Relax with a cuppa!

My card today is all about relaxing.  I've combined two challenges -

Casology

and

I thought both these challenges work well together because the purples for Dynamic Duos are also relaxing.

My base card is Sahara Sand.  On top of that I've added a large mat of Wisteria Wonder which I scored a diagonal pattern with my Scoring Tool.  The next mat is Concord Crush and the last mat it Whisper White.  I stamped the large tea cup from Tea Shoppe in Concord Crush then cut out and attached with Dimensionals.  Thanks is from one of the sentiments and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder then punched out with the Modern Label punch and tucked behind the cup.  I then tied a bow round the handle using two pieces of  Linen Thread

Having a cuppa is a lovely way to relax, along with crafting, glass of wine, dancing, singing at the top of your voice.  Oooops letting away too many secrets Lol!

It's getting close to the end of the August promotion, Reason to Smile.  So if you would like to have this set or earn it for free then please get in touch soon.

Everything Eleanor Card Class

Brrrrr did we just suddenly time travel to winter?  Yesterday was so cold, windy and wet.

The card I have to share today was one we recently made at my card class.  We started with a Pretty in Pink base and stamped the gorgeous swirls from Everything Eleanor in the same colour ink.  We then stamped the label in Bashful Blue and then cut out.  How fab is that label?  Wouldn't it be great on scrapbooks too as a journalling label?  We added the sentiment from Curly Cute in Night of Navy.  It fits perfectly.  The flowers are first stamped in  Pretty in Pink then rolled in Certainly Celery.  The flowers were cut out and the large flower was popped up on a Dimensional.  Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added to the middle of the flowers.  We then had great fun decorating the middle with the same stamps but making the design one layer by masking.

Well I hope today isn't as blustery.  Have a good day.  x

French Foliage in Triple Time

I did say that I had some other ideas for Less is More this week.  Namely, French Foliage in 3 squares.   However the lovely Margaret has already made a stunning example of this idea.  So I've gone in a different direction.  I've lately seen the Triple Time Stamping technique and in particular Cindy's example made me want to have a go.

I wondered if I could make it CAS and fit into the 3 2 1 challenge at Less is More.  3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something.  Have I done it?  You can be my judge.  So I have 3 layers, 2 stamps and a spritz.

Here's how it's done.  I started with a Crumb Cake base, then stamped directly onto the 3 layers of Whisper White keeping them in place.  The smaller leaf is stamped in Old Olive with the second leaf stamped off on scrap first.  Then the larger leaf is stamped in Cajun Craze, cut out with my paper snips and popped up on Dimensionals.  The layers are matted onto Crumb Cake after giving it a spritz with an Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Marker.

I enjoyed trying this out so much I made another card but this time going to town.  Using all the purples and with a single contrast of Pear Pizzazz.  The central leaf is also cut out and popped up on Dimensionals.

One of the most common comments I receive from my Stampers 6 is how exciting it is to receive a bag of goodies every month.  And there is always a little surprise from me in their bags too.    With the new Autumn/Winter catalogue live in September and the brand new main catalogue in October, your wish list is bound to be large.  What better way to make this affordable than by spreading out the cost with the Stampers 6 club.  I have a few places left starting in October.
Would you like me to put your name down?  Send me an e mail ails300@btinternet.com or phone me on 07827923123

We have a very Autumnal day today, just right for staying cosy and crafting.  Thanks for your visit,  I appreciate it.  x

3 2 1 it's Delicate Doilies!

Ready Steady Go........ a quick post from me this morning.  The less is more challenge this week is 3.2.1.  That is 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something.  Certainly gets you thinking!

I chose Delicate Doilies as my main stamps.  3 of them and 3 colours (Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant).  My sentiment has two words and is from Happiest Birthday Wishes stamped in Melon Mambo and it's stamped on one banner.  Sorted!  Although more thoughts are going through my head so may get back with another entry.

Hope you have a great weekend.  I'm off to shovel bark in our street playground which is requiring some much needed repairs.

