A bit of sewing!

I thought I would show you a bit of sewing for a change.  I made a hair bobble or bracelet which I've modelled here.

The bobble was cut using the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die and the Flirtatious Fabric.  It was all sewed together attaching a hair band and a large button from the brights collection.

I'm going to try these flowers on head bands too.  I think they look fab and very girly in the pinks.

I also think these would be a big hit at craft fairs.

Fancy joining my Stampers 6?  I'm taking names for a new club starting in October.  This is a super way to be a hostess and spread your wish list over 6 months.  Check out my Virtual Hostess page for more details.  I'd love to hear from you and have you in my club!

Hope you've had a great weekend and enjoying the Olympics. x

Summer flowers in the Rain

By afternoon today the rain came and it was heavy.  Such a shame as this morning was glorious.

This gave me my theme for my card - Summer flowers in the Rain.  I've followed the sketch we have been given over at Less is More.

My card base is Certainly Celery and the trim is Peach Parfait punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch.  I used the Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack to pierce holes in the scallops.  I then dressed it up with the Calypso Coral Organdy Ribbon (free in the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon/Brad pack).  I hope you can see the shimmer in the ribbon.  It really adds a bit of sparkle.

Still time to place an order and receive this bundle if your order is £45 or more.

Onto my summery flowers.  I stamped Simply Soft (Hostess set) on Whisper White in Black Stazon then used my Watercolour Pencils to lay down some colour on the flowers and dots in the background.  This is the first time I've used the pencils and I was very impressed with them.  With the Aqua Painters, I spread the colour around, hopefully giving the flowers their watery feel.  It was a lot of fun and the pencils look great even if you don't use any water.  I was also pleased at how well Whisper White took the water.

I covered my flowers with a panel of acetate.  Adding a couple of small brads to the top corners and attaching the Peach Parfait trim along the bottom.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Certainly Celery and punched out with the Modern Label Punch

Did you like Simply Soft?  This is a hostess only set earned with an order of £150.  You can put in an individual order, host a party or join my Stampers 6 Club.  Have a look at the Virtual Hostess Page for more details.  A new club is starting in October and I have a space for you! My members always receive a little thank you from me in their parcels and when it's your hostess month you benefit from the exclusive hostess section.  Any questions give me a call 07827923123

Thanks for coming past for a visit.  It's appreciated x

Up Up and Away Birthday Balloons

Well I may have thought I was getting back to normal but with holiday washings and the kids off on hols, crafting time has been limited.

This is a card for my cousin's baby boy who will be one soon.  It doesn't seem that long ago i was telling you that I had some baby boy cards to make!

I've followed the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays which this week is to use the colours - Lime, Aqua and Navy.  Perfect for a little boy I thought.

The number one and letters are cut using Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Sizzlits.  The balloons are from Up Up and Away with the middle balloon popped up on Dimensionals.  I've drawn string using my Stampin' Write Marker to tether the balloons to the number 1.  The panel is matted onto Night of Navy before attaching to the Pool Party card base.

I must admit my thoughts are turning to Christmas.  Why you might ask when we've had a gorgeous sunny day today?  Well because as a Demonstrator I received my copy of the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue today.  It's full of gorgeous seasonal goodies.  You'll love it I'm sure.

It's one of the perks of being a Demo to receive your copies of the new catalogues early and you have the opportunity to pre order before anyone else.  It's very easy to sign up and as of the 1st August it can all be done on line.  Have a look at my side bar and click on the picture "Join the Coffee Morning Stampers" for more details.

Must get this posted so I can sit back and watch the Olympics opening ceremony.  Are you watching it too?

Getting back to normal....

.....well not really.  Are you guys sneaking your ironing into my mountain??  I'm sure it's getting bigger no matter how much I do!  But then I haven't caught up from the holidays yet.  Also we had a birthday this week.  My son is now officially a teenager and not just a practising one!

Don't worry this wasn't his birthday card lol!  This is my entry to Less is More which has a theme of sewing.  Ahhh run to the hills!!

Perhaps not as I'm really happy with the result.  At the moment I don't have a sewing machine, something I would like to rectify as I love the effect of sewing on cards.  Any recommendations for a machine suitable for cards and small fabric gifts/cushions etc?

Anyways my card is a Whisper White base.  Whisper White can feel a little thin to be a base but it works well if you add a mat of cardstock to the front and inside.  It's also nice to put some decoration into the middle of your cards, don't you think?

Can you guess where the petals for my flower are from?  They are the wings from the Bird Builder Punch.  Neat huh?

I've used Everyday Enchantment Papers.  We have a promotion on this month to receive a free ribbon/brad bundle when you spend £45.  The bundle matches these papers and if you missed out on them during Sale-A-Bration then you have the opportunity to buy them now.  Have a look at the flyer on my side bar and I'd be happy to help you out with your order.

I used the 1/2" circle to punch out a centre for my flower and added a small Basic Rhinestone.  The stem is Certainly Celery punched out again using the Bird Builder Punch.

For the sewing I've used my Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Marker to draw around the petals and stem.  I roughed up the edges of my panel with my Paper Snips before attaching it to a matt of Pear Pizzazz.  I added a flash of patterned paper to the top corner to bring out the pattern in the petals.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Pear Pizzazz.

