stampers 6 ladies.  This was the last month of their current Virtual Hostess club so I wanted to make something a little special.

I'm so pleased how these came out and they weren't hard to put together either using Stampin' Up!'s Scoring Tool.  Have a closer look.

I used Early Espresso card stock and Paisley Petals Designer Papers.  I started off by making the box.

I used the 1" Circle Punch and the Word Window Punch to create the apertures for my gifts to sit in.   The top cover was cut with the Labels Collection Framelits die.  I also used the framelits to make a small label for my sentiment from SIncere Salutations stamped in Early Espresso.  I attached a sentiment tag to the front with a Brad.  The tag on the front is from Tea Shoppe stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  Some Linen Thread looped through the box holds the flap in place.

I like putting a little gift into my ladies bags as a little surprise.  Is joining a Stampers 6 club something that would be of interest to you?  If it is then give me a call or e mail me to discuss further.

I thought I'd share a photo taken a couple of weeks ago when we had a little heat wave.  I was in shorts and a t shirt now its padded jackets!

This is Slains Castle just up the road from Aberdeen and only just discovered by us.  It was Bram Stokers inspiration for the castle of Count Dracula and sits right on the cliff edge.  We had a fab day here exploring and going to the beach at Cruden Bay.

Isn't this fabulous and it's right on our door step.  I did dip my toes, icy cold water of the North Sea.  Very refreshing.

Take Care. x

Very Vintage Music Notes Wheels

Oh dear. Dilemmas, dilemmas, dilemmas.  Less is More this week is challenging us to pick 3 challenges from all the previous ones.  So which ones to choose? Well I took a wrong turn with my card and have ended up with different ones to the originals I had chosen.

My card is

1. Week 2 - Flower
2. Week 81 - Tearing
3. Week 43 - Bit of Bling

It was going to be Week 6 off the edge but not sure that counts with a layer on a base card and week 83 Brown and Pink until I stuck a purple flower on it!! Lol.

I was challenging myself to do a bit of vintage which is not a genre I'm that comfortable with.  I like it when I see others just struggle to get there myself.

So onto how I made it -

The card base is Crumb Cake with a panel of Whisper White sponged with Soft Suede and one corner torn. I rollered my Music Notes Wheel (right way up I hope Chrissie!) in Soft Suede.  Then on a separate piece I rollered the Very Vintage wheel in Pink Pirouette.  Tore and sponged the edges.  Stamped Happy Birthday from Happiest Birthday Wishes using one of the new In Colours Markers -  Primrose Petals.

The large flower was one I demonstrated at a recent workshop, so easy to do.  Five Perfect Plum scallop circles spritzed with water and scrumpled up.  Great for the stress levels!!  Then attached all together with a gorgeous Rhinestone Brad.  You then re shape the flower by squoshing it in to the middle and tweaking till your happy.  Once it dries it goes hard and keeps it shape.  Did you like all the technical terms Hee Hee.

I attached it to my card with a couple of glue dots.  Corner rounded the top corner to echo the torn corner.

My daughter had a fun afternoon today standing in at the last minute with a theatre group.  The show is in two weeks!  However she loved it and they all looked after her really well.  It helped her big cousin was there as a helper.  So this gave me time alone with my big son which we spent down at Aberdeen beach.  A game of crazy golf, a ride on the rooftop roller coaster and a Mr Whippy 99 ice cream what more could a boy and his Mum wish for!

Hope you've had a super day and it was sunny with you too.  I look forward to returning your visit. x

Stampin Up French Foliage Wreath

Doesn't this large leaf from Stampin' Up!'s French Foliage make a fab wreath?  Want to know how I made it?  It was so easy.

I placed a circle of scrap in the middle of my Whisper White panel as a guide then just stamped Old Olive leaves around it, simples!  I stamped off first to give a softer green.  Then I stamped the French Foliage splodges in Rich Razzleberry around my leaf to imitate berries.  If you zoom in you should see clusters of tiny white berries aka Basic Pearls.  My sentiment is from Petite Pairs.  I needed a small sentiment to fit the middle.  I corner rounded the panel and matted it onto Old Olive then onto Rich Razzleberry.   As I was following the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, I added strips of Paisley Petals patterned paper below my panel.  (Yes ladies I'm using patterned paper again and how easy is this to use up scraps?!) I would have preferred to add another strip in the Bravo Burgundy as I do like a bit of symmetry but I ran out of card base and this card is already 6" by 6".  Never mind next time lay out your strips before attaching Lol!  My card base is the gorgeous River Rock textured card stock.