Just a reminder the end of the month is nearly with us and with that the Reason To Smile promotion will end.  Also I have two places left with my Stampers 6 starting in October when our very exciting new catalogue launches.  So get in touch if you would like to be part of my club.

Scraps in a Frame!

What is she speaking about?  I know, I know but my imagination for a post title has gone walk about. Almost as bad as naming a film Snakes on a Plane!  Anyway it is scraps in a frame.

Basically I decided to join in with The Friday Mashup this week which is to use the following colours Midnight Muse, Tempting Turquoise, SO Saffron and Soft Suede.  Or make a Thank you card or mash it up and do both.  I decided to do both and to use the inspiration photo.

Aren't these cushions gorgeous?

For my card I started with a So Saffron base.  Then made a panel of 1cm strips.  I used textured Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron cardstock, Midnight Muse cardstock (sneak peak of one of the new in colours, it's fab!) Soft Suede Patterned paper from Neutrals Stack and Beau Chateau Patterned Paper.  I attached this to the card base.  Then made a window frame from Tempting Turquoise card stock using the Labels Collection Framelit.  This was popped up on Dimensionals.  The little tag is also cut using the Framelits and trimmed to tuck under the main panel.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Midnight Muse on Very Vanilla.

Well it's friday night and first week back at school is behind us and we survived!  Thanks goodness it's the weekend though.  Hope you've had a good week.  Happy crafting. x

Broadsheet Happy

Hi crafty peeps!  I've been very happy today playing with my new Broadsheet Alphabet.  Also having a sneaky play with the new in colours for 2012 - 2014.  Don't they look so bright and happy together?

I stamped each letter then punched with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and mounted them onto a black panel.  I used my Scoring Board to add a couple of score lines underneath the panel.  Then lined up birthday, from For My Family, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig along the top.  I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to only ink up the word birthday.

I've followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

Nearly the end of the first week back at school.  Are all you Mum's enjoying the peace?  I seem busier than ever and 3pm comes round all too fast.  However todays busy was making cards so that's not too bad!  I was busy preparing for tonights card class and what a giggle it was.  Thanks ladies!  I'll show you the cards we made soon.

Welcome to Mary, thanks for choosing to follow my little piece of blogland.  Hope to see you often.

That's it for me tonight.  Last week of Summer mini so remember to place your orders soon. x

Brayering Some Scottish Hillsides

Hi I'm very excited to be here with you today.  A couple of weeks ago I was lucky to win at Casology (you can see my card here) and when you win you are invited to be a guest designer.  And yes you've guessed it this is my week.

and the cue card is green.

The inspiration for my card came from the scottish hillsides as we were driving back to Aberdeen from Perth.  They were so green in the sunshine.

I made the shape of the hills by tearing a post it note and placing on some Very Vanilla card.  I then used my Brayer to colour the hills in three colours - Certainly Celery in the background, Old Olive for the middle hill and Always Artichoke in the foreground.  Once the hills were brayered, I sponged some purples over the edges.  Elegant Eggplant on the front hill, Perfect Plum on the middle and Wisteria Wonder on the distant hill.  A hint towards some heather perhaps?  We saw lots of scottish pines on the hillsides so I've added a pine from Lovely as a Tree in Always Artichoke.  My brayered panel was matted onto another panel of Very Vanilla.  Then wrapped some of that gorgeous sparkly Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon around it and added a bow.  My card base is Certainly Celery stamped with the Woodgrain stamp in Always Artichoke.

Thanks for coming by for a visit today.  Looking forward to seeing your take on this weeks challenge. x

Misty Hills

My goodness how strange!  I have just made a card for a challenge which uses tearing paper to create hillsides.  And guess what the challenge this week at Less is More is.....Tearing!  So unfortunately I can't show you the card I made for the other challenge but if you come back tomorrow you will see it.

