A Tea Shoppe cuppa

Fancy a cuppa?  As of tomorrow you could have this set winging it's way to you.  Tea Shoppe is another of the new stamp sets in the Summer Mini available from 1st May until 31st August.

For my design I've followed the sketch at ISpy sketches.

Here's how I made the card.  I started with my colour coach and chose a colour palette of Marina Mist, Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze.

The card base is Marina Mist with Crumb Cake mats.  I punched an Eyelet border down one side of the Crumb Cake and the Whisper White strip. Then stamped a pattern with the little flower in Marina Mist.  The top panel has the little flower stamped again but this time in Crumb Cake.

Isn't the little sign adorable?  I stamped it in Cajun Craze and punched out with the Large Oval Punch.  Then matted it onto a Marina Mist Scallop Oval

The main panel is Whisper White stamped with the little cups in Cajun Craze.  I stamped some of the cups off first.  Then I stamped the large cup in Marina Mist and cut out.  It was attached with Dimensionals.  My fun sentiment is stamped in Cajun Craze and punched out with the Curly Label Punch.  I punched out the label twice more in Marina Mist to create a mat.  Then attached this tucking it slightly into the cup.

Hope you've had a good day today and remember to call back tomorrow to check out the new mini.

Happy crafting. x

Up Up and Away in the frame

Woohoo we have sunshine today.  Let's enjoy it!  So without any more chat let's get a look at my card for today.

The Less is More challenge this week is to follow a sketch either using a square or a circle.  I've chosen the square -

My design came from the inspriration of another blogger - Susan.  She does amazing work, you can see her card here

I've started with a 5" x 5" square card.  I've started with a Night of Navy mat base.  Added some Whisper White onto it and stamped clouds and birds from Up Up and Away in Night of Navy.  Then added a frame of Bashful Blue with the middle punched out using the 1 3/8" Square Punch.  The Whisper White frame was punched out with the 1 1/4" Square Punch and scored with lines using my new fabby Scoring Tool.  This was attached using Dimensionals.

I inked up my balloon using Rose Red Stampin' Write Marker and stamped on Whisper White.  Then coloured the middle stripe with Wild Wasabi.  I also used this colour for the basket.  Then cut out using my trusty Paper Snips and attached to the frame with a dimensional.  The sentiment was also inked up with the Rose Red Stampin' Write Marker.

I'm really pleased with how this has turned out and I'm loving this new stamp set from the new Summer Mini avaliable from 1st May.  The new scoring tool is also in this catalogue.  Remember to check them out and the other new fabby products!

Card - Whisper White, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue
Ink - Night of Navy
Stamp - Up Up and Away
Punch - 1 3/8" Square Punch, 1 1/4" Square Punch
Stampin' Write Markers - Rose Red, Wild Wasabi

Up up and Away Graduation

Aw I'm sad today.   It's the last week of my guest spot at The Friday Mashup.  It's been great fun though, lovely fab challenges and a great bunch of ladies on the team.  Thanks for giving me such a warm welcome.

Here's this weeks challenge -

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project for "Graduation".
  2. Or Make a project using " Text or Definition Stamps and/or Paper".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a " Graduation project with Text or Definition stamps/papers".

For my card I've given you sneak peak into the new Summer Mini Catalogue available from 1st May.  I've used Up up and Away, a fab hot air balloon set with some cool sentiments.  A definite must!

First of all I sponged a panel of Whisper White to make cloud shapes with Marina Mist.  I then stamped Happy Graduation from Teeny Tiny Wishes all over the panel, also in Marina Mist.  I attached this to a mat of Marina Mist.

I stamped the little basket and trailing flags in Basic Black.  Then on another piece of Whisper White, I again stamped an area with Happy Graduation. Over this I stamped one of the hot air balloons in Basic Black and cut out.  Then attached with a Dimensional.

The background panel is a Basic Black mat with Designer Paper from the Neutrals Stack.  I added Basic Black 5/8" Satin Ribbon over the join of the two papers. Then attached the hot air balloon panel over the top.  The sentiment from Up up and Away is stamped in Basic Black and punched out with the 1" Circle Punch.  It's attached to a mat of Marina Mist punched out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  It's popped up on a Dimensional.

The card base is Bashful Blue.  Hope you join in this week and have fun crafting.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend. x

Pink, Girlie and Bling

My card today is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I thought I'd use some bright colours and give you another sneak peak from the new catalogue.  This time using one of the stamps from Mixed Bunch.  I stamped it twice in Melon Mambo and punched it out using the co-ordinating Blossom Punch.  Another newbie from the mini catalogue.  I layered them up and curled the top layers petals.  I used another one of the stamps from the set and punched out a centre piece using the 1/2" Circle Punch

For the background panel I stamped a pattern in Basic Black onto Melon Mambo and then matted it onto Basic Black.