It was nice to get back into crafting today and the Less is More challenge.  I've missed it!  I was starting to get twitchy fingers!!

I'll show you my son's card tomorrow.  Hope you are having a lovely weekend, my ironing board is nagging me to get back to it.  Can you iron and craft at the same time?  Perhaps not!!  Take Care. x

Punch Art Summer BBQ

First of all I would like to thank you for all your lovely comments whilst I've been on hols and I will try to get round you all over the next few days, to catch up with your lovely creations.

This is a card I made for my Hubby's birthday which we celebrated whilst we were away.  He loves to have a BBQ and is currently looking to replace our old one with a new red one.  Hopefully there will be some dry days this summer to try it out!

I followed the Punch Art BBQ design on Dawn's Blog which uses a variety of punches to create this fab BBQ.  The smoke is from Swirls Scribbles Sizzlit Die.

I made a little garden by adding some grass in Old Olive with the top snipped to look like grass then sponged a sky with Tempting Turquoise.  I added the Whisper White panel to a Tempting Turquoise mat and then attached it to a Crumb Cake card base.

Just for you is from Tea Shoppe and I hand wrote the rest using my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.

It's fun to use your punches in a different way.

We have a new super promotion on this month. Have a look

You can receive a ribbon and brad pack when you spend £45.  The ribbons and brads match the gorgeous Everyday Enchantment papers that were in the Sale-A-Bration Promotion.  If you didn't get the chance to pick up these papers at the time then no worries you can purchase them now whilst stocks last.

Thought I'd share a photo from our hols

Boa Vista Cape Verde

Hard to think we were there only a couple of days ago whilst I look outside at the rain.  Oh well back to the ironing mountain!

But before I go, a big Hi to my new followers Chris and Ruth.  Thanks very much for choosing to follow my little blog.  Hope to see you drop by often. x

Wedding Wheels with a cascade of hearts

As it's summer and we are well and truly into the Wedding season, I thought I'd share another wedding card that I've made recently.

This one uses Wedding Wheels.  My couple are stamped in Perfect Plum and are cycling along a row of flowers from Bordering on Romance.  Also stamped in Perfect Plum then coloured with a Pink Pirouette Stampin' Write Marker.  The little hearts cascading form her veil are Very Vanilla and Pink Pirouette.  They were punched using the Owl Builder Punch.  This panel is popped up on Dimensionals.  The Whisper White panel has been die cut with the Addorning Accents Edgelits.  I also embossed the bottom with the Embosslits Folders.  The little sentiment from Petite Pairs is stamped in Perfect Plum and punched out with the Full Heart.  The card base is Elegant Eggplant.

Thanks for taking the time to come over.  Your visits are always appreciated. x

Everything Eleanor Wedding Card

I can safely show you this Wedding Card as the wedding has now passed.

This is a 6" by 6" card in Whisper White with a Soft Suede mat.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment in Gold Embossing Powder.  The sentiment comes from Occasional Quotes a retired stamp set.  The Top Note Die creates a decorative panel in Very Vanilla and River Rock.  I stamped the wonderful flourish from Everything Eleanor in River Rock.  Then added a scattering of the smallest Basic Pearls.

The Soft Suede strip has the Baroque Border Wheel rolled across it and embossed in gold.  I then attached a couple of hearts punched out with the Full Heart Punch in Very Vanilla and River Rock.  I embossed the Very Vanilla heart with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  Then added two medium Basic Pearls.

Here's an example using Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and silver embossing powder.

I love how you can use the same design but change it up by using different colours.

Hope you are enjoying you holidays.  Thanks for taking the time to come by and visit. x

Beach Comber Anniversary

I was asked if I could make a card with a photo on it as an Anniversary card.  It was a surprise when the photo came through and it was a beach scene and not a couple picture.

As soon as I saw the photo I loved the pink of the sand so chose a Pink Pirouette base for the card.  I stamped Woodgrain onto Textured Sahara Sand in the same ink.  Then added some Linen Thread wrapped around one end.  The Heart is from I {heart} Hearts and is stamped in Perfect Plum.  I attached a Button from the neutrals pack, then trimmed the panel in Whisper White using the Top Note Die.  The sentiment is computer generated.

I'm pleased with my washed out beach comber look.  Thanks for taking the time to visit today.  See you next time. x

A stack of thanks

Hi Crafty Peeps!

My card today is one we made in my card class using Tea Shoppe.  It's always handy to have some thank you cards in your stash.

For this one I've started with a card blank of Pool Party.  We used the Chamomile Wheel to create a background pattern in Lucky Limeade.  Then punched a border with the Eyelet Border Punch.  A trim of Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral gives a colourful border.  Then added a flag tag in Island Indigo and attached a Whisper White panel stamped with the cups.  Punched out a little flower using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch and a Basic Pearl to the center.  I stamped the sentiment in Calypso Coral and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.

There's a new promotion for July.  If you spend £45 you will receive a ribbon and brad bundle which matches the everyday Enchantment Papers that were available during Sale- A-Bration.  Don't worry if you missed out on the papers because you can now purchase them whilst stocks last.  I love it when we can give you a freebie along with your purchases.

Hope you have time to share a cuppa today.  Happy crafting. x
