A trio of Christmas Ornaments

A trio of ornaments for Merry Mondays this week where you can play tic tac toe.  I've chosen Red, Dry Embossing and Ribbon.

I stamped my three baubles in Cherry Cobbler, Riding Hood Red, and Real Red.  I used the matching Framelit to die cut one of the baubles and popped it up on Dimensionals.  I attached the Whisper White panel onto Basic Black.  I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Real Red and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  Strings of Basic Rhinestones add a little bling.  On the side panel I've embossed a strip of Real Red with the Petals A Plenty Folder and attached a little ribbon bow.

I followed the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches for this card.

I hope you are all well and enjoying your evening.  Can't believe it's almost the weekend.  Once again the week has flown past.  Not only that but February has disappeared too!

Sale-A-Bration ends in March so don't miss out on your free goodies, you have until the 22nd to place your orders.  I'd be delighted to help you just drop me a line on ails300@btinternet.com.

Happy crafting Folks.  xx

Feeling Sentimental - Masculine

Good morning Peeps!

It's a lovely sunny day here in the frozen north!  For once got a decent photo of my card.

I've followed two challenges today -
CASe this sketch - sketch below
Addicted to CAS - codeword Masculine

Here's how I made the card.

I started with a Pumpkin Pie base.  Then embossed my panel of Early Espresso with the Chevron Folder.  I cut a rectangle of Very Vanilla and decided the telephone box from Feeling Sentimental (Sale-A-Bration 2013) was the perfect shape.  I followed my trusty Colour Coach and stamped it in Daffodil Delight.  With artistic license we can have our telephone boxes in any colour, right? Then I corner rounded the top two corners to mimic the box.  I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Pumpkin Pie.  To give an added warm glow I sponged some Pumpkin Pie around the edges.  Then popped the panel up on some Dimensionals.

I think this looks suitably masculine but i hope it's CAS enough.

Have a lovely day folks and I hope it's sunny where you are too! x

Just Because Creative Elements

I've had such a busy day today.  My daughter's school does "Grow a Fiver" during Primary 6.  The children are given £5 then they go off and grow it into more and the proceeds all go towards their school trip at the start of Primary 7.  But first of all I'll share my card with you.  I was definitely in need of some well earned relaxation time!

I'm joining in with Less is More this week which is to use paper piercing on your project.

I've started off with a card base of 5" by 5".  I stamped the very elegant swirl from Creative Elements in Real Red.  Then paper pierced a pattern round some of the swirls.  This was soooo calming and very therapeutic!  I used my Paper Piercing Tool and matching Mat Set. My sentiment comes from Vintage Verses (free when you spend £45 during Sale-A-Bration) and is stamped in Early Espresso.  I attached my Whisper White panel onto a mat of Pumpkin Pie and popped it up on Dimensionals.

I got my colour combo from using the Colour Coach.  This is such a handy tool and can give you combinations you wouldn't have thought off but go so well together.

So want to know why I am exhausted?

Well I've loads of ideas for my daughter to sell on a little stall to grow her fiver.  One of those being some baking.  I decided we should try Macarons and Cake Pops.  Never having made either we had a practice session this afternoon.  5 hours we spent baking!  But boy do we need some practice!  The Macarons did not just appear as they do on all those lovely Pinterest pictures!!  Way more practice required but we all still scoffed them.  Well you do have to try as you make don't you?

However I'm glad to say the Cake Pops were much more successful.  We may even get a bit more adventurous with the decorating!

What do you think?

Thanks for joining me today.

Please let me know if you would like to take part in Sale-A-Bration or join my Stampers 6 (Virtual Hostess) club starting in April.

It's always lovely to hear from you! xx

Vintage Verses in silvery detail

A super feminine card for you today.

CAS-ual Fridays - are looking for silver in your projects.  And what better to go with silver but pink?  So as it's going to be pretty girly I've followed the sketch at Seize the Birthday - make a feminine card.

Now onto my card.  Doesn't this sentiment from Vintage Verses look fabulous embossed?  The decorative trim is from Creative Elements and is also embossed in silver.  I've used Pink Pirouette as my mat of pink.

I'd like to welcome Jackie.  Thanks for choosing to follow me.

Nearly the weekend, hurray!  Hope you have something lovely planned.
Keep crafty folks!! x

Sycamore Street and Vintage Verses

Two card for two challenges.  (You can see the challenges below)

This is actually my second card.  I used the Top Note die cut from first (see below) as the main focal point.  Isn't this paper beautiful?  It's from the fabby Sale-A-Bration set of papers called Sycamore Street.  You can earn this set free when you spend £45 during Sale-A-Bration.  Drop me an email on ails300@btinternet.com to place your order.

