Gorjuss Stampin' Up!

Gorjuss Fox girl meets Stampin' Up!

My daughter's birthday was on Wednesday.  She turned the grand old age of 12!  She had a lovely day but her real party is tomorrow.  We are taking her friends to the local fun fair at the beach and then back to ours for a sleepover..  I'm hoping for a sunny day and tired girls by the time they get back to ours!

As she likes foxes, I just had to have this stamp set when I saw it.

Once the images were stamped I coloured them in with Copic Sketch pens.  It was fun to do some colouring but I really need more practise.  As Holly's favourite colour is blue, the free papers from Sale-A-Bration - Sweet Sorbet was just perfect.

I used a 6" by 6" Bashful Blue card base with a Marina Mist mat.  I then cut out a panel with a fancy edge using the Adorning Accents Edgelits.  The sentiment is from Four You and trimmed to a banner shape.  I made her name by stamping Outline Alphabet & Numbers letters and cut out.  The girl and the fox are popped up on Dimensionals.

Here's a look at the inside.

I better get an early night tonight.  I promised to help my son Ross with his first shot at relief paper boy tomorrow.  A 7.30am start and papers all to be delivered by 8.30am.  So no long lie tomorrow and probably not much sleep at night either.  A bleary eyed Mum on Sunday!

Hope you have a lovely weekend.  x

Wetlands x 2 similar but different

I had such a fab morning yesterday in the middle of a rather hectic day.  What was I doing?  Crafting at a Workshop with the best bunch of ladies.  The card above is the one we made.

I had great fun with this one getting all inky.  Sometimes not in the right places but we'll skip past that bit!

We started off making the scene on the Glossy Cardstock panel.  First we stamped these gorgeous Wetlands birdies in Black Stazon.  Then we inked up an Acrylic Block by tapping it down the length of Marina Mist ink pad then spritzed it with a fine mist of water.  This caused hilarity whilst we tried not to spray each other with water!  We then pressed this onto our Glossy cardstock and carefully lifted.  We then used a Sponge Dauber to go over any white areas or to soften any hard lines.  Everyone achieved beautiful different effects.  We did the same with Crumb Cake along the top.  Then for a little added interest we stamped some of the grasses around one edge in Cajun Craze.  The panel was attached to a Basic Black mat which helps make the colours pop.  A White Gel Pen adds the flashes of white back into the birds.

I stamped in Whisper White the sentiment from the set onto the Cajun Craze mat.  To finish off we attached some Baker's Twine along the bottom.

This was a second sample to show how you could dress it up a little differently.  Some Cajun Craze was sponged around the the grasses edge and the panel was popped up on Dimensionals. The sentiment this time was stamped in Marina Mist and a ribbon tag was made by trimming round the sentiment and by using the Petite Curly Label punch at an angle.  A candy dot finishes off the tag.  The Adorning Accents Edgelit gives a lovely scalloped border and under that I tucked some Natural Trim Ribbon.

My ladies all said they would have flicked past this set but they all loved using it and hopefully I've inspired them to look at in a new light.

Wedding Wheels with a cascade of hearts

As it's summer and we are well and truly into the Wedding season, I thought I'd share another wedding card that I've made recently.

This one uses Wedding Wheels.  My couple are stamped in Perfect Plum and are cycling along a row of flowers from Bordering on Romance.  Also stamped in Perfect Plum then coloured with a Pink Pirouette Stampin' Write Marker.  The little hearts cascading form her veil are Very Vanilla and Pink Pirouette.  They were punched using the Owl Builder Punch.  This panel is popped up on Dimensionals.  The Whisper White panel has been die cut with the Addorning Accents Edgelits.  I also embossed the bottom with the Embosslits Folders.  The little sentiment from Petite Pairs is stamped in Perfect Plum and punched out with the Full Heart.  The card base is Elegant Eggplant.

Thanks for taking the time to come over.  Your visits are always appreciated. x

Just for You Aviary

I had a fab crafty afternoon with some lovely ladies on Sunday.  This is the card we made.