So with hillsides on my mind, I've created a misty scene using three Stampin' Up! inks - Wisteria Wonder in the background, Perfect Plum in the middle and Elegant Eggplant in the foreground.  Each of the colours was applied using my Brayer and then the edges sponged in that particular colour.  Up up and Away supplied the birds and they were stamped in Elegant Eggplant.  The panel was then mounted onto and Elegant Eggplant mat and attached to a Whisper White card base.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is also stamped in Elegant Eggplant.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for positioning.  Which is one of my must have tools!

I love those birds from Up Up and Away.  This is one of those stamp sets that you can use all together or the individual elements.  It's so versatile and has cute sentiments too.

122755 £25.95 Wood 122757 £20.95 Clear

You could earn this set for free as part of my Stampers 6 when it's your hostess.  Have a look at my Virtual hostess Page now as there are limited places left for the new club starting in October.
I'm very pleased with my end result and think this makes a great masculine card.

Thanks for your visit today.  I really appreciate it.  x

Scrapbook Sunday - New York Sky Line

Hi.  I shared a scrapbook page of my trip to new york a few days ago and finally I can show you the second of my double page layout.  I must be the slowest scrapbooker ever!!

Really it's a very simple layout.  Why did it take so long?  Again I've used Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scrappin' kit Country Club.  You can see the other page here.  All the elements are in the kit.  I've still to add some journalling to the little tag at the bottom.  I enjoyed reflecting the skyline down the side panel.

I named my post Scrapbook Sunday but I can't promise to post a scrapbook page every sunday because I'm so slow!  However I do intend to keep up my scrapbooking now I've started again so no doubt you'll see more pages now and again maybe even on a Sunday.

Thanks for coming in by and if you would like any help with your scrapbooking then please get in touch.  x

My Stampers 6 is a great way to build up your scrapping stash whilst spreading the cost and receiving some hostess freebies.  These can be chosen from anywhere in the current catalogues so perhaps you would pick some free papers, ribbons, buttons?  A huge choice.  You can e mail me on ais300@btinternet.com.  I'd be happy to help.

Mixed Bunch Birthday Card Class

The card I have to share with you is one we made at last weeks card class.  We used Mixed Bunch and the co-ordinating Blossom Punch

We started with a card base and front panel of Concord Crush and corner rounded the edges.  Then using the Blossom Punch we punch out a blossom shape from the front panel.  Then ran it through the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  A square of Pumpkin Pie Brights Designer Paper was attached to the card base so that it would show through the shape.  Using one of the smaller stamps from Mixed Bunch we stamped and punched out a centre in Pear Pizzazz.  The embossed panel and the flower centre are all popped up on Dimensionals.  A second flower was stamped and punched out in Pumpkin Pie.  The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes and is stamped in Pear Pizzazz and punched out with the Modern Label

I love the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the matching punch.  It's a great bundle to have and you can see how many times I've used it by looking at the Mixed Bunch label at the side.  I also can't enthuse enough about the Hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes.  It really is worth having a party to get this set for free.  Of course you don't need to have a party because any order of £150 entitles you to hostess pounds.  If you fancy having a party or virtual party then please get in touch.

You can also earn hostess pounds as part of my Stampers 6 Club.  Only a couple of places left so please get in touch quickly to reserve your place.

Animal Print at Less is More

"Grrrrrr" that's my tiger impersonation!!  Maybe I should stick to a Tigger impersonation and say "A Tiggerific Day!".  Why the animal noises?  Well this weeks challenge at Less is More is a one layer with fur or feathers.

I thought I'd make my own animal print background.  I used my super duper Scoring Tool to make a scored frame.  Then I masked off a rectangular portion and sponged Daffodil Delight, More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie.  I also deliberately dotted the sponge dauber as it leaves a good texture.  Now came the fun part.  How did I get my tiger stripes?  This is a trick I saw some time ago on blogland but sorry can't remember where, however it's easy to do.  I used the scrap rubber from one of my clear sets and cut it up into stripey irregular shapes then placed them on a rectangular Acrylic Block.  Inked them up with Basic Black and printed my stripey print onto the sponged background.  Viola!  some animal print.  I added a strip of Basic Black satin ribbon along the bottom as I really felt with all that animal fur you needed a bit of touchy feely to the card.  And as animal print is a bit glam 3 Basic Rhinestones add a bit of sparkle.

