Let it Snow

Have you got your sparkle on?

This snowman looks so cosy in the snowy woods with his ear muffs on.  He's definitely got his sparkle on with this glimmer paper border. The trees are embossed on Night of Navy and sponged with Whisper White to give a snowy forest look.

Way behind making my Christmas cards but I prefer to be a half glass full person so really I'm way ahead of the curve for next year!!

Watercolour Christmas

Bit of an experiment here.  I got out my Stamping' Up! Watercolour Pencils and paper and stamped these images from White Christmas. Then used an Aqua Painter to spread the colour around. I'm in awe of all those beautiful results you see on the net so much more practise required.

I mounted my panel onto Silver Foil then onto Whisper White before attaching to a Night of Navy card base.  I topped my water colour panel with a Window sheet and used Candy Dots to cover the Glue Dots in the corners.

I dusted off my Watercolour Pencils so I can join in this week's challenge over at Merry Monday

Doesn't this birdie look fab?  Mmm maybe I shouldn't pack the pencils away again quite so quickly and experiment some more!

See you next time.

Techno! Techno! Techno!

"Techno! Techno! Techno!" That's what my little robots are saying as they walk across this birthday card.

I've joined in with the Less is More this week which threw me a real challenge as the theme is technology.
After much scratching of head I thought I'd use this little image from Boys Will Be Boys as there's been a lot in the news about artificial intelligence.

My card base is Basic Grey and I've added a panel of Silver foil embossed with Chevrons.  I then stamped a couple of robots in Basic Grey stamping off first to give a lighter image.  The sentiment was stamped onto a little piece of Basic Grey. For my main focal robot, I stamped him in Basic Grey and coloured him in Real Red using my Stamping' Write Marker.  Then the fun part, I covered him in Crystal Effects.  He's so shiny and 3d.  I left him to completely dry, overnight, then cut him out and attached him with some Dimensionals.

Hope you get more of an idea from this pic.

This was so cool to make.  I love the way the Silver Foil takes to the embossing and the crystal effects gives such a glossy look.

Hope you've had a great weekend and thanks so much for your visit.

xx

Congrats to you two - Your Perfect Day

So simple and so elegant!

This is a 6" by 6" card that I made for a wedding card. It has a mat of So Saffron card stock with an oval of Whisper White.  The wedding cake from Your Perfect Day (retired) is stamped in So Saffron with tiny pearls added.  I used a couple of nesting oval frailest from my stash to cut it out.  I wrapped some Whisper White satin ribbon around the mat.

Did you know you can easily colour this ribbon using your ink pads?

The sentiment was stamped in Sahara Sand and the little border flowers were stamped in Daffodil Delight.

What do you think?  Easy peasy?

Take care. x

It's Been Awhile!

Wow it's been awhile!

Thought I'd share a little project that has taken me probably around two years to complete.  If I'd sat down and just got on with it, it would have only taken about 3 days.  Have you ever had any projects like that?  I have to give credit to my Mum who stood at my shoulder helping me understand the instructions.

I followed a pattern from an Amy Butler book and used her fabric too.

I'm so proud of myself as it's my first major project doing grown up sewing!  Here's a pick of the middle complete with lining and divider and metal clasp thingies.

Did I pack up the sewing machine for another couple of years?  Nope whilst it was out I made a little thingy ma jig for a friends birthday which I will proudly show you at a later date.

It's been hard to find my crafty mojo and for awhile I thought it had completely deserted me, but I think I've rediscovered it.  Making a totally different project has certainly helped.

Take care. xx

Thank You

Thank you for being patient.  I'm sorry it's been some time since I last posted.

As I'm saying thank you, it seemed appropriate to post the little thank you card that I included in my Stamper's 6 and customer bags last month.

This little card was so easy to make which is great when you need multiples.

I've used a Wisteria Wonder background with a panel of Whisper White.  Then stamped Hardwood in Soft Sky.  I used the absolutely gorgeous set Painted Petals and stamped some flowers decorated on top in Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz.  I then stamped the flower heads in Marina Mist and fussy cut out.  I popped them up on Dimensionals and added some glitter.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and is stamped in Perfect Plum.

I can't believe we are so far into April!  It's been a gorgeous day here more like summer than spring.  Our new catalogue will be here before we know it too.  The date has changed to the 2nd June so our Retiral List has come out today!

Have a look and grab your bargains before they all disappear for good.

You can see the list by clicking here.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.  x

Sadly.........................

I know that I haven't posted much to my blog recently.

I'm sure you will understand.

........ Sadly my Dad passed away yesterday in the small hours of the morning.

It's been a shock although we knew that he had suspected lung cancer in the middle of December, it wasn't until the middle of January that it was confirmed and we were advised that there was no treatment 3 weeks ago.  However as it was slow growing he should have months and months.

Sadly he contracted pneumonia last week and just didn't have the strength to fight it.

We will miss him loads.

Something For........Father's Day

Remember this tie?  I used it on my last card, a baby card!  Not surprising really as it's a set called Something For Baby. Isn't great when you can use your sets for other occassions? When I used the tie last time I thought it would make a super male card.  So here it is.

I used the In Colours.  You know they are all going to go together so no extra thought required.  Its easy peasy.

I stamped my ties on Whisper White and die cut an extra one using the Baby's First Framelits.  I cut the little heart and added the tie then popped it up on Dimensionals.