I added a sentiment from Sincere Salutations in Melon Mambo and finished the card off with some Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for coming in past.  A big Hi to Rachel, thanks for choosing to follow me.  x

In with the new, out with the old.

Oh boy it's certainly weather for the ducks and the penguins.  It's rain, rain, rain and freezing to boot!

To explain my post title, my card uses a set that is sadly leaving us at the end of the month but also uses some new products from the new mini starting in May.

I was having a play getting inky last night.   I played around with several neutrals - Sahara Sand, River Rock, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede - and Baja Breeze.  I stamped Fruit and Flowers in Pacific Point with a few flowers in the background in Baja Breeze stamped off first.  Little pearls from the Basic Pearls set were added to the flowers.

I added Happy Birthday from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Soft Suede then mounted it onto a panel of Pacific Point.

For my card base I used Crumb Cake.  Did you notice the fancy edge to my card?  It's cut with an Edgelit Die from the new catalogue and it's also embossed with a matching  Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I attached a strip of Pacific Point to the inside of the card which shows nicely against the fancy edge.

So it's the last few days of the Spring mini catalogue.  I'd hate you to miss out on any products you'd been eyeing up.

Thanks for coming past and visiting.  Hope it's dry where you are. x

Thanks so much

A little thank you card today using Aviary and Tiny Tags.

I stamped the bird cage in Old Olive and used the Stampin' Write Old Olive Marker to draw the line for it to hang from.

Under the cage I stamped some sprays from Tiny Tags in Perfect Plum.  I also stamped the little bird in Perfect plum and again on another piece of Whisper White then punched out using the 1/2" circle punched.  He was attached with a Dimensional.  I stamped the little heart in Rose Red and cut out then added a small Basic Pearl to the centre.

The sentiment is also from Tiny Tags and is stamped in Rose Red.

Wishing you all a good day today.  Thanks for visiting me. x

Mines a 99!

My favourite ice cream is a Mr Whippy 99.  Mmmmm yum!  Not a day for one today though, lots of rain and a bit too chilly.

My card today features an ice cream with a triple scoop.  The cone is from Pennant Parade stamped in Soft Suede, punched out with the Petite Pennant Builder Punch.  The scoops are from the Create a Cupcake Builder Punch in Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede.

I embossed a panel of Very Vanilla in the Square Lattice Folder and matted onto Soft Suede.  I added a strip of Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper behind it also matted onto Soft Suede.

And a little sneak peak from the new mini out at the beginning of May.  Can't say much more but look at the fancy mat I've created for my sentiment.  The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations and is stamped in Soft Suede.

The card base is Marina Mist.

The colours are from the Simply Stampin' Challenge.

I hope it's drier with you.  Happy crafting. x

CAS-ual Perfect Postage

A little reminder of the Perfect Postage set which is only available until the end of the month.

There are for 4 stamps in this set and for this card I've used the brambles, the only one I haven't used so far.

I inked them up using my Stampin' Write Markers, Pear Pizzazz and Concord Crush.  I stamped it twice.  Once onto a square of Whisper White and the other was punched out using the Postage Punch.  Have I said before how much I love this punch?  The perforated edges just tickle me.

I mounted the square onto a square of Concord Crush then added the second postage stamp on a couple of Dimensionals

The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes inked using the Concord Crush marker.  Card base is Whisper White.

I've followed the sketch over at CASual Fridays -

Hope you have had a great weekend.  A big welcome to Aud thanks for choosing to follow me.  Hope to see you often. x

A little charmed

Welcome back.

Thanks for popping along today.  We still have wet weather so great for doing a bit of crafting.

This morning I had a quick look at Less is more and thought Oh my!  What put me in a tizz?  Well this week we are being asked to use a charm.  Now Stampin' Up! do a lovely range of charms in the Spring Mini Catalogue (only available until the end of April).  They have keys and crowns, super for lots of projects.  So what's the problem?  I don't have any!!

However not to be out done I've made my own charm.  Tiny Tags has a super set of little stamps and I really love this little heart.  I embossed it in Silver Embossing Powder and cut it out.  Then cut out another two hearts in plain card, sponged the edges with Basic Grey and sandwiched together with the embossed heart.  I used my Piercing Tool to  make a hole through the layers.

I had some wooden hearts already stamped in Rich Razzleberry from the I {heart} hearts stamp set.  So I cut them out and attached them to a Whisper White panel.  I attached some 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon.  Then attached my little heart charm with some Linen Thread which I had sponged with Basic Grey.

