Pink Daisy

At Less is More this week it's a lucky dip and we've been given a photo for inspiration.

Aren't these flowers pretty and the colour palette is gorgeous.

I couldn't resist making another large daisy, this time in Pink Pirouette with a Dazzling Diamonds middle.  I've placed it on a Certainly Celery Lace Ribbon Border.  The mat is textured Grey card stock with the corners punched out using the 1" Circle Punch.  This is placed onto a card blank of Pink Pirouette.  Very girly!

Thanks for popping by.  I'm away to enjoy the ..... chilly outdoors!!

Simply Adorned

Something different today.  It's my Mum's birthday today and this is one of her gifts.  A Simply Adorned necklace decorated with Fresh Vintage

I coloured directly onto the large flower stamp with Wild Wasabi, Rose Red and Perfect Plum using Stampin' Write Markers and stamped onto Very Vanilla.  I trimmed down the area I wanted for the insert and kept some of the scraps for the other side as it's glass on both sides.  I then cut out a little Rose Red butterfly and attached with a glue dot.  Finally added a small basic rhinestone to one of the flowers.

There's also one of the Black Crystal Baubles attached to the chain.

I hope she likes it, we are having a special tea with cake and of course pressies.

Best dash, A big Hi to Jacqueline, thanks for following me. x

Cheeky Monkey!!

Good Afternoon.

We are still enjoying lovely sunshine in the North East but the weather men say it's going to be cooler by Saturday just in time for the Children's Easter holidays.  I'm hoping it warms up again on Sunday!!

Over at Simply Stampin' we have a sketch to follow.  My card is rectangular but I hope that's still ok.

So take a look at this cheeky monkey!  He's popped a crown on his head and is having a good look in the mirror! Hee Hee.

If you are a regular you will know that I've been having a play with Fox and Friends this week.  As Sale-A-Bration ends very soon, I thought I'd team up one of the sets with Fox and Friends.  Elementary Elegance sprung to mind and I got the idea of making the frame a mirror.  Of course the monkey just fits the bill to be the one having a cheeky peek at his reflection.  To do this I stamped the frame in River Rock on Whisper White and again on a post it note.  Then punched out the centre of the post it note with the Curly Label Punch.  I then stamped the monkey through the mask in Soft Suede.  I added a crown in River Rock with a Basic Rhinestone in the centre.  I kept the mask in place and lightly sponged some Pool Party to look like the glass in the mirror.

The panel is attached to a mat of Pool Party which has been edged with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  From my scraps I attached a strip of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (another free set from Sale-A-Bration).

The sentiment is also from Elementary Elegance and stamped in River Rock on Whisper White and attached to a Pool Party mat.  I snipped the ends for a ribbon tag effect. This was all attached to a mat of Poppy Parade with a card base of Whisper White.

Well my cheeky monkeys have arrived home from school and are raiding the food cupboards.  They love it when Mum has done the weekly shop and there is plenty of goodies to choose from!

Card - Whisper White, Pool Party, Poppy Parade
Ink - River Rock, Soft Suede, Pool Party
Stamp - Fox and Friends, Elementary Elegance
Punch - Curly Label, Scallop Trim Border

Baby Quilt

Good Morning!  Hope the sun is shining where you are today.

I've a baby card to share with you.  The Friday Mashup are asking you to

Make a project using the "Quilted Cards Technique"
Or Make a project using "Something that's been forgotten (sitting in your stash forever)"
Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Quilted card with something you've forgotten about"

So I had great fun making my quilted card.  I stamped Fox and Friends animals in Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, So Saffron and Certainly Celery.  Then punched out the animals using 1 1/4" Punch.  I also punched another 4 squares.  Then die cut the letters using Timeless Type Junior Alphabets and attached these to the squares.  I also punched squares out of Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper and cut these in half.  Then formed a pattern onto copier paper and attached the squares to it.  I ran this through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Then further trimmed my "quilt" to fit the card base.

I added a border of So Saffron and edged the bottom with the Scallop Edge Punch.  Then added another border of Certainly Celery before attaching to a Marina Mist card base.

To finish I attached a rhinestone brad to one corner, which is my forgotten item.