Do you think this wreath would work for christmas too?  Just swap the purple for red and add some glitter?  I think that would work perhaps with a cute little robin in the centre or a suitable sentiment.

Another lovely bright but crisp (turn your nose blue) day.  Love Autumn.  Thanks for visiting. x

Edit:  Ooops forgot to add the sketch.  Here it is.

More Triple Time with Stampin' Up! using Serene Snowflakes

You may recall I had some triple time fun a few posts back and here's another.  This time using Serene Snowflakes (another set on the retiral list sadly no longer available).  I've stamped the snowflakes in Lucky Limeade then matted the panels onto Poppy Parade. I made a little bauble and slipped it behind an acetate pocket.

Here's a close up.

I die cut a circle using the Circles 2 Die from the Red Glimmer Paper.  I stamped a snowflake in Poppy Parade and punched out with the 1 3/4" punch.  The punched out another circle in the glimmer paper with the 1" punch and lastly stamped a bauble from Delightful Decorations and punched out the middle with the 3/4" circle punch.  A small red Rhinestone Circle Fire Brad adds a little glimmer to the middle.  You can see I salvaged the top of the bauble to add to mine, then added some of the Lucky Limeade Organza Ribbon

Well that's all from me today.  Go try out some triple time yourself.  Take care. x

Baby it's cold outside with Stampin' Up!'s Snow Flurry

Christmas card using Stampin Up Snow Flurries Die

Well it's not really.  We've had some lovely sunshine this week but CASology are looking for white on their cue card.  So snow came to mind.

I recently purchased Stampin' Up!'s Snow Flurry die from the Autumn/Winter catalogue and thought it was about time I had a play with it.

My first card uses two of  the die cuts layered up with some sparkly Basic Rhinestones to add a little glimmer.  A strip of Whisper White embossed with Perfect Polka Dots sits behind it.  I added touches of blue to my card because I always love it when you get a crisp snowy day and it's so white you can see a hint of blue.  Merry Christmas from Stampin' Up!'s Petite Pairs is stamped in Bashful Blue and the mount is also Bashful Blue.

Here's a second card using the full snowflake all layered up.

Again I've given it a little bling with a large Basic Rhinestone in the middle and dots of Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle.  Also in the Autumn/Winter catalogue.  I'm loving this new catalogue, my wish list is huge from the suppliment alone!  The snowflake is attached to a panel of Bashful Blue then onto a second panel of Whisper White.

These were so quick and simple to run up.  Perfect for making a batch of Christmas cards.

If you would like to get in touch to discuss your wish list then please email me on ails300@btinternet.com.  There's lots of ways you can spread the cost.  One of them is to join Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator and earn the discount for yourself. Get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.  Alternatively another way is to join my Stampers 6 club starting in October.  Only 1 place left.  Have a look at my Virtual Hostess Page.

I'd like to extend a lovely warm welcome to Natali.  Thanks so much for deciding to follow my little blog.

Hope it's not snowing where you are but lovely and sunny instead!  Hee Hee x

Just for Fun

Birthday card using Stampin' Up!'s Fox and Friends, Borderlines and the Bird Builder Punch

I had a last play with the little monkey from Fox and Friends.  He's been a favourite of mine and so handy.  Unfortunately this set is now sold out so sorry if you didn't get your hands on this adorable set :(

I've started off with a Pacific Point card base and stamped the little monkey several times in the same coloured ink.   I made a panel of Whisper White with a mat of Real Red and stamped the Borderlines vine stamp in Daffodil Delight.  Then added some branches from the Bird Builder Punch on Chocolate Chip.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Pacific Point and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.

Thanks for coming in past today.  Hope you have the chance to have a play! x

Paisley Petals Starburst with a little French Foliage

Good afternoon crafty peeps.  I've a little challenge for you.  Some of my customers have admitted to being a little designer paper challenged.  So I'm showing a card today using the gorgeous Paisley Petals Designer Papers.  All Stampin' Up! papers are on the retiral list as new designs will come in with the new catalogue in October.  And this set is 40% off so thats 12 sheets down to £5.97!  So get your skates on if you fancy these designs as they are going going gone!

