Me and You Tea for Two

Happy Friday Everyone!

Another hectic day planned but I'm taking 5 minutes out to share this card with you.  I've followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

This is my daughter's card to my husband for his birthday.  (Don't worry I think he'll be too busy to look on my blog).  Normally she would make the card herself but decided to take up knitting so was too busy concentrating on that.  I was given instructions as to what she wanted.  My husband likes his tea so we decided on Tea Shoppe.  She liked the large cup and I think it suits the sketch.  It is a bit flowery though so I put a label on punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch, then added a mat behind it.  The choice of colours were also an attempt at masculinity and the pumpkin Pie panel has been embossed with Perfect polka Dots Embossing Folder.  My daughter had suggested in our discussions that the the tea cup should have wings attached to it!  Thankfully she hasn't noticed there are no wings, that would have stretched the masculine feel to the limit!!

This was done with a constant stream of "oops Mum I've dropped a stitch!"  Here's the result of all that hard work knitting.  It's a square in case you're not sure and yes the needle is picking up a dropped stitch discovered after I cast off for her.............. Bless!

Pennant Birthday

Welcome to a Pennant Birthday.  Rather than doing the usual flags I've arranged my pennants from the Petite Pennant Builder Punch into a pattern.  The So Saffron pennants are popped up on Dimensionals.

The sentiment comes from Afterthoughts, a retired set.  I think you should always keep your sentiment stamps as you never know when you might need that particular phrase or font.  I used Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the sentiment seperately stamping the words.  I then added a trio of circles as a little embellishment.

I've used the colours from Colour Q this week.

The Primary School Choir and the Secondary School Awards Ceremony both went very well yesterday.  Only today and tomorrow left of school and it's off on hols.

Hope all is well with you

Paisley Petals Paper Pieced

Try saying that fast 5 times!!

So now you are all tongue twisted I'll tell you about my card.

I've stamped Paisley Petals in Always Artichoke then paper pieced it with River Rock patterned paper from the Neutrals Stack

I attached my Whisper White panel to River Rock and attached some 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon.  My sentiment comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped in Always Artichoke.  I popped this panel up on Dimensionals before attached to the River Rock card base.

I've chosen these colours to fit with Dynamic Duos which is to use River Rock and Always Artichoke.

I'd also like to pop this in to Less is More which has a theme of paper piecing this week.

It's busy busy busy today.  Off to see my daughter in her school choir then to see my son in his awards ceremony.

Thanks for coming past.  x

Pretty in Pink with Vintage Vogue

Hi everyone.  It's a lovely day here today.  So nice to see the sun and not the rain.

I'm saying it with flowers today.  Vintage Vogue to be exact.  I love this stamp set.   The flowers look so pretty cut out.

The theme over at CAS-ual Fridays is PINK.  So pink it is.  I've used Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink.  They really do go well together.

I've added a Basic Rhinestone to the centres of the flowers and the sentiment is punched out using the Modern Label Punch.

Still don't have any plants or turf in the back garden yet but the two patios are down and so it's taking shape.

See you next time. x

Up Up and Away Birthday Wishes

Happy Saturday Everyone.

Today's challenge at Less is More is Paper Piecing.  I always admire when I see this done on others cards but rarely do it on my own.

I've chosen to combine Delightful Dozen and Up Up and Away.  I've paper pieced the balloon with Pacific Point patterned paper from the stacks set.  The balloon is popped up on a Dimensional.  The basket was stamped in Sahara Sand and cut out then attached.  I stamped the sentiment in Sahara Sand directly on the panel then stamped again on another piece of Whisper White in Pacific Point and cut out.  This was then attached back into the sentiment.  The birds and clouds are stamped in Pacific Point.  For the clouds I paper pieced some Bashful Blue.  The panel was then attached to a Whisper White card base.

Have a happy afternoon.  Thanks for coming in by to visit me.  x

Another Bordering on Romance

Whilst I had Bordering on Romance on my desk I made another card.  This time using the smaller flowers to make a patterned panel.

