Feeling Sentimental about wheels

Two posts from me in one day!  This time, two cards for two challenges.

Less is More this week has a theme of round and round and Addicted to CAS has a code word of wheels.

With a first glance at my cards you may think mmmm how does this fit in with the challenges?  Ha you'll need to look closely.   The stamp I've used is the Penny Farthing from Feeling Sentimental.  Honest it is!

On the first card I coloured the wheels with my Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker and stamped onto Whisper White.  I then cut out the wheels.  On the large flower I added petals by punching out Summer Starfruit card stock using the Banner Punch and attaching to the back.  The stem is some green cardstock from my millions of scraps!  I used a Smoky Slate card base and added a panel stamped with the Hardwood stamp also in Smoky Slate.  The panel has the corners rounded.  I chose a simple For You sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners and die cut with the matching framelit.

What's your thoughts?

Onto my second card.  When I stamped the wheel the first time it immediately looked like a slice of lemon.  So I decided to go with the flow and make this card.

This time the card base is Crushed Curry.  I added a sentiment from Perfect Preserved stamped in Calypso Coral and die cut with the Banners Framelits.  I curled the ends with my paper snips.

Once again I coloured the wheel from Feeling Sentimental in Crushed Curry and cut out.  I then snipped a cut up to the centre.  I stamped the jar from Perfectly Preserved in Sahara Stone and fussy cut out.  To make it look like the lemon is in the jar, I snipped along the rim so I could tuck the lemon slice in.  Before doing this I stamped the wheel onto the jar in Summer Starfruit after stamping off first.  Now it looks like you can see the lemon through the glass!  I used my Aqua Pen to add a little watered down Summer Starfruit to the inside of the jar.  I tied Calypso Coral 1/8" taffetta ribbon around the top of the jar.  Then to help ground the image I added a strip of Washi Tape along the bottom of the card from Epic Day.  I slightly rounded the jar and attached to the card with Dimensionals.

Now the big question is - When the world throws you lemons, do you make a g & t or lemonade?

I'll leave you to decide what's in the jar!!

Perfectly Preserved flowers in a jar

Can't believe it's Thursday already.  I just seem to be continually chasing my tail just now.

So it's nice to stop in past here and share a very calming card with you today.

This one is destined for one of the ladies in the card swap group I take part in as it was her birthday this week.  Hope you like it, Zoe.

I've stamped the gorgeous jar from Perfectly Preserved in Sahara Sand and also the sentiment from the same set.  I then stamped the stem in Old Olive and the flower heads in Rich Razzleberry.  I attached the Whisper White panel to an Old Olive mat, which had some Crochet Trim Ribbon topped with Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain (retired) Ribbon attached along the bottom.  This was all attached to a Rich Razzleberry base.

Lots of new things happening at Stampin' Up! very soon.  I'll let you know as soon as I can.  One of the fun things about being a Demonstrator is that it does mean you get all the bizz first.  Want to be in the know before everyone else?  Now is a great time to join before the end of May as there is a real boost to your starter kit with the extra £25.

I'm going to add this into Dynamic Duos which is having a celebration and you can choose any of the past challenges.  You can see I've chosen -

one of my all time favourite colour combos.

I hope your week has been more calming than mine and you've had the chance to get crafty. x

Sycamore Street Perfectly Preserved

Do you still have some of the fabby Sycamore Street (Sale-A-Bration) paper left?  I still have a few sheets and decided to break them out for this card.  Love the fresh colours.

The design comes from this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  You can see the sketch below.

With Stampin' Up! designer papers you can be bright and jazzy or calm and soft.  All depends on your mood!  I've gone soft with a Sahara Sand card base.  A mat of Whisper White for the designer paper keeps it soft.  I added Crochet Trim Ribbon before attaching my Pool Party panels, one with matching designer paper and the other with Whisper White.  I stamped 3 flower heads in Island Indigo from Perfectly Preserved (retired) and added the Just for You sentiment along the bottom also from this set.  Have you spotted these super paper clips from the Spring/Summer catty?  This cute heart is from the Elements Cute Clips.  To finish off I added a white button from the Neutrals Buttons set and tied a bow of Pool Party Bakers Twine

We were in to see Robert Downey Jnr last night.  Not in person unfortunately but at the cinema in Iron Man.  Super.  Love his films.

Hope you are having a fun weekend.  Stay crafty. x

Summer Silhouettes in the pink

Oh dear, my snowman card yesterday brought on some more snow this morning, so I thought I'd better do some warm flowers!! Hint Hint.......

I've followed two challenges for this card -

Dynamic Duos - Real Red and Pretty in Pink
I've added Crumb Cake as my neutral.

Addicted to stamps and more - which has given us a fab sketch to follow -

For my card I decided to stay away from hearts and have a play with one of my favourite stamp sets ever - Summer Sihouettes.  I've used a Crumb Cake base to tone down all that pink.  A Whisper White panel was attached firstly stamping the trellis design with Crumb Cake.  I then cut a square of Whisper White and repeatedly stamped all over with the flower in Pretty in Pink stamped off first.  I stamped the arrangement of flowers in Pretty in Pink and Real Red.  Then sponged the edges with Real Red.  I added a small Basic Pearl to the little flowers and drew in a shadow line with my Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker.  The panel was attached with Dimensionals.  I then stamped the flower in Real Red on some scrap Whisper White before cutting out and attaching with a Dimensional.  The larger Basic Pearl finishes off the flower.  The sentiment comes form Perfectly Preserved and I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line it up along the bottom.

I think it looks really sweet and I like the colour combo combined with Crumb Cake.

My warm flowers are doing the trick!  The snow is off for the time being and doesn't seem to have come to much.  Oh the power of crafting.  Hee Hee.