The little sentiment is also from Tiny Tags.

The main panel is corner rounded and attached to the Rich Razzleberry base with Dimensionals

Hope you are having lovely weekend whatever your weather.  x

Ghostly Paisley Petals

My goodness, it's friday again!  And I'm back with another card as Guest Designer at The Friday Mashup.

Here's the challenge for this week -

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using the " Sketch ".
  2. Or Make a project using the " Ghosting (aka VersaMark Resist) Technique".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project using the " Sketch & the Ghosting Technique".

For my card, I loved the white space on the tag in the sketch so decided to leave my tag white.  I mounted it onto Concord Crush, same as the card base.  Added a strip of Lucky Limeade punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. The ribbon is a little Old Olive knotted.  Just For You is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped in white onto Concord Crush punched out with the Modern Label Punch

My big flower is from Paisley Petals.  I stamped it in Versamark onto some Glossy Paper.  Then sponged Concord Crush into the middle adding Lucky Limeade to the outside edges.   I fussy cut it out and added a brad from Antique Brads and attached it with a Dimensional slightly rounding in the petals.  The sponging gives the whole effect a soft look.

To make the background panel, I again used Glossy Paper and stamped another image from Paisley Petals in Versamark.  This time I used a Brayer to apply Lucky Limeade ink all over it.  You can see the difference when using this method.  The images and ink are
much more vibrant. This was then matted onto a Whisper White layer.

I hope you decide to join in this week and have a go at the ghosting technique.  It's great fun to see the images magically appear!

Supplies Used

Create a Cupcake at Freshly Made Sketches

Mmmm fancy a cupcake?  I do!

Cupcakes don't seem to be going out of fashion and this is a super set for creating them.  Don't let it slip through your fingers though as it's only around until the end of the month!

Create a Cupcake is a stamp set with 12 stamps and don't think it's just for cupcakes.  Check out some of my earlier posts for examples.  Another thing, there's a Cupcake Builder Punch to go with it.  Being able to stamp and punch makes life so easy, don't you think?

I've used a Baja Breeze card base.  I created a background on Whisper White using the sprinkles stamp.   I stamped it in Rose Red but stamped off first.  I like the speckled effect.  This was matted onto Elegant Eggplant.

I punched a scallop circle using 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  (Another item from the Spring Mini Catalogue)  I pierced each scallop with my Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack.  I then punched a circle of Baja Breeze using 1 3/4" Circle Punch.

My cupcake base is stamped in Elegant Eggplant.  I punched it out using the Cupcake Builder Punch and also the frosting in Whisper White, then stamped the little heart in Rose Red.

The bottom panel has a strip of Rose Red Satin Ribbon with the sentiment stamped in Rose Red and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  This was attached with a couple of Dimensionals.

I've followed the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches -

but flipped it.

Hope you've had a great day.  Off to have a cuppa!  Thanks for coming past. x

Motorbike 4 You and I Spy Sketches

Good morning!  I have a masculine card to share today.

This one uses the Motorcycle stamped in Island Indigo and sponged around the edges with Pool Party.  It's mounted onto Island Indigo.  I've attached a tag with 4 You from Tiny Tags, punched out with the Jewellery Tag Punch but I snipped off the rounded top.

The top paper in the background is from Paisley Petals and the bottom paper is out of the Neutrals Stack.  These were mounted onto Island Indigo with a strip of the same running over the join.  I stamped Happy Birthday from For My Family in Island Indigo onto the patterned paper.   The card base is Pool Party.

I've followed the sketch over at I Spy Sketches

I'm also going to pop this into Make My Monday which is Male Sports or Hobbies.  (My Hubbies hobby is Motorbikes)

Well a quiet day today as the children are back to school.  So it's housework time!  Thanks for popping in by. x

Medallion Sun Burst

A bright sunny card today.  I'm trying to tell the weather that we don't need snow in April!!  We had snow flurries yesterday amid periods of sunshine.  It was Brrrrrr!

This card follows the sketch over at Simply Stampin' -

I've used Daffodil Delight as my card base with a mat of Basic Black.  I stamped the Medallion on Whisper White in More Mustard and cut it into three, then attached to the black mat.  I used the Circles Die to cut a Basic Black mat.  Then inked up my Medallion Stamp again this time with Daffodil Delight and placed a piece of  Whisper White directly onto the stamp and rubbed.  I then punched out the centre piece with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.  I added a yellow Rhinestone Brad to the middle and attached to the black circle before attaching the the main panel.