I stopped messing about with it at that point as the black ink had a habit of jumping up and biting my card leaving black smudges!  Grrrr for real!!

I'm also going to enter this at Casual Fridays which is looking for square cards.

Do get in touch if you would like to join my Stampers 6 starting in October when the new catalogue becomes available.  It's going to be great, bigger and better than before!  I've a few spaces left and it would be great to have you part of the club.

So it's TTFN from me.  Thanks again for your visit.

Oh but before I go a big thank you to the girls over at CASology.  My card was the winner for this week!  I'm so chuffed, it was a lovely surprise and I get to be guest designer next week!! So stayed tuned!

Get Well Bulrushes Stampin' Up! style

There's a new challenge site - CASology - which I've been meaning to join in with but have only got round to it today.

You are given a cue card to make a Clean and Simple card from.  I must admit to being stumped when I saw Pond!

However I kept coming back to Bulrushes and thought the Word Window Punch would be perfect for them.  I used Daffodil Delight to create the heads and sponged down one side to give a little dimension.   I always have a bag of strips so attached a couple of stalks in Old Olive.  I punched an oval out of the bottom section of my Whisper White panel using the Extra Large Oval Punch then corner rounded each of the corners.  I attached some Night of Navy to the base card to show through the oval. Stamped my sentiment from Sincere Salutations in Night of Navy then attached my panel to the Whisper White base card with Dimensionals.  The bulrushes were then added to the panel before adding a strip of Old Olive along the bottom.

Having been stumped I'm really pleased how it's turned out.

I'd like to say Hello to Barbara thank you for following me, I hope you pop by often.

Thanks for visiting me today. x

A Bird Builder Twinchie Card

Hi there, a quick post from me today.  I've been glued to the TV (whilst doing my ironing!) watching the Olympics.  My goodness didn't those boys do well in the Triathlon?  I was tired out watching them!

I've made a twinchie card today which was fun and quick to make.  I used my Bird Builder Punch.  First I sponged the branch in Wild Wasabi having made a mask in scrap paper first.  Then sponged in the background using my Sponge Daubers in Wild wasabi and Pumpkin Pie.   My bird was punched out of Pumpkin Pie and I sponged some ink around the bottom and the wing to give dimension.  His eye is Basic Black punched using the Owl Builder Punch.  I added some drops of Crystal Effects to the branch to act as berries.  I then matted my Whisper White square onto a Basic Black square and attached to a 5" by 5" card base.  The sentiment is stamped in Wild Wasabi and is from Petite Pairs.

Right best get back to the rest of the housework probably with one eye on the TV again!!  Thanks for joining me today.

New York Country Club

I have a scrapbook layout to share with you today.  It's was great fun to use my Simply Scrappin' kit Country Club which includes papers, card stock and sticker elements.

On this layout I used Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Sizzlit Dies for my title.  Everything else is from the kit.

This is how it looks with the photos added.  I've since added my journalling to the white space and popped the date into the little circle.  You'll also notice I added the other half of the circle to the top of our couple photo to give a little unusual framing.

My Husband took me to New York for my 40th many years ago (now heading towards another big number!!).  The photos have just been sitting waiting to be scrapped all this time.  So it was lovely to look at them again.  I now need to get cracking and scrap the rest.

Why don't you have a go at scrapping one of your favourite trips.  The Simply Scrappin' kits make it simply easy!  Join my Stampers 6 and you could be receiving a fresh kit of goodies each month and on your hostess month you can top up your stash with freebies.  Have a look at Virtual Hostess Page for more details.  Join Stampin' Up! and receive a discount on your purchases.  You can now join on line.  The Join the Coffee Morning Stampers Page explains more.