I mounted it onto Sahara Sand and used my Paper Snips to trim to shape.  I then attached it to a panel of Summer Starfruit.  The sentiment panel is from Vintage Verses and stamped in Tangerine Tango.  I snipped a banner and then roughed up the edges with my Paper Snips.  I also roughed the edge of my card base.  I added 3 medium Basic Pearls along the bottom.

My second card (actually the first I made!) has a mat of Summer Starfruit then I used the Bigz Top Note to die cut a panel of Sycamore Street.  A second die cut of Whisper White was inserted back into the space.  My far side was a little uneven so I added a strip of patterned paper to cover it up.  I stamped the whisper white panel with the Bloomin' Marvelous stamps.  Clear embossing some of the leaves.  I added the largest of the Basic Pearls along the bottom so they stood out.  I wasn't sure if this was CAS enough for either of the challenges and so created the top card.

Both very different yet following the same two challenges.

I was at my Jazzercise class this morning.  My neighbour runs a brilliant class in the local Village hall.  Today to my surprise one of the songs featured Pachelbel's Canon.  A beautiful piece of music which I had as my Bridal March.  How weird to be doing a Jazzercise routine to it!

Take care, keep cosy.  xx

Here are the challenges-

Firstly the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches
And secondly the colours from CAS- Colours and Sketches - Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango, Sahara Sand

Chevrons and Dots....

......and an accidental ship!!  Ship Ahoy Everyone!!

It really wasn't intentional but as soon as I laid the bottom sentiment piece in place, my eye saw a ship and even though I was trying to be random I still see a ship!  So why fight it?! Hee Hee.

I've taken my inspiration from this weeks card at Muse.  This is week 5 at the challenge and I've been watching it with interest but this is the first time I've had the chance to play.
Here's the card

I've picked up on the colours, the chevrons and dots.

I started with a Pacific Point card base and added a mat of Tempting Turquoise then a panel of Whisper White.  I stamped my sentiment from Sassy Salutations in Pacific Point onto dotty paper from the Brights Stack.  I then punched some shapes out of Pumpkin Pie using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  Next I embossed Daffodil Delight card with the Chevron Embossing Folder.  Then using my Brayer I inked the raised embossing with the same colour ink for some tone on tone.

A bright cheery card for a bright cheery day!  Hope it's sunny and warm where you are today and thank you for stopping in past.

Remember to take a look at my Virtual Hostess Club starting in April.  I'm taking names now for my remaining places.

Take care.  xxx

Ornament Keepsakes gone chic!

A simples simples card today.

I've used a Basic Black card base with a mat of Brushed Gold card stock then a panel of Whisper White.  I stamped the sentiment from Choc Full of Cheer in Versamark then embossed in gold.  I pierced a dotted line underneath.  I then stamped one of the ornaments from Ornament Keepsakes (did you notice that this set made it into the Spring/Summer mini catalogue?) in Versamark onto Basic Black.  I embossed this with gold also then cut out with my paper snips.  You can use framelits to die cut these ornaments but i didn't want a black border on this one.  I then popped it up on a dimensional.

I've attempted to go elegant chic for Merry Monday this week which is looking for an elegant theme.  You should check out the DT cards, they are fab!

CAS-ual Fridays determined my colour scheme - Black, White and 1 other (I've chosen Gold).

And for my design I followed the sketch at CASe This Sketch

Did you have a good weekend?  We've had a lovely sunny day here. 10 degrees no less positively summer like!!

Up Up and Away Spring Sampler

Good morning Peeps!  Hope you have a lovely weekend planned.

I've popped in this morning to share my card for this week's Less is More theme Up in the Air.

I've used one of the new embossing folders Cloudy Day on my Pool Party card base.  I then added a strip of Whisper White popped up on Dimensionals.  I stamped the little hot air balloon from Spring Sampler in Not Quite Navy, So Saffron, and Pool Party.  I made it cloudy using a scallop circle sponged with Pool Party.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners and I used it's matching framelit to die cut it.

Itty Bitty Banners is just one of the free stamp sets you can earn during Sale-A-Bration.  Have you got your free set yet?

Do you like to receive something special each month?  Joining my Stampers 6 club is a great way to spread out the cost of your wish list.  I have a new club starting in April and I'd be delighted to have you on board.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. xx

A snowy day

A snowy card for a snowy day.  I live in a village on the outskirts of Aberdeen (4 miles).  It snowed all day with us but when I went in to Aberdeen there was none.
It's official I stay in the frozen north!

So it seems appropriate to show you my snow man card made with Stylin' Snowfolk.  A little masking and shading for the snowy hill.  I made a twiggy bush (snowman arms actually) for the little robin to sit on and added glitter.  Mr Snowman's hat is popped up on a dimensional.  The sentiment is from For my Family stamped in Real Red and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.

So hopefully the rain will have washed it all away for tomorrow.