My border strip is basic Black with a frill of Daffodil Delight punched with the Scallop Trim Punch and attached along the bottom.  The sentiment is from For my Family.  I've been using this one a lot lately, just for the simplicity of the font and it fits great into the punches.  I stamped it in More Mustard and punched out with Modern Label Punch

Last couple of weeks of the Spring Mini Catalogue.  Be sure to place your orders before these sets disappear!

Hope you've been getting some warmer weather where you are.  Thanks for coming in past, I appreciate you taking the time.

Triple Treat Opposites

Over at CAS-ual Fridays this week the challenge is to use colours at the opposite ends of the colour wheel.

CFC48: Opposites attract- choose 2 opposite colors from the color wheel to design your Clean And Simple creation.  Opposite colors are determined by where the points meet.  Examples: green and red, or orange and aqua, or purple and yellow, etc.

The colours I went with were Purple and Green.  My card base is Concord Crush with a mat of Pear Pizzazz.  I corner rounded each of the corners.

The Triple Treat Flower was stamped twice with Pear Pizzazz and once in Concord Crush.  This is a super little stamp which you can use so many different ways.  I chose to layer up mine using Dimensionals and added a brad to the middle.

I added some Little Leaves Sizzlits in Concord Crush.  My sentiment is from Curly Cute and I made a ribbon banner for it.

Hope you've had a lovely weekend.  See you next time. x

Zentangled Little Leaves

Two cards to show this morning, both for Less is more.  It is Saturday after all!

This week is a one layer challenge and we have to include doodling.  I've tried my hand at Zentangle.

I had a stencil from the Little Leaves Sizzlits on my desk from a card I'm going to show tomorrow so thought I would use this.  Normally it's just thrown away.

On my first card I stuck with greens.  Outlining the stencil in Old Olive and using Pear Pizzazz and Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Markers.  I added the sentiment from Just Believe and coloured it with Wild Wasabi.

Then thought as they are not "real" leaves what would it be like in bright colours so got to work with my set of In Colours Markers.  Then coloured up my sentiment with the markers too.  I like this version better but I'm interested to see what you think.

Thanks for coming past and Hello to my new followers Bonnie, Berni and Paayra.  I'm very flattered you've chosen to follow me. x

Punch Art Kermit - Yay!!

And Yay! again cos it's Friday!

Here's the Friday Mashup for this week and isn't it fun?

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using "Your Favorite Muppet Color Combo".
  2. Or Make a project " for kids".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a " Project for a Kid using your Favorite Muppet Colors".
Don't forget to tell us or Show us who your Favorite Muppet is!

Well I've not just made a kids card or just used muppet colours but made a muppet card!  It's Kermit of course.  You knew that didn't you?  I hope so!!

I first of all shaped my card by cutting triangles.  He is of course wearing Old Olive today sponged with Old Olive ink to give a slight textured look.  His frill is Certainly Celery made with the Petite Pennants Punch.  Just what all best dressed frogs are wearing this season!

His eyes are 1" circles punched out of Whisper White and popped back into the Round Tab Punch to create the curve at the bottom of his eyes.  The black centres are the four petal Itty Bitty Shapes Punch but with one petal snipped off.

For his mouth I cut a triangle of Real Red and added a 1" circle punch of Blushing Bride lightly sponged and snipped to give a straight edge.

I cut the Yay! using Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Sizzlits in Basic Black.

Here's the middle -

I carried the frill round into the middle and stamped It's Your Day!  from Happiest Birthday Wishes.  This is one of most versatile sets for birthdays ever!  You can earn this set with your hostess pounds when you place a qualifying order.

I stamped Happy Birthday from For My Family and punched it out with the Word Window Punch before attaching it to a little ribbon banner.

I hope you've enjoyed your little visit to Kermit and will hop on over to the Friday Mashup to see some really inspiring cards.

Creative Elements with Colour Q

Good Evening.  Quick post tonight to show a card that I've made for Colour Q.  Here's the palette that we have to follow -

A fun set of colours.  I used Creative Elements.  The floral flourish is stamped in black on the Poppy Parade card stock.  I then added a square of Basic Black and a panel of Whisper White.  I stamped the flower in Lucky Limeade, stamping off a couple of times for depth.  I fussy cut out one of the flowers and layered it up 3 times with a pearl in the centre.  The butterfly was first inked in Pumpkin Pie and then the edges rolled in Poppy Parade and stamped directly onto the panel.  I added a smaller pearl to the centre.  I then stamped Create in Poppy Parade and punched out using the Curly Label Punch.

That's it for me tonight.  Beddy beckons.  Hope you've had a good evening. x