Thanks for dropping by today and Welcome to Victoria.  I appreciate you following my little blog.  Hope you pop by often.

Fox and Friends play Tig and Tag

A fun card for you today.
I was having a little shot of the fab Fox and Friends set.

I punched out tags in Whisper White using the Large Tag Punch.  I then stamped some fun Fox and Friends slightly off the edge as if they are peeking out.  They were stamped in Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.  They were then mounted onto the same colour card punched using the Extra Large Tag Punch.  I then die cut some letters using the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Sizzlits.

I don't know if you can see but I textured the Basic Black mount with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  This was then attached to a Whisper White mat and then onto a Daffodil Delight card base.

Last few remaining days of Sale-A-Bration.  Have you got your free set?  If not there is still time to take advantage of this fab event.  You also still have time to join my Stampers 6 starting in April.  Only 2 places left!

Simply Soft Blossoms

Happy Saturday Everyone!   After all our sunny weather we now have a misty day.  Hopefully the sun will burn it off soon.

Today is Less is More today on my crafting week.  It's a theme this week and we have been asked to choose 3 past challenges.  For my card I have gone all the way back to the beginning with

1. Pink Black White - Week 1
2. Spring - Week 3
and then more recent, a favourite sketch
3. Sketch 4 - Week 52

As I can see the blossom starting to come up on our tree I decided to use this as my focal point.  I've used Simply Soft which is a hostess set.  Firstly I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder.  Then stamped it again in Black Staz On and a third time but stamping off first.  I coloured my blossoms with my Stampin' Write Markers.  The background blossoms are Pink Pirouette, the middle Pretty in Pink and the foreground in Rose Red (which really looks a deep pink rather than red).  I added some Pretty in Pink 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon along the bottom and attached it to a Melon Mambo mat.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped in Rose Red then punched out using the Word Window Punch.  It's attached to a Modern Label Punch in Melon Mambo.

Only 2 places left in my Stampers 6 starting in April.  This is an excellant way to go through your wish list and spread out the cost.  Perhaps you would like to build up your markers, ink collection or stamp sets?  You will also have the opportunity to be a hostess and you could use your hostess pounds to purchase this lovely stamp set I've used today.  If this appeals then drop me an e mail on ails300@btinternet.com.

Punch it out!

My lucky son has another birthday party on Saturday.  This time paintballing.  Freshly Made Sketches this week has the perfect sketch for me to make an appropriate card.

Here's the sketch -

So my spots are to represent paintballs and I've also stamped paint splatters behind the sentiment.

I followed my Colour Coach to select the colours and I think they look quite boyish.  The base card is Tempting Turquoise with a mat of Whisper White.

For the top layer I punched out circles using the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and corner rounded the corners.  I ran it through the Square Lattice Embossing folder.  I then punched more circles in Rich Razzleberry to fit into all but one circle.  I topped these with a 1" Circle of Pumpkin Pie embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

"Happy Birthday" is from For My Family and stamped in Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry. I then used the splatter from French Foliage in Tempting Turquoise, stamping on some scrap first before stamping over the sentiment.

This top layer was attached using Dimensionals.

I'm pleased with the way this has turned out and at least it's in plenty time for the party this time!

What a glorious sunny day we had today, hope you had fun.  Thanks for stopping in by. x

Have a Whale of a time!

Here's a card I was having a play with today.

I started having some fun with the whale from Fox and Friends stamping him first in Tempting Turquoise then straight into Pacific Point before stamping him on Whisper White.  I then masked him and using a stencil scrap from Swirls and Scribbles Sizzlit, I sponged both Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point to create a splashy background.

The background cards are also scraps in both colours.  Stamped the border stamp from Fresh Vintage in Pacific Point onto the Tempting Turquoise card and the jumbled Birthday stamp from Happiest Birthday Wishes in Pacific Point onto the same coloured card stock.  I used a White Gel Pen to make some faux stitching.

The sentiment is also from Happiest Birthday Wishes and is stamped in Pacific Point and punched out using the Modern Label Punch.  It just fits without the exclamation mark.