For my card today I've followed the sketch over at The Friday Mashup

The mashup is to follow the sketch or use the starburst technique (you can follow a link to a tutorial on the blog) or do both.

Honestly ladies this was so easy to do and with Stampin' Up! designer papers it's even easier because you know the patterns/colours are going to co-ordinate.  I followed the tutorial and matted my starburst panel onto Early Espresso after sponging the edge of each piece with the Early Espresso ink.  I stamped a leaf from French Foliage in Old Olive, stamping 3 times without reinking.  Then punched out with the 1 3/4" circle punch and attached to a mat of Early Espresso cut with the Circles 2 Die.  I added a bottom panel using the reverse of one of the papers from the range (they are all double sided).  Just for you is from Tea Shoppe and stamped in Tangerine Tango then punched out with the Word Window Punch.

So ladies fancy having a go?  Come on, we can cure your paper phobia! Hee hee see you next time. x

A last goodbye to Pocket Silhouettes

As you are probably aware Stampin' Up! have their sale on just now along with items that are retiring.  Although it's sad to see favourite sets go it's also exciting to know they are making room for lots more new sets.

Pocket Silhouettes is one of my Stampin' Up! favs so I don't think it will be disappearing off my shelf anytime soon.

For my card today I've had two challenges in mind, firstly Less is More is looking for an Oval this week and secondly CASology would like to see sky.

My immediate thought was a an oval aperture.  So I started with this, punching it out of Whisper White using my Extra Large Oval Punch.  Then I corner rounded my panel.  I had a little inky fun with my scene behind the oval.  I tore up some tissue paper and attached with repositional glue then sponged Bashful Blue and a touch of Not quite Navy before removing the tissue paper.  Hopefully this makes my sky look like it has some feathery clouds. I stamped my Pocket Silhouettes image in Night of Navy then added some Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle.  Have you spotted this in the Autumn/Winter catalogue?  It so easy to add glitter precisely where you want it.  My little scene was attached to a Bashful Blue card base. I wrapped linen thread around my aperture and added the panel with Dimensionals.  The little butterflies are Melon Mambo cut out with the Beautiful wings Embosslit Die.  A few Basic Rhinestones dresses them up.  The sentiment is from the same set and punched out with the word window punch and also attached with Dimensionals.

If you like this stamp set too then please get in touch because items are selling out fast.  Also I still have 2 places left for my Stampers 6 Virtual Hostess Club starting in October.  So drop me an e mail to join in the fun.

Thanks for popping in past today your visits are always appreciated. x

Ornament Keepsakes - My first play

This is my first play with the new fabby Ornament Keepsakes stamps and framelits bundle from Stampin' Up!'s Autumn/Winter catalogue.

For my card I've followed a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  This is their one year anniversary and you can choose any of the previous sketches.  Mine is sketch no. 36

Card base is Rich Razzleberry with mats of Elegant Eggplant.  I also stamped the ornaments in Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant.  The top ornament has been die cut with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits which match this stamp set and popped up on Dimensionals.  The strings were added using a Blender Pen.  I sponged the edges of the Whisper White panel before attaching to the mat.  The 3 squares were punched with square punches and stamped using another ornament from the set.  To finish off I added a little glitter to the front ornament.

Well I'm hoping thats our internet fixed and I can get round to visiting you all.  Thanks so much for leaving comments and coming in past, I really  appreciate it. x

Phew what a faff!

Dear Oh!  This has been a difficult post!  Our router died so no intersnetty for us.  So I'm sitting in our local Dobbies in Aberdeen with a cuppa writing this post.  Very civilised!  Perhaps this is how we all should do our blog posts!!

I really wanted to join into Less is More this week which is a one layer week with a theme of foliage.  This first card is actually the second one I thought of.  I've stamped the small leaf from Stampin' Up!'s Lovely as a Tree in Versamark then embossed with gold embossing powder.  Then I used a blender pen to pick colour direct from my ink pads - More Mustard and Cajun Craze.  Here's a photo to show the embossing.

The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and I used the Glossy cardstock.

So this is actually the first card I made and is also for the Less is More challenge.  This time I stamped a scattering of leaves and embossed in white embossing powder.  Then sponged on More Mustard, Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze.  The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations (one of the retiring stamp sets) and is stamped in Cajun Craze.  This card is also using the glossy cardstock.

Mmmm now I've finished my coffee do I go get a fancy cake???