I stamped them in Whisper White and coloured using my Subtles set of Stampin' Write Markers.  I found that the palest colours looked best as the Crumb Cake makes them a little darker anyway.  Then added Crystal Effects to some of the petals.  Not only does this add shine but texture too as the crystal effects stays raised.  I then added a trim of Bashful Blue punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch.  This was placed over a mat of Whisper White which had been embossed with the Manhattan Flower folder.  I stamped my sentiment from Petite Pairs in Whisper White and punched out using the 1" Circle Punch.  I added a mat of Bashful Blue punched out with the 1 1/4" Punch

As this also has shine I'm adding it into Less is More which has a something shiny theme.

Well our back garden has turned into a swimming pool!  And it's still raining.  Oh dear can't see the gardeners getting much done today.

Anyhoo I hope it's dry with you and look forward to popping round to see your creations.  Happy crafting. x

Bordering on Romance on Acetate

Oh my goodness I actually chose to use acetate!

I stamped Bordering on Romance in Black Stazon onto some acetate.  Then coloured the opposite side with my Stampin' Write Markers.  I attached a piece of Whisper White to the back and cut round the flowers.  They were then popped up on Dimensionals and some Basic Rhinestones added to the centres.  I stamped the line of flowers in Basic Black onto my Crumb Cake base.  The "thank you" is stamped in Basic Black from the Faith in Nature set.

Faith in Nature is one of the many lovely hostess sets.  You can purchase these sets with your hostess pounds when you hold a workshop, join my stampers 6 (new club starting in October - e mail to reserve a place) or place an order for £150. During June and July hostesses can receive even more with sales of £325.  You earn £80 in hostess pounds (normally you require sales of £500 to reach this!) and 50% off any item.  Have a look at the flyer on my side bar and get in touch to book a party.

As the acetate helps make this shiny and so do the rhinestones this is another entry for less is more.

I think I might even use acetate again, this was fun.  I really enjoyed colouring the back of the image.  I found that it was best to use the darker colours in the marker set as they showed up better.  I was using my Subtles Set.  Also if you don't want your colours to bleed wait until each colour is dry before adding another next to it.  As you can see from the centres of my flowers I didn't, but I quite like the effect anyway.

Speaking of flowers, our garden is coming along, we now have the start of a patio to go with the mud.  No flowers yet though!

Hope all is well with you and you've avoided all this rain.  Not just good weather for the ducks but also good weather for crafters!!

Love & Laughter Prom Dress

Happy Midweek to my fellow crafters!  We have sun today yipee.

Another reason to be happy my stampers 6 box arrived and after bundling up everyone's orders, I had a little play with Love & Laughter.  Did you recognise the dress from the set?

Here's the stamp set just to remind you -

125475 Wood £21.95  125477 Clear £17.95

The dress is made up of lots of words to do with weddings and makes a gorgeous wedding card as does the cake.  However I decided to see how it would look as a Prom Dress.

I stamped the dress in Melon Mambo onto Whisper White.  Then stamped again onto scrap paper and cut out the skirt part of the dress.  I used this as a template to cut out a Melon Mambo skirt in cardstock.  I added a frill of flowers along the bottom using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punches and an extra one at the waist with a Basic Rhinestone.  I used the Labels Collection Framelits to cut out a frame.  Then added this onto a Basic Black frame which had been embossed with the Square Lattice Folder.  I added some 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and made a little bow.  The main panel sits on Melon Mambo Designer Paper from the Stacks range and a mat of Basic Black.  I made a little tag for the sentiment from Petite Pairs stamped in Melon Mambo.

Oh to be slim enough for this dress!  In another life perhaps.

Hope the sun was shining for you today.  Thank you for dropping in by.  I always appreciate your visits. x

I'd like to enter this into Dynamic Duos which is to use Melon Mambo and Basic Black with a dessert option of ribbon.

Brownie Backpacks

Good morning crafty peeps!  Only 2 weeks to the holidays!!