Here's how I finished off the inside -

I repeated the process of stamping the whales in both colours along some Whisper White card and using the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch I made a choppy wave effect along the top.  Whale was die cut with the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet.  I cut out the word in both colours then snipped a wavy edge and attached the Tempting Turquoise onto the Pacific Point letters.  The rest was handwritten with the White Gel Pen.

As I've used masking I'm going to pop this into Less is More

Thanks for stopping in by.  Hope it's sunny where you are.  We are having a lovely day in Aberdeen.

Remember still time to place an order for the Sale-A-Bration freebies which finishes at the end of this month.  Also still time to join my Stampers 6 starting in April.  There will be another fab promotion in April. Lots more exciting things to come in the next few months too!

A ticket to a Happiest Birthday Wishes

Another one of those last minute cards for a birthday party my son is going to today.  I did think I had one suitable already but couldn't find it this morning.  Must of used it already.  Aaagh!

Never mind Less is More this week is asking us to use masking in some form and so this card evolved.

I made a ribbon banner using one of the stamps from Happiest Birthday Wishes, masking one end to give the tag effect.  I stamped it in Night of Navy and used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for lining up.  Then masked again and sponged Calypso Coral around the edges.

I stamped a couple of sentiments from Petite Pairs and cut them out.  Then using the 1/2" circle punch I punched out the corners to give the ticket shape.   As the boys are off to the cinema I thought this would be appropriate.  I sponged some Night of Navy around the edges of the tickets.

Happiest Birthday Wishes is a super set in the exclusive hostess section of the catalogue.  There's so many different styles which will suit lots of birthday situations.  If you have a party or place an appropriate order then you can use your hostess pounds to buy this set at a reduced price.  Do this before the end of this month and you could also receive free stamps from Sale-A-Bration.   Or join my Stampers 6 starting April and on your month you will have hostess pounds to spend anywhere in the current catalogues.

Well my son is off to the cinema, full of the cold.  Loaded up with lots of tissues, strepsils and a spoonful of paracetamol.  Do you think he'll be ok?

Faux Mother of Pearl Congratulations

Happy Friday Everyone.

My card today is for two challenges.

follow the sketch and/or mash it up using the faux Mother of Pearl technique.  There's a tutorial on the challenge site.

and the other challenge is CASual Fridays and for this week -

CFC44:  It's as Easy as 1-2-3  Create a Clean And Simple project using
1. A Pattern
2.  An Image
3.  A Sentiment
Sound easy?  Remember to keep it CAS!

So onto the card.

The card base is Basic Black with a mat of Very Vanilla.  I wrapped some Rose red seam binding around the middle and tied a bow.  Then stamped Congratulations from Occasional Quotes (a retired set) in Basic Black.

I punched out a scalloped circle in Basic Black with the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch and added a Basic Pearl to all the scallops. I punched a circle of very Vanilla with the 1 3/4" circle punch.  Then using Frost White Shimmer Paint dabbed a pattern with some kitchen roll to make the faux Mother of Pearl.  Once dry I stamped a heart from I {heart} hearts in Jet Back Stazon.

Here's a close up to show the faux mother of pearl -

On the inside I've layered some Very Vanilla on Rose Red card to tie in with the ribbon on the front.  I've left it blank meantime until I decide why it's congratulations.

Still time to join my Stampers 6 club starting in April.  This is a good time to join the club because there are lots of good things coming from Stampin' Up! in the next couple of months.   You can e mail me on ails300@btinternet.com to book your place.

More Fun Flowers

A quick post today to show you more Fun Flowers using the Bigz Die and Everday Enchantment Designer Papers.  This is very similar to my earlier post just using different colours and a stamped panel on each side of the gatefold.

The card base is Lucky Limeade and the mats are Peach Parfait.  Two panels of Whisper White stamped using Fresh Vintage in Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, and Calypso Coral.  Don't the In Colours look great together?

The card stock on the flowers was run through Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and Everyday Enchantment for the other layers.  A Calypso Coral Brad finishes the centre.  I added swirls from Scribbles and Swirls Sizzlit Die in Lucky Limeade.

Here's how it opens -

This second card is just to show the flower used on a normal fold card.

