Some Comfort Cafe for your Birthday!

If it happens to be your birthday then this is for you.  Happy Birthday! 

  I dipped into my Comfort Cafe to make my card.  Doesn't that sound wonderful?  It was actually, it's very comfortable and calming there!  

Ok back to reality.  Summer Starfruit is the card base with Pool Party as the hexagon panel and Midnight Muse as the mat for the Very Vanilla Panel.  Pool Party and some of the Comfort Cafe was embossed with the Hexagon Embossing Folder.  I snipped out the patterned paper with my super sharp Paper Snips.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Midnight Muse.

Love and Laughter Congratulations

Doesn't the time just fly?  Here we are in May already and finally some decent sunshine.  Even had my shorts on yesterday.  Shocked the neighbours with my peely wally white legs!

I'm catching up with Less is More colour week.  We have to choose two opposites from their colour wheel.  I chose yellow and violet but in Stampin' Up! speak that's So Saffron and Perfect Plum.  Aren't they a perfect match together?  Perhaps that's why I've made a wedding card hee hee!

So you've guessed the base is So Saffron along with the popped up panel triple scored along the bottom.  I stamped the cake from Love and Laughter in Perfect Plum on Very Vanilla along with the sentiment from the same set and the little heart.  The flowers were stamped in So Saffron and also popped up.  Some Basic Pearls finished off.

This is a little thank you I made up for my Stamper's 6 ladies.  I wonder what they will do with their Cute Clips?

I've used the delightful Baja Breeze and the Create A Cupcake set with matching Builder Punch.  I popped the little heart up on a Dimensional.  I used my Paper Piercing Essentials Mat pack to add a little decoration to the Whisper White panel.  Doesn't the Top Note Bigz Die make a super topper?  So easy to do with little effort.

Smash Books are all the rage just now.  Never heard of them?  Well let me explain -

Smash books are for anything and everything.  It's a place to capture everyday happenings along with big events.  All the little things that we don't want to forget.  The funny things kids say, conversations with friends and family.  Fun days out. Use it as a planner for your next holiday, wedding, new baby, a party. Record moving home, building an extension, your family's everyday events, days out, nights out.  The list is endless but I'm sure you get the picture.  It doesn't have to be big events it just has to have meaning to you.  Jot down your thoughts as you keep momentos like concert tickets,train tickets.  Out with friends, jot down a few words from them on the event.  You'll have fun looking back at all your memories. It's fast and easy and no mess to keep up with your busy lifestyle.

I've started a book which I made myself for my husband who has a big birthday coming up and to celebrate we are going to New York, kids too.  Each time I planned something else for the trip I handed him the book with a little card explaining a bit more.  He has been drip fed all the details from flights to hotels etc for the past 6 months!  Now we have the This and That Book I'll be able to record the holiday on the go.  Keeping tickets, jotting down reactions.  When we come back I can use this to make a full sized scrapbook album.

Bordering on Romance in Rose Red

Hi Crafty Peeps!  Hope you are having a lovely weekend.  I've found some time in between trying to tidy my craft space to make a card for Less is More which this week has a sketch to follow.  See below. 

I had a picture in my head of using ruffled ribbon so reached for my Rose Red Seam Binding.  I chose a Rose Red card base and a dramatic mat of Basic Black.  I wanted to use a Ribbon Slide (retired) but with bling added to the middle so attached 3 Basic Rhinestones.  Thankfully they come in a strip so wasn't difficult to attach to the centre post.  I stamped the flowers from Bordering on Romance in Basic Black and used a Blender Pen to colour it in with Rose Red, Certainly Celery and Regal Rose.  I added a touch of Frost White Shimmer Paint to the flowers for a touch of sparkle.  The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes is stamped in Rose Red.

Now to ruffle the ribbon I pulled a thread from the middle, (actually I pulled several because I kept pulling them all the way through!)  Doh!!  How to stop it unruffling was the next challenge.  I tried singeing the end but only succeeded in setting the ribbon on fire!  So in the end I've tucked the ribbon behind the panel stuck down with Red Sticky Strip.  My husband came in and wondered what on earth I'd been doing with the matches!! 

I'm off to rid the house of a burning smell now.  Keep crafting but stay safe!  (Don't play with matches!!) x

Sycamore Street Perfectly Preserved

Do you still have some of the fabby Sycamore Street (Sale-A-Bration) paper left?  I still have a few sheets and decided to break them out for this card.  Love the fresh colours.

The design comes from this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  You can see the sketch below. 

With Stampin' Up! designer papers you can be bright and jazzy or calm and soft.  All depends on your mood!  I've gone soft with a Sahara Sand card base.  A mat of Whisper White for the designer paper keeps it soft.  I added Crochet Trim Ribbon before attaching my Pool Party panels, one with matching designer paper and the other with Whisper White.  I stamped 3 flower heads in Island Indigo from Perfectly Preserved (retired) and added the Just for You sentiment along the bottom also from this set.  Have you spotted these super paper clips from the Spring/Summer catty?  This cute heart is from the Elements Cute Clips.  To finish off I added a white button from the Neutrals Buttons set and tied a bow of Pool Party Bakers Twine. 

We were in to see Robert Downey Jnr last night.  Not in person unfortunately but at the cinema in Iron Man.  Super.  Love his films.

Mixed Bunch All Dressed Up

I spotted the challenge at Runway Inspired this week and wanted to join in.  See photo below.  

I've used Mixed Bunch to create a floral pattern.  I added some leaves from the Bird Builder Punch.  The smaller flowers are punched out with 1" Circle Punch popped up on Dimensionals.  I added the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Real Red. 

Mixed Bunch is a lovely set of stamps which make it so easy to create stunning designs.  One of the many reasons that attracted me to Stampin' Up!  If you love Stampin' Up! also, you may consider joining as a hobby demo or more.  Now until the 30th May you receive an extra £25 in products in your starter kit.  So this is a great time to join.  I would love you on my team!