So on that note all the children's activities are winding down and this means it's time to give little gifts.  I made these little backpacks with the help of  my daughter for her Brownie Leaders.  She chose the colours so of course they had to be brown and yellow.

To make the backpacks I followed the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.  It was very easy to follow.

The base was rollered with Baroque Border Wheel and Holly had great fun doing this.  The straps of the backpack are 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon in Chocolate Chip.  In the front pocket Holly made a little card and in the main part we popped in a few little gifts.  After taking the photo we added a "brownie" badge with the leaders monogram to the top flap so she knew which one was which.

Why not have a go at this fun project?  These little backpacks would be great for any occasion and can be decorated in lots of styles.  You could use stamps instead of the wheels or decorate with patterned paper.  Remember the Paper Party is still on so you could use your free pack of papers.  I would be happy to give any help if required.

Right must crack on.  Thanks for stopping in by.  Your visits are always appreciated.  Have fun. x

Blossoms in the Garden

Gardens are on the brain just now.  We are in the middle of having our back garden landscaped.  It's a muddy mess at the moment as the digger has been in to level off our varying slopes.  I'm really excited though to see the finished result.

So onto my card.  I've followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I've also used my catalogue for ideas.  On page 97 there are examples of cards using Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper.  The papers are so vibrant, with gorgeous designs, they stand so well on their own.  Like the examples, I've also used Crumb Cake as my base.  I matted a strip of the patterned paper onto Pacific Point.  I love that I can quickly check my ideas catalogue to see the colours that go with my papers.  I punched out a Whisper White blossom using the Blossom Punch.  Then stamped one of the Mixed Bunch In Melon Mambo and punched that out too.  Curled and pinched the petals then added a large Basic Pearl to the centre.  For my sentiment I've mounted it onto a Decorative Label of Pacific Point.  I stamped my sentiment from Petite Pairs in Melon Mambo and punched out using the Large Oval.  A couple of pearls either side finishes it off.

The Paper Party is well under way.  Why not join in?  Remember during this month you can earn a pack of papers for free when you purchase 3.  Check out the flyer on my side bar.

Shiny Shiny Wishes!

Less is More this week is asking for something shiny.  Perhaps we could all influence the sun to shine again?

We had the primary school sports day yesterday and it was so cold.  Such a shame for the kids.  They had a super Olympic theme.  They were all split into countries and paraded on waving their countries flags.  Our picnic ended up in the school as the heavens opened.  Brrrr had to put our heating back on in the evening as was still chilled.

For my card I've used a Very Vanilla base.  Stamped the flourish from Everything Eleanor in Baja Breeze.  I punched out a flower of Real Red Glitter Card using the Blossom Punch.  Then punched out a heart of Very Vanilla.  I sponged Frost White Shimmer Paint over it.  I inked up the Faith in Nature flower in versamark then stamped in Poppy Parade.  I then covered it all in Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.  I added a Basic Rhinestone to the centre of the flower to finish off.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to capture the all the shimmer and sparkle on my photo.

Thanks for calling in past.  I'm looking forward to having a look at all the sparkly entries this week.  See you tomorrow for another card using the Blossom Punch. x

A Tea Shoppe Pennant

I'm catching up on some challenges this week and this card is for Simply Stampin' which is regally royal.

This is one of the cards we made at card class this week.  With the end of term fast approaching and lots of activities ending, it's always handy to have some thank you cards.

Tea Shoppe is a fab new set in the Summer Mini and has this lovely sentiment - A cup of Thanks.  I'm still a bit in Jubilee mood so decided on a red white and blue colour scheme along with pennants.  It's very British to have a cup of tea so decided on the little cups as the decoration for the flags.  I'm hoping this is regally royal enough to fit into the challenge.