Card base is Chocolate Chip with Peach Parfait as a mat and a strip of Everyday Enchantment on the top.  The flower was made up the same as above.

Almost the weekend and it's the middle of March.  Only a few weeks left of Sale-A-Bration.  However there is still time to join my Stampers 6.

Hope you have a good day.  Thanks for dropping in by. x

Curly Cute Birthday

A very simple card today.

This one uses Curly Cute for the sentiment and Fresh Vintage for the flowers.

The card base is Pool Party and I stamped the flower in three colours, Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Calypso Coral.  The squares are mounted onto the same coloured card stock.

The bottom panel uses a strip of Everyday Enchantment mounted onto Poppy Parade with a Scallop Edge Border of Calypso Coral.  The sentiment is stamped in Poppy Parade.

There's still time to join my Stampers 6 club starting April.  Spread the cost, receive hostess goodies on your month and the odd freebie too!  Only 3 places remaining!

And that's it for today.  Middle of the week already, time just seems to be flying by.  All the more reason to take time out to craft, I always find that slows things down!

Take care. x

An Elementary Elegant Happy Birthday

Monday morning.  Hope you all had a sunny weekend.  We had a super day yesterday,
t-shirts and shorts, but overcast today.  So back to jumpers!

I'm flying in on the seat of my pants for the Freshly made Sketches challenge which closes today.  Here's the sketch -

and the colours on the right are from the Simply Stampin' challenge this week.

I've  made my card base Crumb Cake and added a panel of designer paper from Everyday Enchantment matted onto Poppy Parade.  The smaller mat is Baja Breeze with Very Vanilla and I've stamped an image and sentiment from another free Sale-A-Bration set,  Elementary Elegance.  I inked up the frame in Baja Breeze first then used my Poppy Parade marker to colour the crown.  The sentiment fits perfectly into the frame using a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for accurate placement and was stamped in Poppy Parade.  Can I say what a saddo I am, because seeing the sentiment go into the frame just tickled me!

I distressed the edges and sponged lightly with Crumb Cake.  I wrapped some Linen Thread  around the left edge then attached to the card.   The little bird is from the same stamp set and I punched it out with the 1" circle punch then stamped again and punched it out with the 1/2" circle punch then attached over the original image with a Dimensional.  Again it was stamped in Poppy Parade and the edges of the main circle sponged with Crumb Cake.

Hope you have a good Monday.  I would like to say Hi to my new follower Lola, hope to see you dropping by often. x

French Foliage Love

Hello Everybody!  Sending a little love your way today.

For LESS IS MORE this week, the challenge is to use script on a one layer card.  I've chosen French Foliage.

My card base is Glossy Card and I've masked it to emboss a strip of gold then to sponge a panel with French Foliage embossed in White.  I've chosen spring colours of So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Certainly Celery.

I stamped love from Outlined Occasions (A free set from Sale-A-Bration which ends soon) and embossed in gold.  Then I sprinkled some gold embossing powder along the bottom and heat embossed that too.  Not so sure about that but wanted to see how it would turn out.

And that's my card today.  Have a fun weekend and I look forward to coming visit your creations too.

If you fancy owning these products yourself but like to spread the cost then check out my Virtual Hostess Club only 3 places left.  You could be receiving a bundle of goodies each month.

Card - Glossy
Ink - So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Pumkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Versamark
Stamps - French Foliage, Outlined Occasions
Other - Gold embossing powder, White embossing powder

Another trio....

.....an Aviary one this time.  I love this cute set.

For this card I wanted to just have a play, stamping the birds in different colours.  The 1 1/4" circle punch was perfect for punching them out.  I stamped them in Certainly Celery, Marina Mist and Pretty in Pink.  Then matted then on Wisteria Wonder squares punched with the 1 1/4" square punch and added a strip of Marina Mist behind before mounting onto a rectangle of Pretty in Pink.  I then had some fun with the cages stamping them in Wisteria Wonder but not quite matching the cages to their owners. This was then mounted onto another mat of Pretty in Pink before attaching to a Whisper White card base.

This is just one of those cards that it's fun to have a play so at the moment I'm not sure which occasion it will fit.