Thanks for coming in past.  Have a crafty week. x

Scored with Bordering on Romance

Happy Saturday Everyone.  It's a lovely day here today in the North East.  Hope you have some sunshine too.

A very simple card today following the challenge over at Less is More which is to use the colours Blue and Green.

I started with a Whisper White card base which I scored using my Diagonal Score Plate at one edge.  I masked the edge and stamped Bordering on Romance in Pear Pizzazz.  Then coloured directly from the ink pad with my Blender Pen.  The petals are Tempting Turquoise.  I jazzed it up a little with some small Basic Rhinestones.  The sentiment header is Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White with the sentiment stamped in Tempting Turquoise from the Petite Pairs stamp set.

Have a go at adding some texture with your Scoring Tool.  This could be one of the items on your wish list so why not join my Stampers 6 and you could earn it for free in your hostess month.  I'm currently looking for members for my new club starting in October.  Please send me an email on ails300@btinternet.com if you are interested.

Thats it for me today.  Thanks so much for coming in past.  I love to read all your comments and popping in past you too. x

A Bright Blossom Day

Hi Crafty Peeps.  I have another stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalogue which ends on the 31st August.  This time Bright Blossoms.

£14.95 Wood £11.95 Clear

Loads of combinations available with this stamp set.  I love the funky look of the flowers.  Very modern.

I've used Rich Razzleberry as my card base on this sweet little card.  The vase is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and the leaves in Lucky Limeade.  I managed to position the stamp on the ink pad so I could just ink up the parts I wanted.  It wasn't that tricky really!  I punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. The flower head is Rich Razzleberry cut out and popped up on a Dimensional.  The Wisteria Wonder 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch creates a lovely mat for my design.  I used my Piercing Tool and Mat Pack to pierce each of the scallops.  The ribbon is the gorgeous Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon that was available in last months promotion.  I just love the sparkle it has.  I hope you took advantage of the deal.  I can see me using this ribbon loads at Christmas time.

This is actually one of my thank yous to my Stampers 6 customers.  I'm currently taking names for a new Stampers 6 starting in October.  If you would like to receive a parcel of goodies each month then please get in touch.  You can check out the details on my Virtual Hostess Page.

Thats it for me today.  Hope you are having a good week.  Thanks for dropping in past.  x

Mixed Bunch for Christmas!

This is my first Christmas card for 2012.  I'm actually quite late in starting as it'll creep up on us so fast!

I've followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I was pleased to see the central shape as I love the Top Note Die.

Do you see my snowflake?  It's actually one of the Mixed Bunch Flowers stamped in Versamark and embossed in White Embossing Powder.  The smaller snowflake was made using the same stamp but by only inking up the centre using a Versamark Pen

Once embossed I then had fun getting inky.  I first of all used my Watercolour Pencils to add a little colour within the snowflakes and then used my Aqua Painter to pull the colour around.  I spritzed the background with my Spritzer Tool using Bashful Blue and Marina Mist Stampin' Write Markers.  Then I sponged around the edges and into the snowflakes with Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and Tempting Turquoise using Sponge Daubers

The side panel is Whisper White embossed with Perfect Polka Dots adding a flash of Real Red edged with the Scallop Edge Border Punch.

For my sentiment tag, I used a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker to ink up part of sentiment stamp from Welcome Christmas.  The 1 1/4" Square Punch made the flag tag on the end.

Mixed Bunch is in the Summer Mini Catalogue which finishes on the 31st August.  It also has a punch that matches it.  Not all items make it into the main catalogue so if you have seen some favourites, please get in touch.

And now I'm pleased to introduce our AUGUST PROMOTION.  I'm sure it will give you Reason to Smile!  An exclusive stamp set only available for this month.

The set can be purchased for £18.95 Wood or £14.95 Clear but best of all it can be yours for FREE when you spend £60.  So now's your chance to catch up on your favourites in the summer mini and net yourself a free stamp set into the bargain!  You can e mail me on ails300@btinternet.com I'd be happy to help you choose!