So onto how I made my card.  The card base is Pacific Point with a Whisper White mat.  I sponged a cloudy sky using a Scallop Circle Punch of scrap card and Tempting Turquoise.  I then punched Real Red pennants using the Pennant Builder Punch.  The tea cups were stamped in Real Red and Pacific Point.  Then punched out using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  I added a Basic Rhinestone to the centre cup.  The little birds are from Up Up and Away and are stamped in Pacific Point.  I masked off one bird from the second grouping.

Good oh it's friday.  Hope you have a lovely weekend planned.  Just as well for us the weather is a bit grim, our back garden is a no go area.  We are having it landscaped and they just started yesterday with the digger.  I'm looking forward to it morphing into a beautiful butterfly in approx two weeks time!

Have a fun crafty weekend. x

Bordering on Romance Birthday Wishes

My goodness it's thursday!  Another week has flown by.

So onto todays card.  I've followed the challenge at Dynamic Duos which is to use Regal Rose and Basic Grey.

I've started with a Whisper White card base.  Added a mat of textured Basic Grey.  This is lovely card stock and comes in 12" by 12" perfect for scrapbooking too.

I stamped the flower from Bordering on Romance in Whisper White and matted onto Regal Rose.  I decided not to colour the flowers as they look fab this way too.

I attached some Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon.  This ribbon is so versatile.  It takes ink really easily so can be colour matched to suit your project and is only £5.25 for 13.7 m.

A Whisper White banner adds my sentiment in Regal Rose.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set Occasional Quotes

Let me know if you would like to order any of these supplies and don't forget the promotion that is running this month.  Order 3 packs of paper and receive 1 free.

Hope your week is going well.  My daughter took part in an inter schools fun run yesterday.  They had to run 1600metres.  It's the first time she's taken part and she came 4th beating her personal best time from the training sessions.  I'm so proud and they all did so well.

Take care and happy crafting. x

Get Well Soon Flourish

Hello crafty peeps!  Thanks for stopping in past today.  Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

I've made a Get Well card today and used the recipe from Less is More which is a one layer this week with a flourish.

I've started with a Very Vanilla card base and made a template of squares.  I then stamped the flourish from Everything Eleanor in Basic Grey.  Sponged round the edges of the squares in Old Olive using my Sponge Dauber.  My little flowers are punched using Itty Bitty Shapes and are Melon Mambo card stock.  They each have a little Basic Pearl in the centre.  I added a butterfly from the SAB set Elementary Elegance in Melon Mambo.  I didn't want the butterflies and flowers competing for attention so stamped off the butterflies on scrap first.  The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen and stamped in Melon Mambo.

That's it for me today.  Off out to do some much needed weeding!  Take care. x

Sail Away Father's Day

Another Father's Day card from my last card class.  This time using Sail Away.

I started with a card base of Bashful Blue.  Then ran some Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White through the Top Note Die.  With the Whisper White layer this was stamped with Woodgrain in Early Espresso.  For the main layer I stamped Sail Away in Early Espresso.  I then brayered the sky in Bashful Blue and the sea in Marina Mist.  Adding some clouds by using torn paper and sponging.  I stamped the boat again on Whisper White and cut out the sails to paper piece onto the original.  I stamped a third time in Cherry Cobbler and did the same.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  Then punched out using the Word Window Punch and mounted onto a Modern Label in Marina Mist.  I added brads to the sentiment and the top corner of the main panel.

A big Hi to Lynda, appreciate you following me!

Thanks for coming in by.  It's always lovely to see you here.  Take care. x

Hanging Around

There's been a few challenges lately that I've been wanting to join in with, but life has been getting in the way!  So today I took time out to sit down and join in with this weeks ColourQ

I've started with a Tempting Turquoise card base then added a mount of Whisper White.  A panel of Tempting Turquoise was corner rounded on opposite corners and Birthday from Happiest Birthday Wishes was repeatedly stamped in Tempting Turquoise.  My main panel was mounted onto Real Red.  I stamped the swirl from Everything Eleanor in Lucky Limeade in the top corner.  My little monkey from Fox and Friends was stamped in Island Indigo.  I punched a heart from Real Red card stock using the Small Heart Punch.  I popped it up on a Dimensional and added a Basic Rhinestone.