My Hostess requested Aviary and I'm so glad because I just love this set.  The little birds are so cute especially the owl!

We started with a card base of River Rock.  The mat is Garden Green and has been embossed with Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Then cut with the corresponding Adorning Accent Edgelit.

The bird cages were stamped in River Rock and the branch from Vintage Vogue was stamped in Pear Pizzaz.  Sometimes using the stamping off method to create depth.  Then we added the little birds in Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight.  Punched out a little flower using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch and added a Basic Pearl to the middle.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and stamped in Pear Pizzaz then punched out with the Word Window punch.

Thanks again to Pam for being a wonderful hostess.  Hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did.

Bordering on Romance

Wowee I've got so much to tell you today.  Grab a cuppa!

I'm so excited to finally be able to reveal the Summer mini to you all.  There are so many new yummy products in here.  It would take too long to list everything so do have a look for yourself.

Click here to browse through the cattie.

My card uses some of the new goodies.  Here's a run down -

The base is Pink Pirouette with a mat of Early Espresso.  The curve at the top of the Early Espresso and Whisper White has been made by using the Edgelit Die - Adorning Accents.   Did you notice the embossing?  I've embossed the top and bottom with Textured Impressions Embossing Folders - also Adorning Accents.  Stampin' Up! are brilliant at co-ordinating tools and stamps.  It makes projects so easy to make.  I stamped Bordering on Romance in Early Espresso and coloured with Stampin' Write Markers.  The colours are Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette and Rose Red.  Along the bottom edge I've attached the new Pleated Satin Ribbon in Baja Breeze.  Wouldn't this be fab on you scrapbooking projects?  I attached this with Dimensionals.  The sentiment is from Create A Cupcake (sadly no longer available) and is stamped in Rose Red then punched with the Modern Label Punch.  This was also attached with dimensionals.

So back to the other goodies available.  Did you spot the new scoring tool exclusively designed for Stampin' Up!?  You can score cards, make designs, score 3D objects.  I'm really excited about this tool.  It's going to make projects fun, fast and easy!
Your scoring tool comes with imperial measurements but if you prefer metric then you can add this as a separate plate (127531 £10.95) which fits neatly onto your main tool.

And now we also have the diagonal plate to offer you.

125586 £10.95

You can make your own envelopes, score designs, make boxes and more. You can watch this You Tube video to see more on this fantastic plate.

Oh my goodness there's a lot to take in but it doesn't stop there.

Stampin' Up! have completely revised their STARTER KIT.  It is now at the reduced price of £99.  You now have complete flexibility to choose the products that you want in your kit up to the value of £130.  A business kit is included free (value £45) and there is no postage to pay for your kit.

During the month of May all new recruits will be able to have free registration for convention in Mainz, Germany in November.  This is a saving of £149!

If you are still with me after all this, I'd like to pass on my thanks!

I'll leave you to peruse the Summer mini at your leisure.

In with the new, out with the old.

Oh boy it's certainly weather for the ducks and the penguins.  It's rain, rain, rain and freezing to boot!

To explain my post title, my card uses a set that is sadly leaving us at the end of the month but also uses some new products from the new mini starting in May.

I was having a play getting inky last night.   I played around with several neutrals - Sahara Sand, River Rock, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede - and Baja Breeze.  I stamped Fruit and Flowers in Pacific Point with a few flowers in the background in Baja Breeze stamped off first.  Little pearls from the Basic Pearls set were added to the flowers.

I added Happy Birthday from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Soft Suede then mounted it onto a panel of Pacific Point.

For my card base I used Crumb Cake.  Did you notice the fancy edge to my card?  It's cut with an Edgelit Die from the new catalogue and it's also embossed with a matching  Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I attached a strip of Pacific Point to the inside of the card which shows nicely against the fancy edge.

So it's the last few days of the Spring mini catalogue.  I'd hate you to miss out on any products you'd been eyeing up.

Thanks for coming past and visiting.  Hope it's dry where you are. x