Thanks for your visit I love it when you drop by.  If you fancy receiving goodies like this each month then why not join my Stampers 6 Virtual Hostess Club.  It's a great way to spread the cost of your goodies and I have 3 places left.

See you next time. x

A Fruity trio

This card started out it's life intended for a challenge until I realised the squares were just too big for the sketch we were given.

However I liked the arrangement so made it up into a card anyway.

The fruits are from Fruit and Flowers.  One of the stamp sets in the Spring Mini which runs until the end of April.  I stamped in Real Red then again in Lucky Limeade and paper pieced the leaves and stalk of the strawberry. The squares were mounted onto Basic Black.

I've added a strip of designer paper along the bottom from Everyday Enchantment.  A free set of papers from Sale-A-Bration when you spend £45.  A quick reminder, Sale-A-Bration ends this month!  So hurry if you want to take advantage of the free sets on offer.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and stamped in Real Red then punched out using Curly Label Punch.

Thanks for coming in past, hope your week is going well. x

Fun Flowers Gatefold Birthday

What have you been doing today?  I've been having some fun at my card class with some fun flowers today with a lovely bunch of ladies.

This is one of the cards that we made.  A Chocolate Chip base with one side of the gate embossed with Perfect Polka Dots.  The other side had a mat layer of Peach Parfait and a Whisper White strip which was stamped with Fresh Vintage.  The stamps were stamped off on some scrap first to give a softer look in Pool Party and Lucky Limeade.

Onto the bloom itself.  This was made using the Fun Flowers Bigz Die. Two layers of Peach Parfait embossed with Perfect Polka Dots and two layers of Designer Series Paper from Everyday Enchantment.  (free as part of Sale-A-Bration) I think I have been enchanted because I've almost used this paper everyday! Lol.

A Lucky Limeade Printed Brad was added to the centre.  Some sizzlits in Swirls Scribbles give a Lucky Limeade flourish.  The flower was attached to one side of the gate and a plain version of the large layer of the flower was added to the inside and back of the flower.  This gave a neater finish to the inside.

I've made my card a Happy Birthday, you can just see the sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes, peeking from inside but this also makes a lovely Mother's Day card.

The other card we made, which you can see here, I'm delighted to say it was choosen to be featured at Freshly Made Sketches.  I'm so pleased.

Thanks for dropping in by. x

Pocket Silhouettes goes neutral

Yahoo it's Saturday and a new challenge over at LESS IS MORE, which for this week is to use neutrals.

For my card I've chosen a card base of Very Vanilla then added a panel of some textured River Rock.  Onto this is some Whisper White stamped with the Woodgrain stamp in Crumb Cake.  I then stamped some Pocket Silhouettes along the bottom in Early Espresso. Stamping off the the side images first.  The edges were sponged with River Rock.

I used a 1 1/4" circle punch to punch a semi circle from the top edge.  The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes and was stamped twice.  Then punched out using 1/1/4" circle and 1" circle punches.  The outside circle was sponged with River Rock and the inside popped up on a Dimensional.  I added some of the smallest Basic Pearls to the grasses and the sentiment to finish off.

Thanks for popping by today and hope you have a great weekend.

Before you go, just a reminder, I have 3 places left for my Stampers 6 Club starting in April.  If you are interested you can e mail me on ails300@btinternet.com.

Faith in Nature Mother's Day Card

Happy 1st March!  As it's Mother's Day this month I thought I'd make a Mother's day card.

Using Real Red as a card base I've added a mat of Very Vanilla then a mat of Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper.  I  sponged round the edges with Soft Suede using a Sponge Dauber.

A strip of Real Red was run through the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and attached.  The centre panel is Real Red and Very Vanilla.  I stamped the flower from Faith in Nature in Lucky Limeade.  I used my Blender Pen to pick up ink from my Real Red ink pad and coloured the centres.

The sentiment was also stamped in Real Red and is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I sponged the edges with Real Red.

A few little Basic Pearls in the centre of each flower finishes the card.

Thanks for visiting me today, I really appreciate it. x

I'm putting this card into Freshly Made Sketches - here's the sketch