Back to normality today.  The children are back to school but it's the calm before the storm.  Lots of end of year activities.

Thanks for joining me today.  Your visits are always appreciated. x

Father's Day Owl

A Father's Day card to share.  This is one we made at my card class.

I've stamped the sentiment from Delightful Dozen in Bashful Blue onto a Whisper White panel.  I repeatedly stamped the pine from Lovely as a Tree to create a branch.  Then I made my little Daddy owl.  He's punched in Bashful Blue using the Owl Builder Punch.  His wings were made using the 1 3/4" scallop circle.  His vest is from the Neutrals Paper Designer Stack as is his rolled up newspaper.  His glasses were hand made except for the circles behind his eyes which were created using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch - circle.  The panel is mounted onto Chocolate Chip card stock and the card base is Certainly Celery.

I think we'll leave Daddy owl there so he has peace to read his newspaper!

Just finished watching the Jubilee Concert on the telly.  Didn't they put on a good show?  Now it's beddy bo boos.  x

Jubilee, Shares and Offers

It's a Jubilee kind of day.  So a second card for Less is more which for this week is Red, White and Blue.

My inspiration for the card came from seeing a wonderful display in a florists window.  She was hanging bird cages in the shop window shaped like crowns.  Then filling them up with little pot plants.  I love seeing all the fab decorations in the shops and some of the unique interpretations of the Jubilee theme.

I've used Aviary for my bird cages stamped in Pacific Point.  Look at the little blue bird in the corner.  He's wondering why he's been chucked out his home for flowers to go inside instead!  The flowers are actually from the little flower in Up Up and Away.  I used my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker to just colour the flower and miss out the Miss You sentiment.  Markers are great for doing this and with Stampin' Up!s colour families you know the marker will match the card stock.  I used my ruler and the pen nib end to draw the line for the cages.  I added a Basic Rhinestone to each cage for a little bling.  I then inked up, again using a marker, my sentiment.  This is from a retired hostess set - Afterthoughts.  Using the pen this meant I could just ink up "It's a" and then put "Celebration" in the middle of the card.  Do you see the dots underneath?  Bit of a cover up of an ink smudge but I think I got away with it!

I'm also going to enter my card in at CAS-ual Fridays which for this week is to add a bit of bling.

Now I promised yesterday to put up the flyers from the wonderful promotions we have on just now.  So here they are in a little more detail.

Red White and Blue

Less is More is asking us to use Red White and Blue!  Very appropriate for the Jubilee weekend.

I've used a Whisper White card base and added a frill strip by using the Eyelet Border Punch.  The papers are from the Brights Designer Paper Stacks.  I added a thin strip of Real Red card stock.

I stamped Celebrate from Outlined Occasions (A Sale-A-Bration set) and filled in the word Celebrate with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.  I do hope you took advantage of Sale-A-Bration when it was here.  Stampin' Up!  do lots of promotions throughout the year.  I've got a new one to let you know about so keep reading!

Back to my card, I placed the banner across the card and popped it up on Dimensionals. Then added 3 Basic Rhinestones for a touch of bling.

This photo shows the  decoration carried into the middle.  I stamped It's Your Day in the middle.

So hold onto your hats, here's the new promotion.  But wait it's not one promotion but two!! How cool is that?

Firstly you are invited to join the Paper Party.  Buy 3 paper packs and get a 4th for free!  We all love freebies don't we?

Also book a  workshop during June and July and if your party reaches £325 in sales, you'll receive £80 to spend anywhere in the catalogue including being able to choose an item at 50% off.  That's an additional £30 to spend.  Wow.

What a change in the temp from last weekend.  Sitting here with my cardy on.

Must dash as off out tonight and not got my face on!!!  So will pop up the flyers for the promotions on my side bar tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping in past and I hope you have loads of fun things planned for the weekend. x

Edit:  I'm also going to enter this into CAS-ual Fridays which for this week is to add a bit of bling.