I added a little extra texture by scoring three lines along the top.  I then matted this onto Lost Lagoon card stock.  I turned to Crazy About You to add my sentiment.  This set is in the Spring/Summer Catalogue and is available in wood, clear and photopolymer.  I used the photopolymer which made it so easy to line up.

Here's a pic of the middle.  You can't see easily from the photo but I added the scored lines down the side of the whisper white panel.

I know it's a long time till Father's Day but that's what the card spoke to me.  Does that happen to you?

I'm looking out on a very snowy scene with us today and cold North Sea winds.  It's Brrrrrr!

Stay cosy and keep crafting!.  x

Edit: Thanks to Valerie I'm going to pop this over to Moo Mania which  has a masculine theme.

Stampin' Up!'s Something For Baby

How's your Saturday?

I've had a very relaxing day and had some time to potter about in my crafty area.  We will have to brave the snowy weather though as we have tickets to go to the theatre to see Shrek tonight.  Can't wait!

I didn't manage to join in last week at Less is More but have followed the sketch for this week's theme of Little ones.
This said babies to me.

I've started with a Soft Sky base and added a mat of Whisper White embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I then stamped onto a strip of Whisper White using the elements from Something For Baby. I snipped the bottom to give a ribbon effect and distressed the edges. The little duck was cut out with the matching framelits, Baby's First and popped up on a dimensional.  Love it when you can get matching framelits and punches to the stamp sets.  It makes it all so easy!  I stamped and free cut the little heart to adorn my little duck.

So that's a baby boy card to go into my box ready for a happy event!

Right time to hussle up the gang and get our Shrek on.  x

Tag you're it!

Ha Ha Tag you're it!

It's Saturday night, sitting here watching the Voice with a glass of red.  Life in the fast lane!  So I'm tagging you to admit what you are doing right now!!  Be truthful if you dare.......Ha Ha.

Also to show you this little pressie I made for my Stampers 6 Virtual Hostess Club.  Its a bag of tags made up from the Tag a Bag Accessory kit and my own tag as decoration.  I used the Angled Tag Topper Punch on Whisper White and decorated it with a gold foil bow using the Bow Builder Punch.  I stamped the message from Merry Everything (retired) in Cherry Cobbler on Real Red card stock.

I finished it with some Baker's Twine and a large Basic Rhinestone.

Here's a close up.

Have a fun evening.  x

Hot Diggity Dog!

Hot Diggity Dog!!

Not so hot here, it's snowing today.  Not as bad as some areas of Scotland, more a dusting.

"Diggity" is the nickname we give our dog, Jess. because she likes to dig in the garden.  I think it would make a cool name for a dog.

I made these little cards for my Virtual Hostess Club to say thank you for their orders.  Of course it's using the Hot Diggity Dog set where you can mix and match your doggies.  I've got mine balancing a present of a bone on his nose.  The sentiment "just fur you" is also from the set.  Stampin' Up!'s Gorgeous Grunge provides the ground for my doggy.

I'm going to pop this into Less is more for their friends week. Our doggy is so friendly she comes and gives you a hug and is truly a four legged friend.

Here's our furry bundle now to be called "Princess" Diggity!  Look at her thinking she has every right to be on that couch!

Stampin' Up!'s Sheltering Tree

Good Morning.

Whilst it's snowing outside, I had a quick side trip into the crafty space and made this card for Less is More.  It's the dreaded one layer week and the theme is New Beginnings.

I've used another newbie from the spring/summer catalogue - Sheltering Tree.  This set has loads of options.  There's the bike, a rake, a swing, blossom, leaves and four sentiments to go with them.  You could do a seasonal set of cards or just mix and match the elements.

I've stamped the tree off the edge in Soft Suede.  The tree looks fantastic all bare but for the theme of new beginnings I added some Pistachio Pudding leaves on the ends.  They're my new buds.  And like a lot of people at this time of year the bike is for the start of new beginnings and a new exercise regime.  The bike is stamped in Basic Black and Real Red. The ground is stamped in Crumb Cake.  I added the sentiment in Real Red.  I used a Crumb Cake base for my card and I'm really pleased how the little scene has come together.

I felt I should be adding touches of white to the tree in view of the scene outside!

Hope it's warmer with you.  x

    Happy Birthday Lotus Flower

Rushing in at the last minute for a card for this week's Less is More challenge which is a colour challenge. The selection is Black, Metallic plus one.  I've added red for my lotus blossom.

As the challenge closes very soon, I'm going to pop this in and update with all the details later.

    So see you soon. x

    Hi I'm back.

Did you notice that I'd used some new goodies from the Spring/Summer catalogue and also from Sale-a-bration?

There's lots of yummy new goodies to explore and if you spend £45 then you can choose a free item from Sale A Bration.

So here's how I made my card. I started with a Whisper White base and added a mat of brushed gold.  The Whisper White panel was punched at the corners using a circle punch.
I thought the stems from Painted Petals looked a bit like bamboo so I stamped first in Basic Black then again in Versamark and embossed in gold.  The lotus blossom is made up of 3 stamps, each one is numbered and has a marker to make it easier to line up.  I used Cherry Blossom. Real Red and Strawberry Slush.  I'm looking forward to experimenting with different colours.  I attached some Basic Black ribbon to add drama.  Happy Birthday is stamped in Basic Black from Crazy About You.

It's was fun to dust off the old crafty corner and play with my new goodies.

    Have a good evening. x
