"Grrrrrr" that's my tiger impersonation!! Maybe I should stick to a Tigger impersonation and say "A Tiggerific Day!". Why the animal noises? Well this weeks challenge at Less is More is a one layer with fur or feathers.
I thought I'd make my own animal print background. I used my super duper Scoring Tool to make a scored frame. Then I masked off a rectangular portion and sponged Daffodil Delight, More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie. I also deliberately dotted the sponge dauber as it leaves a good texture. Now came the fun part. How did I get my tiger stripes? This is a trick I saw some time ago on blogland but sorry can't remember where, however it's easy to do. I used the scrap rubber from one of my clear sets and cut it up into stripey irregular shapes then placed them on a rectangular Acrylic Block. Inked them up with Basic Black and printed my stripey print onto the sponged background. Viola! some animal print. I added a strip of Basic Black satin ribbon along the bottom as I really felt with all that animal fur you needed a bit of touchy feely to the card. And as animal print is a bit glam 3 Basic Rhinestones add a bit of sparkle.
I stopped messing about with it at that point as the black ink had a habit of jumping up and biting my card leaving black smudges! Grrrr for real!!
I'm also going to enter this at Casual Fridays which is looking for square cards.
Do get in touch if you would like to join my Stampers 6 starting in October when the new catalogue becomes available. It's going to be great, bigger and better than before! I've a few spaces left and it would be great to have you part of the club.
So it's TTFN from me. Thanks again for your visit.
Oh but before I go a big thank you to the girls over at CASology. My card was the winner for this week! I'm so chuffed, it was a lovely surprise and I get to be guest designer next week!! So stayed tuned!
