Stampin' Up! Comfort Cafe and Bow Maker

Just popping in this evening to share with you a couple of little cards and a gift.  I made these for my Stamper's 6 Ladies.  I always like to pop in a card and a small gift to say thank you.  This month I made a Bow Makers using Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper as the decoration.  I found a tutorial that not only shows you how to make them but also how to use them.  You can see it here.

I added a large bow in Crochet Trim which they can attach to their own projects.  The little cards are also decorated with the designer papers and a bow.  This time made with the smaller bow maker.  The templates were attached to a book ring so the Ladies can add their own bow makers in different sizes if they wish to make some up themselves. 

On the cards I added a frame from Four Frames punched out with the Decorative Label Punch and popped up on Dimensionals.

A little birdy says Happy Valentine's

Well I don't really know what he's saying!  But it doesn't matter cos it's in French and that's the language of love....

For this card I've put together a few stamp sets.  The french words are from French Foliage (so he's probably twittering on about autumn!!) and my little hero is from one of the frames in Four Frames.  I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to just pick out the little bird and stamped onto my Whisper White card base.  I then again using a Stampin' Write Marker this time in Real Red I inked up the heart from Tiny Tags.  I like the way the ink pools on the stamp and gives a bit of depth when stamping.  Stampin' Write Markers are great for this and picking out just the details you want stamped.  I then masked both the heart and bird and stamped the word in Basic Grey after stamping off first.  This was to make the background a little more subtle.  The Mr & Mrs also from Tiny Tags was again inked with my black marker then stamped off a couple of times before punching out using the Jewellery Tag Punch.  A Basic Rhinestone gem anchors the tag to the heart.

It's an Elegant Soiree sort of day!

I feel very indulgent today.  I decided to reach for my Designer Series Papers and Elegant Soiree caught my eye.  These are a lovely set of papers in soft colours.  

I started off with a Basic Grey textured card in 6" by 6".  I then cut two panels from one of the sheets of paper.  I mounted them on Baja Breeze card showing the opposite patterns.  Then I chose one of the other patterns so cut a 3" by 3" square and again mounted it on Baja Breeze and off set this over the patterned panels.  

The final element is the sentiment.  I used Sincere Salutations Best Wishes and stamped it in Baja Breeze on Whisper White.  I then punched it out with 1 3/4" Oval Large.  I used this punch to punch out a second oval in Crumb Cake.  This oval was cut in half and attached to the sentiment to give a border.  I then attached this to a frame from the Four Frames set.  The frame was stamped in Baja Breeze on Baja Breeze card then punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. 

So this is my indulgent card which I've enjoyed making today with very little stamping involved.

Well the end of my day wasn't very elegant nor a soiree.  I was standing at the bottom of a ladder holding it whilst my hubby attempted to clean out our gutters raining dirt, moss etc over me!  Neither of us are very keen on heights so glad it's done and we are no longer growing bushes on the roof.

Four Frames - Card No.4

Final card in the Four Frames series - this one using the rose frame.  The card base is melon mambo.  I repeatedly stamped the frame in the same ink to produce a background pattern.  Then stamped the frame in whisper white and punched out using the Decorative Label punch.  I attached a strip of whisper white to elegant eggplant then attached this to the bottom of the card blank.  The white strip would also look great in satin ribbon.  A couple of basic rhinestones on the label to finish off.

Four Frames - Card No. 3

Happy Easter everyone.   I hope you have had a lovely day today.  We have had some gorgeous weather recently.  I could get used to this!

My card today is No.3 in the Four Frames series.  I love the way this card came together.  It was a complete surprise.  Not even the frame I'd originally intended to use!

The flower panels are made with the blossoms stamp from Punch Potpourri.  I inked the stamp with old olive.  Then using my Blender Pen I picked up ink from my elegant eggplant stamp pad (after squoshing the ink pad to create a pool of ink on the lid) and highlighted some areas of the stamp.  This was stamped onto whisper white and mounted onto elegant eggplant.  The birdie label was also stamped with elegant eggplant and punched out with the Decorative Label punch then a couple of dimensionals to pop it up.

Four Frames - Card No. 2

As promised here is card no. 2 using the Four Frames set.  Again I've made a matt to go behind the frame in melon mambo but only for the top and bottom this time.

Here's how I've made this card -

I've stamped the large flourish from Baroque Motifs in old olive onto whisper white.  The star flowers are stamped in melon mambo.  For some of the flowers I didn't re ink the stamp but stamped again giving a paler flower.  This is such a rich colour, I love it.  I then matted a very thin strip of olive green onto the top and bottom of the whisper white.  Then added another strip of melon mambo to the top and bottom after punching it with the Scallop Trim Border punch.  This panel was then attached to the elegant eggplant base.  I chose the polka dot frame and stamped it in melon mambo and punched it out with the Decorative Label punch.  The sentiment is from Basic Phrases and stamped in old olive.  I made a matt for the frame as explained above and added it to the card.

So this is my second card in the four frames series.  I hope you'll pop back to check out the others. x

Four Frames......Well only one actually!

This card uses the Four Frames set from the mini catalogue.  I plan to make a different card using each of the frames but keeping the colour palette the same to show the different effects that can be achieved.  The colours I've chosen from my Colour Coach are - elegant eggplant, melon mambo and old olive.

On this one I've used elegant eggplant as my card base, melon mambo as my mount and old olive for the ribbon strip.

Here's how I made it  -
I repeatedly stamped the large image from Bliss in the 3 colours (sometimes stamping off) on whisper white card.  I then embossed it using the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I love the effect this gives you.  There's so much texture that it almost feels and looks like material.  I used a very elegant frame from the set and stamped in elegant eggplant.  I think this frame would look fab embossed in gold or black.  I then stamped "for you" from the Occasional Greetings set in old olive.  This was punched out using the Decorative Label Punch.  The matting around the frames were made by punching out 2 frames in each colour - elegant eggplant and melon mambo.  Then cutting the frames in half - first one horizontally and second one vertically.  Then piece the cut outs to the back of the label to create a frame effect.