Hope you are all well. x

A Trio of Blackboard Technique Cards

This is the card I made at a recent workshop.  A bit of blackboard technique which seems to be the rage at the moment.  Using lots of Sale-A-Bration products so the ladies could have a proper play with all the new goodies.

For the one above I used Bloomin' Marvelous.

This one uses Pennant Parade words, Hearts A Flutter and Vintage Verses.

A different direction and Feeling Sentimental with Vintage Verses on this one.  I also showed how you could bling it up by popping the little Pretty Petites on Dimensionals and adding Basic Rhinestones

Once I had shown the ladies how to make the card using an Embossing Buddy to get that chalky look on the blackboard they were left to make up their card using any of the stamp sets.  The results were amazing.  Some preferred crisp and clean so didn't chalk and each card was completely different.

The banners were made from Sycamore Street Designer Papers and cut out with the Hearts A Flutter Framelits.  Island Indigo Bakers Twine bows attached with mini glue dots finish off the banner effect.

I came downstairs today to the smell of cooking.  Wondering what was going on I went into the kitchen to find my Daughter and her Granny making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday.  Did you know it was pancake day?  I would have taken a photo but they were so yum they disappeared too fast.

Happy Pancake Day everyone. x

A Kiss to build a Dream on

Happy Monday Everyone!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I had a fab time on Saturday demoing at a workshop with the best bunch of ladies.  I'll show you the card we made tomorrow.  For today I'm catching up with a couple of challenges.

Less is More - One layer week with a theme of music
CAS-ual Fridays - Love song.  Choose a song you love to inspire your CAS creation

I've gone for "A kiss to build a dream on" by Jimmy Durante.  My husband and I love the sound track to Sleepless in Seattle.  Not so much the film.  However this song became ours.  We would pretend we could dance when playing it at home and once in a silly mood we danced in a layby as the music played from the car.  What the other drivers thought I don't know!!   When we asked our wedding band if they could play it as our first dance they looked at us strange. We got "Love is all Around" by Wet Wet Wet.  At least our guests weren't exposed to some very silly dancing and instead we did a sedate shuffle!!  Nowadays we are very tame and all fuddy duddy.  No more dancing at home never mind laybys!

So onto the card.  First off I printed my computer generated sentiment onto Whisper White (Font - Fabulous 50).  I then used my Music Note Wheel in Baja Breeze being quite random and allowing it to fade out.  I stamped the flourish from Everything Eleanor in Basic Black and added the splodges from French Foliage in Pink Pirouette.   I then punched out a few Cherry Cobbler Glimmery Glitter hearts using the Owl Punch and added them to the flourish.

A lovely welcome to Kristie, thanks so much for joining me here.

Remember to let me know if you are interested in my Stampers 6 (Virtual Hostess) club starting in April.  It's so exciting to receive a lovely parcel of goodies each month.

Thanks go out to the lovely ladies at Addicted to Stamps and More for choosing my card last week as a winner.  Also thank you to Merry Monday for my honourable mention for this card.

See you all tomorrow. x

Summer Silhouettes in the pink

Oh dear, my snowman card yesterday brought on some more snow this morning, so I thought I'd better do some warm flowers!! Hint Hint.......

I've followed two challenges for this card -

Dynamic Duos - Real Red and Pretty in Pink
I've added Crumb Cake as my neutral.

Addicted to stamps and more - which has given us a fab sketch to follow -

For my card I decided to stay away from hearts and have a play with one of my favourite stamp sets ever - Summer Sihouettes.  I've used a Crumb Cake base to tone down all that pink.  A Whisper White panel was attached firstly stamping the trellis design with Crumb Cake.  I then cut a square of Whisper White and repeatedly stamped all over with the flower in Pretty in Pink stamped off first.  I stamped the arrangement of flowers in Pretty in Pink and Real Red.  Then sponged the edges with Real Red.  I added a small Basic Pearl to the little flowers and drew in a shadow line with my Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker.  The panel was attached with Dimensionals.  I then stamped the flower in Real Red on some scrap Whisper White before cutting out and attaching with a Dimensional.  The larger Basic Pearl finishes off the flower.  The sentiment comes form Perfectly Preserved and I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line it up along the bottom.

I think it looks really sweet and I like the colour combo combined with Crumb Cake.

My warm flowers are doing the trick!  The snow is off for the time being and doesn't seem to have come to much.  Oh the power of crafting.  Hee Hee.

Snow Much Fun with Petals A Plenty

Hello Crafty Peeps!

I'm playing along with Merry Monday today.  The challenge this week is to use the colours Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist and Basic Grey.  Not colours I would have picked for a Christmas card but I love the contemporary look.  That's why it's good to try challenges, they stretch our imaginations.

I've also picked the sketch at CASe This Sketch to follow.

Here's the details of my card.  I've started with a Marina Mist card base.  I then embossed a Whisper White panel with the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder.  This was matted onto Brushed Silver to give a bit of sparkle.  I stamped my sentiment from For My Family in Pumpkin Pie.  This panel was corner rounded at two sides and attached to a mat of Marina Mist also corner rounded at two sides.  I added a Pumpkin Pie flag tag.  My cheeky snowman from Snow Much Fun was stamped in Basic Grey and coloured using my Blender Pen.  I punched him out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.  Then attached to a mat of Pumpkin Pie which was die cut with the Circles 2 Originals Die.

Another one for my box!

I had my daughter off school today with a cold.  She thinks she'll be ok for school tomorrow.  I'm starting to sneeze so perhaps Mum wont be so fit tomorrow!!

Hope you are all well.  Thanks for your visit. x

Ooops nearly forgot to add, thank you very much for my Honourable Mention at Merry Monday last week.  Such a boost! xx

Hearts a Flutter Flags

Hip Hip Hooray it's Saturday!

We woke up this morning to a snowy scene!  Started snowing late yesterday afternoon and our little corner of the world has turned white again.

It was nice to sit and craft this morning all cosy inside.  Our challenge at Less is More this week is to use Kraft & Kreme.  My son is off to his friends for a birthday party so I challenged myself to make this work for a teenage card.

As you can see I started off with a Crumb Cake base then made a panel of Crumb Cake, rounding two corners.  I stamped two Crumb Cake Flags from Hearts A Flutter once on Very Vanilla and a second time on Crumb Cake.  They were die cut using the matching Framelits. I then attached them to my panel.  I wrapped some Linen Thread around the panel and threaded it through a Ribbon Slide.  My sentiment is from Sassy Salutations and is stamped in Crumb Cake.  You can see the sentiment flag is bigger.  To do this I only rollered my framelit part way in my Big Shot then used my paper trimmer to finish it off. The panel was attached to the base using Dimensionals.

I'm very pleased with the result.  Thanks to the ladies at Less is More for the inspiration and Many Happy returns on your 2nd birthday!

Keep cosy and take care. x

Strolling down Sycamore Street

Happy 1st of Feb Everyone!!!  Ooooh this is so exciting!!
Why all the excitement?  Well today sees the launch of the new Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue.  Loads of new scrummy lovliness inside to drool over.  You can look through the catalogue below but first let me share my card for today.

Take a look by clicking here

I've broken away from clean and simple to play along with Freshly Made Sketches not that you can't be CAS and still play.  Just that today I fancied a change and challenged myself to use Designer Paper.

Isn't this paper just fabulous?  It's called Sycamore Street and it's free.  Yep you read that correctly!  You can choose this from 17 free Sale-A-Bration products this year when you spend £45.  This is an amazing time with Stampin' Up!, we have loads more than usual to celebrate 25 years.  Have a look at the brochure on my side bar and come celebrate with us!

I should also point out that there's a co-ordinating stamp set for these papers which is also free during Sale-A-Bration.  How fab is that?

So for my card I started with a 6" by 6" Baja Breeze card base and matted this beautiful paper on Rich Razzleberry.  I then made a tag out of Rich Razzleberry.  Did you notice the embossing along the bottom?  I used a fabby new set of embossing folders from the new catalogue called Needlepoint Border.  For further decoration I added a strip of co-ordinating paper and a tab of Baja Breeze to the top before stapling some Rich Razzleberry ribbon.

For the heart I used my new stamp set from the mini catalogue - Hearts a Flutter.  I stamped the largest heart stamp in Rich Razzleberry onto another piece of this gorgeous designer paper and die cut with the Hearts A Flutter Framelits. You can purchase the stamps and framelits together in a bundle and save 15%!   The heart was attached with Dimensionals and I made the little banners with the Bitty Banner Framelits out of Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.  I stamped "Love" from Tiny Tags in Baja Breeze before die cutting. Then attached the banners together with a Rich Razzleberry brad before attaching with a glue dot.

Here's a photo of how I finished off the inside.

I'm also excited to announce I've opened up a little shop!  A virtual one.  The Coffee Morning Shoppe. I'd love you to come in and have a browse and let me know what you think.  You can click on it on my header bar.  It's still under construction so bear with me!  The tables aren't set out yet..... Hee Hee.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing some of the new products in action.  Between this supplement and the main catalogue I'm sure you'll have a wish list as long as your arm!  Mine is.  Why not consider joining my Stampers 6 starting in April?  You'll spread the cost of your wish list, have the excitement of receiving a parcel every month, and don't forget you will be hostess for one of those months.  I'll keep you informed of any new promotions and you'll receive all the current catalogues for free to flick through and keep for ideas.  Interested? Want more details? Have a look at my Virtual Hostess Page or email me on ails300@btinternet.com.  Of course that doesn't mean you have to wait till April to shop I'm more than happy to help you with your orders in the meantime. x
